  1. Any predictions about how this weekend will go? I think the top 5 will be: 1) Bulankin 2) Krasnikov 3) Baseev 4) Zorn 5) Serenius with Antti Aakko making headway in the top 10. With Franky and Posa in a top 5 position, the Assen weekend should be brilliant. The only problem will be that Franky has had no luck in Russia for a few years now.
  2. Malcolm - make sure to introduce yourself to me I'll be there on the Friday taking pics. Say hello to Mark for me too! I thought he may have come along as a supporter. Good point - last years Berlin Crowd was down on previous years I understand simply because Bauer wasn't riding.
  3. Malcolm (Toonarmy084) posted elsewhere on the forum that Robert Eibl, Slava Nikulin and Tommy Flyktman had withdrawn from the GSS. I can see why in the case of Slava and Tommy being in the World Championship, but as Eibl is reserve, doesn't make much sence to me. Unless the DMSB don't want another situation where their top rider is injured (as with Bauer last year) and robs them of a fighting chance of having a German World Champion. Either way, with those three out of the running, it moves everone up a few places - In Graham's case he moves to 7th position, which is even better for him. A top 5 place is not unrealistic at this stage! (BTW Malcolm - are you and your dad going to be there too?)
  4. Ice Racing meeting 18.2.06 - looks like Klabo is on a roll this year, pity he can't transfer this sort of form to his World Championship rounds. From Inspeed.de Complete Results: Heats: 01. 5. I know I've asked this in the International Section, but with the Assen Ice Speedway meeting less than four weeks away, I was wondering who else was going to be there apart from myself and the Edinburgh contingent? I'm staying at the Mercure Hotel at the Martiniplatz in Groningen, so if you are there with Eurorider or Travel Plus you are staying at that Hotel. Failing that I'm the photographer with the glasses and my new Russian Fur Hat so i'm easily spotted. The bar under the home straight is a good place to meet (where I met Midnight Lady, Pammie and King Jamie last year) so if a Forum get together is planned I will try and pop in to see you inbetween getting kicked out of the Pits and blagging a bib for the centre for the first few races. If you are going for the Friday Night, remember that Graham Halsall is flying the flag for GB in the Golden Spike Racing that night, and has had his best season ever so far with a 5th place on Saturday in Divisov. We should get behind him give him that boost to score well.

  7. Forgot to add - the next Round of the Golden Spike is FRIDAY 10th March in Assen, where the riders will compete for the Roelof Thijs Bokaal whilst scoring GSS points. If you are going to Assen and are able to get to the Friday Meeting, then we should give Graham Halsall the most support he has had the entire series. He has improved as the GSS has gone on, and currently lies in ninth place. I'm sure with a large number of British fans behind him, he will do even better!

  10. With the meeting about three weeks away, maybe they'll make the draw next week. You may find out more from the Assen organisers if you give them a call. They usually know what's going on. Unless Iris123 has been testing his Russian again on the forums there....
  11. Looks like I'm going to give Berlin a miss this year, combination of looking for a new job (part time) and lack of funds for the flight. I'd love to be there, but not this year I'm afraid

  13. Thanks for that - I was using the German-English section of my son's dictionary which he is using for GCSE. My German is somewhat lacking and I do refer to that when I'm stuck. Mind you I can order beer!

Krasnikov did well to recover from his opening rides where he fell. Zakharov having a good meeting too, as is Baseev. They do it all again tomorrow to get to the Final. On this form, Franky looks good for the Final in Russia, but Eibl needs to do something special to make the Final to give Slava some company.

  16. MODERATOR Duplicate Topic - can you delete please?

Interesting that Helmut Weber is riding again - not seen him ride for a few years and I thought he'd given up, to coach his sons (who he will race against).
  20. I'll miss these guys on the Circuit this year - and I'm sure I'm not alone. The dispute between the federations has robbed the fans outside Russia!
