  1. On Saturday radio Norfolk played an interview with robin brundle and he said there will be a new annoucement/initiative given every Friday until the end of march.
  2. I find it very funny how people say that holder and batchelor were not team men? All 7 of the squad stuck together last season and that's why the big fall out happened. Clubmen they are not but team men then I can't see why you wouldn't want them in your 1-7. All 7 of them were very close knit. Unfortunately it was to each other and not the club. If things had gone other way and meeting abandoned after 8 heats I bet we would have carried on and easily made the play offs.
  3. I'm going to throw a wild idea out there and question is the delay in announcing information something to do with the tv deal expiring? I have enquired before about streaming meetings and was told this is not possible due to existing tv contract. With this contract due to expire, could we be leading the way with streaming some meetings for fans at a certain cost?
  4. Doyle very nearly signed for us before he did Swindon a couple of years ago. He lives in Norwich so I wouldn't rule that one out straight away. If averages I have seen are correct then 1) Doyle 9.69 2) Jorgensen 5.93 3) 4)Kerr 5.06 5) lambert 7.38 6) TJH 4.64 7) Would give you 9.8 to play with for last 2 riders
  5. From what was said is that the track was very soft underneath and was tearing up. Riders were struggling to turn the bike and we see this quite a lot throughout. I believe it caused more issues to those who were stuck behind other riders. From memory Shane's holder rose s lambert batch Jorgensen all had issues in different heats. I have to admit I didn't take much notice of which Poole riders struggled but there were definitely some. They tried to sort the track by grading and I would assume it came to a climax at heat 9 when they said it's just too bad. Unfortunately in speedWay you are always going to get 1'team that wants to carry on and 1 that doesn't. Track did look a lot better after the extra material was laid down however there could be more issues than just the track which led to the events of tonight. Poole fans enjoy your 4 points tonight and you have every right to do so but gloating at the events of tonight is uncalled for. It's not just a shame for kings Lynn speedWay it's a massive blow to the whole U.K. SpeedWay scene.
  6. Not a good night all round but let's get some truth amongst the tulip that is being spoken on here. Track was not good and apparently soft and made it very hard to ride. Yes Poole riders were happy to ride as they were winning and I can't blame them. Kings Lynn riders 1-7 refused to race after heat 8. Not just batch and holder. Rose at the end was speaking and said he couldn't turn the bike and that's what they all struggled with. Dale was taken ill and I hope he has a speedy recovery and it was nothing to do with events for tonight. Batch looked very good in heat 1 but did fall heavily and the wrist injury may have been a convenient reason to disappear. Holder tried in heat 11 but walked straight off after and into changing rooms. Probably had enough by this point and didn't want to risk nothing else. Lambert did not try and punch someone. He went into the crowd to confront someone who was abusing them in the pits. Nothing wrong in sticking up for yourself and your team. Jorgensen very impressive. Kai looked good too and was prepared to give it a go. Before all the keyboard warriors start maybe wait for the riders opinion before slating any of them. None of us would work in dangerous conditions or conditions that we wasn't comfortable in so why do we expext the riders too.
  7. For those who use periscope it is very interesting to hear tais view on some of it. Listen 33 minutes in to hear some views from Saturday. Also quite plain talking about British speedway in general. Don't know how to post a link to periscope but those with the app will be able to listen to it.
  8. Doesn't surprise me to see that wilko wants to race. Can really see him being a fans favourite this season. Good work on the quick update as well.
  9. Kenneth is so frustrating to watch. When someone gets near he goes to pot. During Rory's testimonial he done the quickest lap time of all them riders so it proves he has the speed. Unfortunately he just doesn't have the attitude to match it and people want to see riders fighting for every point so you can understand why people don't want him in the side.
  10. Oh dear. Just attack posts for mistakes rather than focus what the post was supposed to be about. Never mind. Happy Christmas and new year.
  11. Main reserve position would be the non protected reserve. As I understand only 1 reserve (number 6) can go into the top 5. If I have that wrong then I apologise.
  12. I think the only hope we have is maybe Dudek as I am sure we nearly had him 18 months ago to cover someones injury but something didnt quite work out. In terms of reserve I hope its one of Blackbird Wilkinson or Roynon. I dont think Lambert is quite up to a main reserve position. Surprised no one has mentioned about the new referee/press box that has gone up recently at the arena. Looks good and hopefully makes things more comfortable in there for all concerned.
  13. At the young stars meeting last week there was schlein lambert and Kerr. That surely can't have been a coincidence, especially with no track work being done throughout the meeting. This would buster to have his meetings with the riders hopefully sorting out next year. I personally would love to have NKI and lambert back. If schlein is fully fit then I think he has to go in the team. Then you have to consider bjerre as he is on a very low average but that is a big risk. For the others I think Kerr would go in if he is fit but again could be a risk after such a big accident. Porsing has to be replaced in my view. Hasn't been good enough last 2 seasons and I think he's run out of time and needs to get a premier league place. It's a shame as he seems such a nice guy but you cannot carry people.
