  1. Krasnikov going for a perfect weekend by the look of things. Looking at the stats, 5 wins off Red, 2 each off Blue/White and 0 off yellow. Yesterday it looked like this: Pts Heat Wins 1 27 5 25 % 2 35 7 35 % 3 33 4 20 % 4 25 4 20 % Right - Off to Telford and I'll pick up the results from there! Keep them coming mate!
  2. Thanks for that Doug, had to go shopping this afternoon (if I want to go to Assen and Berlin) so many thanks for the update! By my Spreadsheet I make the standings as follows: 1 Nikolai Krasnikov Rus 25 2 Franz Zorn A 20 3 Danil Ivanov Rus 18 4 Maxim Sakharov Rus 16 5 Stanislav Archipov Rus 14 6 Dmitri Khomitsevich Rus 13 7 Ilya Drozdov Rus 12 8 Pavel Tschajka Rus 11 9 Harald Simon A 10 10 Gunter Bauer D 9 11 Per-Olof Serenius S 8 12 Antonin Klatovsky CzR 7 13 Johnny Tuinstra NL 6 14 Stefan Svensson S 5 15 Dmitri Tschatchin D 4 16 Vitali Khomitsevich Rus 3 Great result for Franky - Krasnikov will be watching out for him now, as Zorn is good around Assen and Berlin. I do think Vitali rode to keep his name on the sheet, as he will sit out Tomorrow, and get two weeks recovery. Aakko to do well tomorrow, f-s-p?

  4. But i hear one will be in the German championship in Berlin Double Drat - I don't fly out until Saturday Morning! As regards the president's Cup, don't they run that meeting on a track withing the track they will use for the World Championships? I'm sure Malcolm (ToonArmy) mentioned this last year. Bad news if Vitali is out but good news for FSP as Antti Aakko will move up. Krasnikov looks like he is stepping up a gear and is out to retain his title. Franky Zorn will also need to step up if he wants to make a challenge this year. Krasnikov to take the weekend, but Zorn and Aakko to be spoilers.
  5. Had a look on Speedway.org as bablefish is playing up. Ht 29 appears to have been Bauer in for Roth, and Roth only scores a single when Tschatschin failed to score in Heat 34. I'll correct my scores.
  6. Final Scores: Russia 56 (27+29) Nikolai Krasnikov 22 (10+12), Stanislaw Arkhipov 10(4+6), Vitali Khomitsevich 24 (13+11) Austria 43 (23+20) Franz Zorn 28 (16+12), Harald Simon 15 (7+8), Josef Kreuzberger dnr Finland 42(19+23) Antti Aakko 29(15+14), Tommy Flyktman 13 (4+9), Kai Lehtinen 0 Sweden 35 (18+19) Per-Olof Serenius 21 (13+8), Stefan Svensson 10 (2+8), Per-Anders Lindström 4 (3+1) Czech Republic 31 (17+19) Antonin Klatovsky 25 (13+12), Jan Klatovsky 6 (4+2), Jan Pecina dnr Germany 29 (14+15) Dmitri Tschatschin 10 (4+6), Andreas Roth 1 (0+1), Gunther Bauer 18 (10+8) Switzerland 16 (8+8) Simon Gartmann 10 (5+5), Lukas Rösti 3 (1+2), Thomas. Cavigelli 3 (2+1) Good fight for second - will Antti and Franky spoil the Russians party next week? EDIT: Scores for Germany corrected
  7. Aakko beating Zorn - bet that was some race (mind you all their races have been good!) Heat 38 should be interesting, Russia v Austria - Russia beat the Austrians 5-1 yesterday. Reversal today?
  8. An interesting first day, with the Russians scoring well but the three dropped points mean their perfect score last year won't be repeated. The Austrians are scoring well, with Franky laying his Russian jinx of a few years back well behind him. 'A' Final spots in Saransk for him? Good result for the Finns but the German score is poor for them and means they have loads of work to do tomorrow. Looking forward to tomorrow's result. Is there any TV coverage of the meeting on line? EDIT: Some great pics from Saturday on the Russian Forum
  9. Well if you didn't know, there would be a serious communication breakdown! So any news on who will fill the last spot, Joni?
  10. The line up so far for the Roelof Thijs Bokaal at Assen on Friday 7th March: 1. Simon Gartmann CH 2. Joakim Söderström S 3. Joni Kontoniemi SF 4. René Stellingwerf NL 5. Sergei Baltchev Rus 6. Josef Kreuzberger A I think they may add a couple of Russians - they have in previous years, and I hope Graham Halsall gets a ride. Only three weeks to go! EDIT: Russians Added

  12. Change to the Austrian WTC side - Franky Zorn will ride at No. 3, Harald Simon at 4, with Josef Kreuzberger at 16. Considering Franky said he didn't want to ride the Austrians now look a formidable side, and a rostrum spot is possible
  13. Some nice pics from Inzell on the Sports Illustrated web site - makes a change from all the US Sports they cover ceaselessly! Sports Illustrated
  14. I heard from Roger Newton that there is a meeting planed for Norway on 2nd March, which he has tentatively entered. Anyone know any more about it (venue/line up etc)? Can't find anything at the moment
  15. In that case, he can hardly be first on the substitute list, as that injury is likely to rule him out for the rest of the Ice season.
  16. Speedway.org is where I read the FIM reply about Johnny T. and that Laguta was in the championship. So reading that, Tuinstra is through and that Flyktman isn't (6th @ Inzell) but Laguta (6th @ Saalfelden) and Aakko (6th @ Stockholm) are reserves. Maybe I misread that Johnny was reserve, but surely Laguta is reserve for R1 rather than Flyktman. Or have the FIM moved the goalposts again?
  17. What a result for Franky - Sanok cup, Semi Final and European Champion. This is his first major title, and should set him up well for the World Championships. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITORS 2008 AUSTRIA: Franz Zorn, Harald Simon CZECH REP: Antonin Klatovsky GERMANY: Dmitri Tschatschin, Gunter Bauer LATVIA: Grigory Laguta RUSSIA: Danil Ivanov, Dmitri Khomitsevich, Ilya Drozdov, Maxim Sakharov, Nikolai Krasnikov, Pavel Tschajka, Stanislav Arkhipov, Vitali Khomitsevich SWEDEN: Per-Olof Serenius, Stefan Svensson FINLAND: Antti Aakko (Res R1) NETHERLANDS: Johnny Tuinstra (Res R1)

Soon as I get the full results I'll post them. No real surprises though!
  19. In that case the Final should look like this: 1. Dmiyri Tschatchin (D) 2. Antonin Klatovsky (CzR) 3. Harald Simon (A) 4. Grzegorz Knapp (Pol) 5. Nikolai Ryabokon (Rus) 6. Franz Zorn (A) 7. Inzell Semi Day one after 12 heats: Krasnikov9, Bauer 8, Sakharov 8, Arkipov 8, Tommy 6 ------------------, Skabraut 5, PA Lindstrom 5, Svensson 4 osv These results are on the Russian Forum but they appear to have got them from somewhere else. What does osv mean please? No idea what the othger scores are but Krasnikov wants to keep his title by the look of things
  22. The information in Speedway Star came from Polish reporter Wojtek Szoltysek who writes: "The well appointed and well organised natural ice circuit at Sanok" I think he should know about the tracks in his own country, don't you?
  23. According to Speedway Star Sanok is a natural Ice Track.
