Ah bless!! He was doing so well......lots of big words..an attempt at humour, all designed to disguise his natural hurt at the hell of a beating his team suffered on Thursday. Then he introduces a new word "phorensic", which sadly upsets the balance of his otherwise excellent effort. Perhaps the little dear intended to write FORENSIC? We can but speculate!!! -

There's nothing wrong with passion and standing ones corner. However when this comes at the cost of chanting the same mantra despite all the evidence to the contrary, you can forgive some for drawing the conclusion that he is nothing more than a troll. As a result of this one gains the impression that he may not be the sharpest knife in the box. This may be totally unfair, but the chain of events on Thursday is now blindingly obvious, and the difficulty he his having in recognising this, questions his ability to sort facts. The most simple piece of cognitive analysis should by now have identified the two separate dynamics of this dispute. Whether his failure to recognise this is down to a lack of intelligence, ignorance, or just sheer bloody mindedness is anyone's guess!!!!! -

As indeed are the effects of long term alcohol use. As with most things used in moderation, both can help an individual's well being. Indeed cannabis is often prescribed for those individuals who sadly suffer from MS. Perhaps blupanther needs to do a little further research!!! -
Come on guys give ekimba a break. He just seen his side take one hell of a beating, and in the process get smashed out of the Cup. In order to cheer himself he has given it a go at trying to be funny. OK he's not very good, but let's not discourage him completely. Mind you based on the above he is to comedy what Cook is to tact and diplomacy!!!!!

It never ceases to amaze me how people read different things into the same post. I didn't for one moment think that the above comment had anything to do Hillsborough. I saw it as a comparison by the way Liverpool fans react when one of their players get themselves into trouble. Suárez is seen by millions on television biting an opponent, yet according to some Rabid Scousers it was all down to what Ivanović did. Similarly he's found guilty of being a racist, yet these same Liverpool morons blame Evra, presumably for being French!!!!! In the same way some of the more imbecilic members of the Monarchs faithful are attempting to deflect attention away from the moronic and cretinous actions of Cook. -

Not exactly my newspaper of choice, sadly The Guardian would be unlikely to cover it, but The Sun is Britain's biggest selling newspaper......so for a lot of folk they must be doing something right!!!!! As P T Barnham once said: "'There's no such thing as bad publicity". -

Facts are difficult as there were only three people in the room where the incident occurred. However from those that I have spoken to who were in earshot, suggest it was Cook's voice was the one the could be heard. Not sure exactly what was said....although he was "emotional" suggesting he was having no LUCK as a result of NatWest being unhelpful bunch of BANKERS, and was off tho relax on the Cam in a PUNT. Of course it could all be a wicked conspiracy cooked (excuse the pun) up between Messrs Barker & Holt to discredit Cook. The facts are that the referee dealt with the initial incident, and correctly punished both riders accordingly. Now if Cook had an IQ slightly above that of a retarded hedgehog, he would have listened to what the referee had to say. The appropriate response would have been "Yes Sir", "Sorry Sir", "Won't happen again Sir". Instead he goes off on one, and gets himself disqualified from the meeting. Now Barker (whom I'm no particular fan of) at least had the good sense to keep his gob shut, and as result his team are now in the final in convincing style. To draw a simple analogy let's say you get involved in an altercation outside a pub. A police officer witnesses the whole affair, and pulls you and the other party aside for "a natter". He says he going to issue a fixed penalty notice and caution both of you. At that news you go off on start swearing and in a fit of temper throw a dustbin to the ground. Can you really be surprised that the other fella is off home, whilst you spend the night in the cells? I've no idea if Cook is an imbecile or has anger management issues. Either way an individual who can't control his behaviour, is hardly the sort of bloke you want in charge of a 500cc motorcycle with no brakes in the company of others. Hopefully a suspension until the end of the season will allow him to reflect on his issues / demons. Swearing and pulling a heater off the wall can easily be described (by most right thinking people anyway) as ungentlemanly and violent conduct. -

