  1. I would be extremely surprised if what you 'hope' happens, they aren't exactly known for condemnations or passing opinions. Doubtless Philip will be on later to refute this.
  2. But the point is it was done to aid someone who is sponsored by the same company (who pulls the strings?), it might have affected someone's betting and the subsequent walk out robbed spectators of what they had paid to see. Fair enough if you can see similar events by other riders but that doesn't justify what he did.
  3. I started in the 50s at Belle Vue and Odsal. Later mostly Halifax but fairly regularly at most of the northern tracks and once or twice a year to London, Wembley and maybe the Internationale at Wimbledon.
  4. It might not have if things don't start happening soon.
  5. That happens in all sports, it is after all a competition. If it wasn't for them you wouldn't have had those 50 years.
  6. The sport is hardly in a position to further alienate any promoters. That would be akin to cutting your own heart out because you don't like the beat.
  7. They are all shareholders, anyone can apply to be be listed as promoter, so circumstances might change at some time.
  8. So much for the "sensible replies."
  9. We should have an English GP at BV. Besides the British one at Cardiff, other countries have more than one.
  10. Didn't they actually have a pre-meeting a few months ago, if that be the case I would imagine they already have plans under consideration?
  11. Sadly we have no other rider near that level, Robert was last in the GP challenge and I think it's too early in his development.
  12. Exactly! Chief Parsons will be arranging next years result as we speak (after he's decided who gets the wildcards).
  13. Yes but there are already a number of Poles qualified.
  14. What happened (after the event) was within the rules. I'm not a member of the 'Hancock hate brigade' but I do remember the amount of damage that previous cheating incidents caused, it was even used as an excuse by mainstream TV when they stopped showing Speedway. I also remember the drop in crowd numbers when a number of 'top' riders admitted fixing results, those numbers never recovered. There is also the question of taking bets on a 'fixed' meeting and riders walking out on people who have paid a lot of money to see them.
  15. "You cost me a team place so I'm going to invite you to take shares and the managers job in the club I'm hoping to buy".......Eh?
  16. It's called 'thinking on your feet' (while he was standing in the pits presumably).
  17. "Morris and the Ref" aren't as gullible as some.
  18. Better late than never! I condemn ALL cheating and always have. That was the excuse used by a national TV channel when asked why they had stopped covering Speedway " It's fixed." Why is this odious Monster Joe allowed in the pits, he serves no practical purpose whatsoever? Today was just another nail in the coffin of what is just a fairground sideshow.
