Now - Now,. you're being too presumptuous. We're not suppose to guess or imagine the squad. We have to be patient and wait until they decide we should know....

Time British Speedway went AMATEUR

Spot on !!! What a pity there was not a voice on the BSPA like 'mikebv' , someone who see the sport as it really is. The sport in this country has been governed by short sighted people for far too long. Only a fool would not grasp the fact that the ends have to met, and when failing to do that there is only one guaranteed outcome. Each year the fans expect wholesale changes but they never come, They appear to sit up in their ivory towers, distancing them from their loyal fan base. believing the 1960s model can still work. Rather than listen to the fans and their comments, they turn a deaf ear...... There's an old saying ' you reap what you sow' and that sure is correct as far as BSPA are concerned.... -
Not sure 'Blinkered' is the right wording.....

I am in no doubt the winner will be Poole …. …. ... again. Fairly , or other wise, the Ref will make another monumental judgement , the rules will be changed to suite and averages will be forgotten in the quest to guarantee them success. If that's not enough, some of the opposing riders will ( fall ) down . Someone said its written in the rules somewhere...….
-
Averages cause more discussions, more arguments, more interpretation ( more rule breaking) than any other part of this sport. The sooner the riders are graded the better..
-
After his performance in last years final, he should never ref another match. A terrible decision that ruined the Play-Offs... Probably not, it just seemed like it. Was hoping for some relevant news but most of it was pages about years gone by... You ought to know by now, rules are changed to suit, whenever the needs be. Rules are only there as a guide and are expected to be broken.... No doubt the double up rules will be altered to suit both clubs.....

There wasn't much in the SS this weeks, Most of the magazine was devoted to being a holiday brochure. Two snippets of information though, was that the second Stars rider announced will be at the weekend, and the third will be released at the T and P night.... At this rate we will probably have to wait till the season starts before knowing the full squad.... Please don't tell me this is being pro-active, or promoting good business sense.... Would much prefer the way the Panther fans are anticipating the new season, than the feeling the Stars supporters are.....

Appreciate your response, No doubt your involvement will now highlight the problem even more. We'll wait and see how long it takes to remedy this problem... Because of your unstinting belief in KLS I believe you would make a brilliant Promotion Officer...
-
Ever the patriot, always looking on the side of the management. but the reality is far different then the world you try to promote. Any chance of reading the program or filling in the scores is curtailed when the darkness falls. For 4 years now, we have complained to Buster, Nathan and Dale about the poor sound quality we get in the Royal Box, but we are still waiting for them to do something about it. We cannot even hear the results, let alone any interviews. If it wasn't for the big screen we would know nothing.. I find this real annoying that we have 750 seats, people paying £1 a head for the privilege and we cant hear a thing, yet on the 3rd corner where the VIPs are stationed, the PA are loud and clear . I wonder how many more years we will have to complain before anything is done about it......
-
And that's the reason why the attendances have dropped over the years.... Making a comment like that, you must be a promoter …..
-
Everybody understands that... Nobody is saying have no intervals. What most people want is for the meeting to flow, with holdups kept to a minimum. What really gets my goat is when we have a long track grade, sometimes as long as 20 mins , then have another race then followed by the planed Interval.. We talk about the fans who don't support the sport anymore, yet the Promoters appear blinded to understanding the reasons why...….
-
You and me both, I don't need an interval to go and buy a drink, but the obvious thinking behind the many lengthy delay is that it gives fan the opportunity , they would otherwise not have. Probably in the warm summer evenings its not so bad, but nobody enjoys standing around in the cold nights watching the tractors going round and round.... What a pity the years program is so directed that we have less meetings in the warm summer months, and the big meetings come at the end of the season when the weather has turned cold... They say the Promoters wants to appeal to the fans but they never think of positives to entice them to come ….
-
The only time when the procedure shows any urgency is when they run double headers. Its such a shame they don't show the same with every meeting... They're tunnel vision is directed only in hanging the meeting out , thus allowing more time to spend your money, whereas the more positive thinking would be aimed at keeping those, in attendance , happy so they attend next time...

Easter Sunday,

If the above is our selected team, then you can forget it. We would struggle to win either home or away.. I cant help thinking that the Managers and Promoters have dropped a massive clanger here. It appears that, while other teams have been busy assembling decent squads the Stars have been twiddling their thumbs believing they've got the job covered. Now looking at the other teams, we are struggling.... If they cant find a decent 2nd heat leader we face the prospect of being a Wooden Spoon challengers, and that not very appealing.

I never mentioned a 'Signing-on-fee' my terminology referred to the contract that he would undoubtedly costs. I don't think Niels was a cast iron signing this year as some seem to think. From my information, the relationship wasn't all harmony towards the end of last season . The state of the track was just a side issue that could have been easily sorted.
-
It serves no purpose to retain the secrecy of the team had it been completed, so my thinking is along the lines that some positions are still to be finalise. I think also there could be concerned, that compared with the strength of those that have been announced, they have had to make some changes from their original thinking..... It was also in my thoughts that Niels was not in their proposed plans, whether it be he not wanting to ride or Lynn wanting to save on his signing fee, but suddenly the powers realise he is desperately needed if Lynn are to have any hope of being competitive. This is putting a whole new emphasis on the necessity of team make-up. My thinking may be completely wrong, but I see no reason why they should keep the team plans a secret, if they had been completed.....