  14. As someone said earlier the riders enjoy it there as they know they will get a better surface there than anywhere else. Does that mean it's going to be the best race track...no it doesn't. A good race track requires more than just a steady surface, it requires a good shape and flow to the track. Just look at Leicester, wonderful little stadium, well prepared track but the shape of it causes all sorts of problems which stops overtaking which means usually once you get to bend 3 lap 1 you can fill your scorecard in. Look at Wimborne road, a few potholes causes riders to become off balance which then then allows riders to come through and get a closer race. From a fans point of view it may be great to see lots of this to see an overtake but do the riders enjoy it, I hardly think so. Riders perception is wonderful, look at last night, jonsson said after heat 1 it's s lot more grippier than I thought it would be, Niels came out a few heats later saying in heat 1 it was slicker than he thought so struggled. So even they find it hard to judge a track and have different opinions. A meeting like last night doesn't help fans view of a track because it was so one sided, you were almost begging lambert or Niels to not gate to see some competitive racing. Unfortunately it didn't happen, not because the track was badly prepared, but purely down to one team not being at the races, this could be the reverse at lakeside on Friday. Will that make it a bad track, I doubt it. The best meetings to watch are the close scoring ones, there may not be much racing but a close score brings extra pressures and reliefs when you finally get that win or what could have been. To say the track is bad all the time now is a ridiculous statement it doesn't win awards for nothing and doesn't hold the World Cup meetings for no good reason either. Every track has bad days, even the show ground, remember how bad that track was when Kenneth broke h is leg it was awful. That doesn't mean it's a bad track it just had a tough night where t didn't go right. Every track has had good meetings and bad meetings where there's no overtaking, it's often because a team doesn't turn up.
  15. The reason sky wax lyrical about buster is because he can get meetings on with a reasonably safe track no matter what the conditions. We had sudden down pours here yesterday all day and even a hailstorm about 30 minutes before it went live on tv. It saves sky a lot of money to be able to get these meetings on. With the wind we had yesterday and heavy down pours all day I doubt hardly any other track would have got a surface like that where riders were happy to ride. I also bet hardly any others would have been bothered to put in the work that went on all day yesterday to get the meeting on. It's like some of you would prefer to have no speedway what so ever so you can look back with rose tinted spectacles of how it was good in the old days.
  16. What on earth do some of you expect. Kings Lynn gated superbly all night. Lakeside didn't turn up tonight. They were not even getting close enough to make a race of it. The track had nothing to do with that performance from lakeside so to blame the track is hilarious. It actually takes 2 teams to race. Falls happen in every speedway meeting auty had a similar issue in the elrc at Leicester this season. Early doors you will get moisture coming through and giving riders too much grip hence why Kerr crashed, it was just unfortunate it caused injury. Lynn were meant to face Poole tonight but it was decided racing the same side 3 times in 6 days was ridiculous for fans so decided to switch the fixtures. Well done lambert superb from the gate. Showing something you didn't do last year. I hope you keep your head and carry on learning. Also special mention to Ashley Morris, being the only new lad can't be easy and to score well tonight was very pleasing.
  17. It's all ifs buts and maybes. Poole could still of won but so could have Swindon kings Lynn or Coventry. They could never award it to someone else overall as there's so many different possibilities. They could however take it away from Poole but not re-award the over all winner. That really would make a mockery of British speedway. However saying that kings Lynn had they finished top wanted to have Coventry at home in the first leg. I'm sure Lyons even says this to sky tv at the last meeting. As a kings Lynn fan I am a firm believer that our race was already run when it came to the play offs. We would not have beaten 2 of the 3 other sides over 2 legs to win it. You only have to look at what could have happened. Kerr may not have got injured in the first leg Bjerre may not have been fit enough to ride 2 meetings. We were lucky the 2nd leg kept getting postponed to allow him more time to recover Schlein may not have had 2 engine failures Any other of our riders could have been badly injured and made our team weaker We would of had different guests who could of done better or worse There's just a few of the ifs and maybes that could of made us score more points or less. It's too complicated to even think of awarding it to anyone else. What I feel is the main problem here is the lack of urgency the FIM have shown. It's still going on and teams are suffering and other riders too as I'm sure Poole are keeping someone waiting just in case. I'm sure that will be the same with his other clubs too. The FIM should have had this done and dusted within 14 days and issued a ban and/or fine to him. At least everyone would have known what is the case. Instead 6 months on and it's still not sorted. No wonder no one takes this sport seriously.
