  1. Maybe looking at Joe Jacobs as a potential no. 7?
  2. We already have a guest pool - it's called the SGB Championship.
  3. King is on 6.66 - probably around what he would average next season so ok, but not great value. Personally, I'd be happy to stick with Nilsson, Bjerre, Riss, and Bates, and see who fits in the last spot when the assessed average are known. At the lower end, they have to look for riders that will put something on their starting average, and I don't see Jacobs or Auty doing that at Leicester.
  4. Could be a rider who has been signed for 2018, new sponsor, track alterations being made, new stand being constructed, a sun block being put up...the possibilities are almost endless.
  5. For now I would go for: * Different race nights for Premiership and Championship, no Premiership fixtures clashing with FIM/SEC events - solves the issue of riders missing due to fixture clashes. * Only allow doubling up and guest rides for riders who make British speedway their priority, whatever nationality they are * Explore opportunities for getting more speedway on TV, e.g. second and third tier meetings on Freesports, and get race videos on social media rather than links to pages with the videos on. Increasing interest in speedway is the key to its survival. * Scrap tactical rides and go back to the old T/S rule. * All guests in Premiership meetings to be drawn from Championship riders without a current Premiership team - with reduced doubling up and no fixture clashes there should be plenty to choose from, or failing that, limit guests from other Premiership clubs to when a no. 1 is missing. Riders riding for one team one week then riding for the opposition the next week makes British speedway look a joke. .
  6. Since there's no longer a good reason for Przedpelski to not be riding - surely he's got to either be deemed to be withholding his services, or else it's a NL guest for him?
  7. Neither - if a rider is missing they should use a Championship guest who doesn't ride for a Premiership team.
  8. I'd go any day if I was to get to see a genuine contest between a full home team and a full away team, something we've rarely (if ever) seen this season.
  9. 2 or even 3 nights for the top league could work, avoiding Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, and the championship can ride on the other 4 or 5 days. Doesn't seem too difficult, and fans would get to see their own riders (and full visiting teams) most of the time rather than teams full of guests. If there are championship teams that couldn't move race day to suit this, then we just need a rule that premiership clubs get priority on doubling-up riders on premiership race days.
  10. The latter. Clean Cut Sports presumably keeping the best heats for DVD purchasers.
  11. Nice to see Lions get a convincing win but really not much of a spectacle, and to top it off we had to put up with Peter Yorke presenting it. Credit goes to Dan Bewley for an excellent guest performance.
  12. Newman and Riss will be the reserve pair from Friday. Sedgmen is now available and could be an option
  13. Lions have signed Newman, replacing Ayres, presumably effective from tomorrow or he wouldn't fit.
  14. Surely it cannot be? A full Lions line-up tomorrow. LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Erik Riss, Jason Garrity, Lasse Bjerre, Danny King, Josh Bates, Danny Ayres BELLE VUE: Nick Morris, Steve Worrall, Josh Grajczonek, Justin Sedgmen, Kenneth Bjerre, Dan Bewley, Jack Smith.
  15. I didn't think it made sense to stick with a Saturday race night, but even if you do, surely it's not that difficult to avoid dates when your own riders might be involved in other competitions?
  16. Leicester: 1, Josh Bates, 2. Chris Widman, 3. Richard Hall, 4. Tom Woolley, 5. Matt Williamson, 6. Kyle Bickley and 7. Luke Woodhull. Cradley Heath: 1. Max Clegg, 2. Conor Dwyer, 3. Tom Perry, 4. Dan Greenwood, 5. Danny Ayres, 6. Ryan Burton and 7. Joe Lawlor.
  17. Maybe makes the team stronger, but if you show no loyalty to riders you can expect none in return.
  18. Can't see it myself. Auty would be the obvious one to make way for Lasse and I don't think dropping a British rider, or making team changes this early would go down well.
