Oh Cookie, what a waste of a gate 1
-
I see that Woffy got a jammy draw..Boo! Heat 2 should be a belter

I'd say that Nicki has always had a considerable advantage on that side of things, with him being quite mental to begin with..

I guess we all have pet names

I was always a fan of Nigel but he does seem to be making more and more mistakes with riders names and scorelines these days. A classic example being last night with, "the score is Leicester 44 and Swindon 31 as we head into the final heat," he even said it twice without realising his mistake! I think even Kelvin gets a bit fed up with his daft questions sometimes, because he tends to go silent. I think they've started to overdo the 'matey banter' bit and subsequently they miss a lot of what happens on-track. The best commentating I've heard was when Chris Louis teamed up with Tatum at the SWC a few years ago...I didn't need to touch my volume control once!

I think Danny King could get some part-time work as a magician after that coin toss! -
So you're saying the only riders getting less support at Cardiff than our 2-times world champion are 14 foreigners...hardly something to crow about, is it?
-
I personally hope Tai gets nowhere near another world title...each to their own I guess.
-
Hopefully Dudek will have a stinker and Doyley can take control on his way to a well deserved world title. I would love Cookie to win but let's face it, that's not gonna happen. I'll settle for him to outscore Woffinden.

I'm guessing they meant that 1995 was the last time we won a medal outside of merry old England.

I don't think Australians are too intimidated by the Poles..Boyce and Gollob showed us that -
Tai Woffinden in the studio during world cup week could spark some lively debate

You do realise the riders responsible for Doyle spending so much time in hospital were Hancock, Lindgren and Miedzinski don't you? I think somebody else sees whatever they want to see too! -

Poland will dominate this event for years to come, just like Denmark did in the 80's. -

Only Bomber and Worral have come out of tonight with any credit. Although Stevie has got away with a couple of rollers! -

Ah here we go. Beer, curry and speedway-the holy trinity..the three things that make life bearable -
I can't recall those three ever refusing to play for their country..

Yeah fair enough. Just realised that Emil wears his own colours-although he's probably exempt! Great to see the Aussies getting shoved from pillar to post in the last couple of races -

They'll have to whip up a team racesuit for young Chugunov for tomorrow -
I remember the Golden Jubilee meeting at Hackney in Feb 78 (the coldest meeting I've been to, and that includes the 88 ice final!) All the riders were riding the vintage machines from the 20's/30's and 40's. Most of the riders were trying to ride the old bikes in their usual riding style, and not doing too well.. The only rider who looked totally at home was Barry Thomas who really got into the spirit and rode like a pioneer leg-trailer. I often felt that Thommo's riding style would have been more suited to the early years of the sport!

I blame Little Miss Muffet for the cobweb situation at King's Lynn. -

You're not still banging that drum are you? I think it's safe to say that if the 2015 final wasn't re-run with Cookie a mile in front, Tai would have found a way to get to Belle Vue last year to win it back. This way he could retire as the undefeated champion. -

Just as long as they still wanted to ride in the British Final and SWC I think most fans would understand.