  18. I am struggling to understand the big issue with everyone here. He is free to do what he likes with who he rides for. If hes met British rules with his passport to have the average then hes played by the rules. If he wants to ride for Germany under his license then so be it. Just thinking to cricket for a moment where we have lots of other nationality's playing for the English side because they feel they benefited from coming here under our system and choose to play for England. There is no difference to what Lambert is choosing to do at this moment in time. Why would he not want to be loyal and return the favour to those that have shown him loyalty and helped him develop. Some people have worked really hard to help his career unfortunately by rules it hasnt been the BSPA, where as in Germany hes received some backing so I fully understand his decision to remain loyal to them. Listening to a pod cast Lambert done a few weeks ago for the local press was really worth the listen and he made similar points then but in a very calm manner, which I feel in the written press it can come over like he was ranting and raving as you make up your own minds to how it was being said. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/kings-lynn-stars/west_norfolk_sports_podcast_special_in_depth_interview_with_teenage_speedway_ace_robert_lambert_1_3346340 That is the link to the mentioned podcast. The only problem he is going to have is that with his undoubted talent he is going to become marmite person. Articles like this are not going to help that but hopefully his riding will gain him fans again. He is only a teenager coming into an adult sport, he needs support from everyone to help him achieve as if he gets lots of abuse then I reckon you could see him stick 2 fingers up at this country and only ride in Denmark, Poland, Germany, Sweden. Now that would be a shame especially when we have lost so many good riders who choose not to ride in the elite league now.
  19. Dont often post on here but as I was there last night as a neutral I feel I should. First of all congratulations Mildenhall on the win overall, it was a tough fight back and when the 8-1 went against you in heat 11 I thought it was over so credit there for fighting to the end. Also a special mention to the track staff at Lynn and all riders for getting a meeting in last night. For the first few heats I stood along the back straight and I see Kirby fall down on turn 3, now he was excluded which was a little unfortunate as he definately got a good bump which helped him go down. How ever the ref excluded him and that was it, next up was Morris on turn 1 now from our view it looked like he got pushed a bit wide and couldnt hold on how ever once we moved round to turn 1&2 and started talking to a couple of people they said he got bumped a bit too. So this was a bit unfortunate, turns out these couple of people were in fact Dudley fans and they both said its unfortunate but that probably evens things up from last night. (I obviously didnt see the meeting from the previous night so couldnt tell you if this was true or not) I would also add here when he didnt get up I remember seeing one fan jumping down the terrace right to the fence and was obviously shouting something at him and making a gesture Anyway onto heat 15, both Dudley boys gated onto a 5-1 and Nielsen was left trailing but coming down the back straight and around turn 3 & 4 you could tell he was the quicker rider. From our view it looked like he was going to try pierce the gap but then as the riders exit you could see more clearly he was just going wider and was the quicker rider about to take over Roynon, unfortunately at this time Roynon was trying to close off the gap a bit but then the collision happened. Now chatting to the same Dudley fans as before we were saying how on earth you could you say someone is directly at fault for that as it is a racing incident and it happens but we knew someone would have to be excluded. At this time we heard over the tannoy that the ref was looking at video footage and we was abit like hmm thats strange and an unusual step but understood because of the consequences. We then see the white light flashing which was the first time any exclusion light came on for heat 15. After a couple of minutes one of them got a text from a friend saying he had decided to exclude Nielsen but after viewing replays he changed his mind. In my opinion the ref got it correct, how ever I dont get why he did not use video footage for other incidents. What I will say is the support given to both teams was terrific, I go and watch the stars most weeks and can honestly say I have not heard support like that all season. It has made me want to go see a few more meetings with Dudley and Mildenhall featuring as it was a good atmosphere for a lot of the meeting and such passion that you dont see week in week out. Despite the weather and unusual ending it was a great meeting to watch as a neutral. There was no rider with any malicious intent out there last night and all of the falls were accidents and not much you could do about it, the boys were going for it as they had worked for it all season. It was a great advert for National League speedway so please embrace it and not try and pick the bones out of it.
  20. Ah right I didnt know that. To be honest I dont follow speedway that much, watch main events and being from kings lynn I follow there results. Been to last 2 world cup meetings and the elite pairs, so I am not that knowledgeable about other things. Just thought I would mention what happened as no one else has and sky didnt show it. Love coming on here though to see the reaction of people there and not there. Very entertaining.
  21. Was at the meeting last night and watched a bit of it on tv when I got home last night. People moaned on here about Tai calling the Drymels sisters, how ever sky failed to show that after Tais 2nd exclusion one of them came out and ran at Tai as he was riding his bike back in and obviously said something. You can here the crowd in the background giving it the ooooooohhhhsssss. Surprised sky didnt show that little incident. Poland were a class above tonight, they were flying out the gates it seemed for first half of the meeting.