I suggest you read over some of your comments. Disagreeing with opinions is acceptable, but rubbishing their views is being disrespectful, and that isn't... Happy New Year to you anyway.,.....
-
As do you !! Putting a couple of emojis at the end of a sarcastic reply doesn't disguise its intentions. I had given up ever having a discussion with you because of your continue disrespect for anyone who voices opinions against the Stars. It becomes a pointless exercise when you only see in one direction. All your feelings towards the Kings Lynn Stars I have felt them all. Once upon a time they were more important to me than the Lord himself. My life was governed by the exploits of this same club. During this time, I travelled to every venue in the league and never missed a single match for more years than I care to remember. As years started to add up , the family was getting older, I realised there was more to life and reduced the amount of time and money the sport then occupied . Instead of having my head in the clouds I began to see the sport for what it was , and I enjoyed this more believable existence. The pure ingrediencies of this sport is watching 4 riders on fast machine with no brakes, competing for glory. Witnessing Robert Lambert defying the laws of balance has become an immense pleasure. So I find it insulting, for posters such as yourself, to ridicule my views. In those 54 years of following the Stars , I have seen the Good, the Bad and the Ugly many times. but the one thing I find hard to accept is the continue contempt shown to the fans. We should be the bread and butter of every club, but nobody appear to understand that... Hence, the reasons why I feel the way I do..
-
I prefer if my opinions of you and your posts are not printed. You come across as someone who sees the world through Stars tinted glasses. and your comments are the same . as soon as anyone voices different you jump as to say how dare you. Never have I said there shouldn't be intervals, but when they stretch to 20 mins or sometimes more then I complain. there's an old saying, don't Kill the goose who lays the golden Egg, Buster usually does everything for his own benefit , just a pity some on here cant see it.....
-
Whys that??, He wants the fans to come and pay to watch a good team, More fans ,more money.... Businessman first , Speedway fan second.... Cant knock him for that,
-
No doubt Buster will not credited with three votes, But do you honestly believe Louis and Rathbone will be allowed to vote against him ?? No way would Buster finance a deal and then let them vote him down...… He's not that stupid......
-
You're perception is way out. Its not about being happy, its about appreciating the importance of your fans..... With the right man in charge Lynn Speedway could be the biggest and best club in the land. One that strived in an area that has little to offer. But there never seems any connection from the management, its as though they're not bothered... How can you class last year as a success when we didn't win anything. You, like many on here seem to forget that point. Kings Lynn is not a team destined to be winners. We merely go through the motions as a team quite happily being also-rans. Usually when accidents have happened in the past and a rider is side-lined we have always opted for inadequate or cheap replacements, never once have we gone out and used the opportunity to strengthen our team. Last year was an exception to the rule. To think we can go one better next year is just wishful thinking. Last year was unique, it that many teams struggled to compete with a full team,. Wolves, Swindon, Poole, Belle Vue all experienced problems, we will never get a better opportunity to win but we still blew it.... Unlike some on here I speak as I find, When I see good, I'm the first to say and offer congratulations , but likewise when I see something I think is wrong then I will also speak as such. I don't wear tinted glasses and see the world for what it is . As a motorcycle nut I have witness some fantastic achievements, It was truly magical to see Robert finally come of age last year. He surpass everything that was expected from him. There will not be anyone shouting louder than I when he will inevitably competes in the SGP...
-
Yes , lets look what happened , we started well off the pace, Niels was never there, Rose gave up and Andersen struggled to compete. When the injuries to Andersen and Kerr came we were anchored to the lower regions of the league. It was only the introduction of Riss and MPT that propelled us to the height of league winners. Yes, in that final we were hit by injuries. but we were let down by everyone else, The Managers, the Referee, the BSPA, the rule makers, the guest riders, they all compered to make the final a joke. 53 yrs I had waited for that moment only for it to be turned into a charade. The belief in this sport, I had cherished for all those years was finally destroyed that night... When that integrity goes there is nothing else that matters.... As in all previous, I attended every meeting last year. I did so, knowing the supporters were of little importance to the club, and were usually treated like Mushrooms. Could you ever imagine Theresa May announcing to the media a big decision before letting her Cabinet know, but that what happened to the Stars speedway this week. Of course, all and sundry should know about the acquisition of Robert Lambert , but I feel the fans should have been the first to know . like the olden days when the riders were introduced at a supporters meeting. It was nothing more than I expected from such a secret society.... I'm pleased I feel the way I do. To all those who still go. I wish you all well, but a lot of changes will have to be made before I go again.....
-
There is an old saying 'You reap what you sow' and because of that, as you say, there is so much negatively. Last year wasn't that good, it could have been much better but we messed up when it mattered . To me coming second isn't something to be over joyed about. Since then we have had little to be excited about, all the other teams have been proactive in assembling decent teams, all we have to be positive about is the acquisition of Top Man, Robert Lambert. Making an announcement in the S/S and the EDP before enlightening their own fans, to me speaks volumes, It sure illustrated how little importance the Stars management regard their own supporters. Name another club that has done that...….. As of yet, I have seen very little, for me to be positive ...… Remember the saying.....
