THE BSPA weren't given the race-nights. They are not in the gift of the FIM. They informed the International Speedway League Bureau, which is affiliated to the FIM, that these were the nights they wanted. Sweden requested Tuesdays, Denmark went for Wednesdays which left Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the Poles which, originally, they were happy with. When the BSPA changed their minds, and substituted Wednesday for Thursday, the Poles moved the goalposts although it didn't actually affect them. It just means that Danish tracks will have priority over riders on Wednesdays. The Polish league authorities continue to play hardball, demanding priority of virtually any day of the week for their play-offs and the FIM are seemingly unable to bring any pressure to bear on what is essentially a domestic situation with the Poles flexing their undoubted muscle.

NOTHING is definite with the BSPA ... but, yes.
-
JUST about all tracks are making a pig's ear of announcements but then the BSPA are no better
-
COOK later this week
-
THE original nights, as the BSPA informed the FIM, were Mondays and Thursdays but that was changed because a number of CL tracks objected.

HEARING that Premiership tracks will have Good Friday ... CL Easter Monday

SURELY depends on what his net income is at the end of the day

DEPENDS on how much money is available to cover production costs I would imagine
-
BUT 33% of the usual 48 pages are not devoted to adverts. It is hard enough making SS viable these days without turning away what little advertising is available.
-
HAD Lambert signing before it was announced. SS is feature led at this time of the year. What's wrong with ADDING a 24 page travel brochure. Thousands of people use TP to go to SGPs. Am totally bemused by your comments. So, no, I don't have to admit this week's issue is poor. But you are entitled to your opinion.

STILL BT not SKY ...

THIS week's Speedway Star is its usual 48 pages plus a 24 page section from Travel Plus. How are you losing out?

DEAL about to be signed

WHO said anything about organising?

PERHAPS the FIM will do something about the Poles and their self-imposed rules and continual moving of the goalposts. Incidehtally, a couple of pigs have just flown by my window.

THE late, great Charles Ochiltree told me a zillion years ago that he would put together a team in which the riders wanted to ride for Coventry and got along with each other. Then averages came along and he had to put together a set of numbers which never worked as well.

FROM what I am hearing BSI are as frustrated as the rest of us because not everything is cut and dried with the FIM but all their ducks are in a row and they will go public asap. My educated guess is for the second week in June.
-
WHY? Who would do the production?
-
SHOULD be some news this week...
-
So where did it all go wrong?

YOU could count the number of promoters who go to Cardiff on one hand. Says it all ... -
HOPE to know more on Monday but don't think the format will be anything like the Somerset one. As I understand it, the plan is still to alternate yearly with the four-nation SWC and a seven team Nations Cup in which the riders from each country will race as a pair rather than as individuals which will encourage team riding.

THE SS staff work New Year's day ... this week's was as per usual schedule. -
WHAT have they got to do with it? As usual you try and get in a dig about the SGP when there is no need. Even in the early 80s Wembley still had an aura, events staged there were instantly elevated in the public eye, the soccer pitch was superb, unlike most others in those days. But it's facilities for spectators were very poor, out-dated and in drastic need of renovation. Compared.to the Wembley of today it is of course chalk and cheese.