The injured party was the referee. He had gone to do a job. He acted decisively in respect of the initial incident. Unfortunately, whether due to a lack of intellectual capacity or anger management issues, Cook refused to accept what the referee was trying to tell him. Instead of behaving as most sensible people would in those circumstances, in a magnanimous contrite manner, the yobo in Cook came out and a torrent of foul abuse and criminal damage ensued. So this weaselly statement he issued should of at least included an unreserved apology to the referee that had suffer his loutish behaviour. Fortunately the referee has acted impeccably. Both riders were fined for their part in the initial incident. Apart from removing him from the meeting, the referee did not impose further sanctions on Cook. This gives the authorities the opportunity to impose further sanctions against the miscreant Cook. A ban until the end of the season may provide him with the opportunity to reflect on his anger management issues. -

With acknowledgement (and apologies) to legendary sports commentator Bjørge Lillelien: "Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Andy Murray, William Wallace, Robert Burns, Bonnie Prince Charlie, Wee Jock Poo-pong McPlop, we have beaten them all, we have beaten them all. Alex Salmond can you hear me? Alex Salmond........ your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating!" -
Think he's riding in the World Longtrack Series. Certainly he was at Marmande on Bastille day.

Someone throw this man a lifebelt, before he sinks without trace. It now transpires that he meant Millfields all along. Just as well I mentioned it on an earlier post!!! There will be those, of course, who will find it surprising that he knows that Orient played at Millfields until 1930, but then didn't know they moved from there to play at the Lea Bridge Stadium for seven seasons. It's a pity that he didn't mention Millfields in the first place, as it was a result of his initial vague and inaccurate comment, that gave rise to this idle speculation. Anyway its all been settled now. Despite Parsoles initial protestations it has been established beyond doubt that the Lea Bridge Stadium staged both speedway and football. Pity he then had to go and make things up in an attempt to deflect attention away from the fragility of his own position.
-
Hallelujah!!! Mr P finally acknowledges that both speedway and football took place at the old Lea Bridge Stadium. Clearly something of an epiphany, and although it took a while, it's better late never!!! Sadly instead of simply stating that he got it wrong, he attempts to deflect attention away from his own embarrassment and ignorance, by accusing another member of getting things wrong. If we remember Mr P's original intervention: "Don't think you're right about Lea Bridge though. The dog track/Speedway NOT the same as Clapton Orient's nearby football ground". As Clapton Orient didn't have a "nearby ground", one could only speculate on the rationale for this inane rambling. Of course had he mentioned Leyton FC's Hare & Hounds ground in the first place any potential confusion could have been avoided. However he didn't, referring only to "Clapton Orient's nearby ground. At no time did I suggest that Clapton's ground "was a few yards away", something Mr P has made up to draw attention away from his own shortcomings. I merely suggested that Clapton's ground was nearby.... and in my book a ground some three miles away is nearby. Anyway all's well that ends well, as Mr P has finally accepted that speedway and football coexisted at Lea Bridge Stadium. Pity he wasn't more circumspect initially, as it would have saved him from looking rather silly!!!

Not way out, but spot on old boy. Some elementary research may have helped save your continued embarrassing inaccurate ramblings. Orient vacated Millfields Road stadium in 1930 for Lea Bridge Road, an established speedway stadium with an overall capacity for around 20,000. After the seventh home League match in November 1930, Torquay United, after their 4-0 defeat, complained that the fencing around the ground was to near the touchline, so when Orient were ordered by the Football League to extend the narrow pitch within seven days, the club found themselves banned from using their new ground. An amazing interim measure for two League matches was taken whereby Orient arranged a temporary move to the famous Wembley Stadium. In the meantime, the Lea Bridge Road pitch was adapted to form a proper home. Although attendances rarely rose above 7,000 the local derby against Millwall in March 1937 produced an unmanageable 20,288 crowd, frequently forced to invade the pitch with no room to move. This event made Orient anxious to move from this unsatisfactory home and coincidentally another club’s misfortunes became beneficial. Financial problems of the amateur team Leyton FC who were playing at Osborne Road, later known as Brisbane Road, provided the answer. A suitable agreement was made and the first game at the new home was played in August 1937 under the name Clapton Orient. A new name Leyton Orient was officially adopted on 2 October 1946. Source: http://thebeautifulhistory.wordpress.com/clubs/leyton-orient/ As for the Old Spotted Dog, I know exactly where it is, having played there and officiated at the ground, albeit more years ago than I care to admit to, on several occasions. All I was doing was speculating on a reason for your initial confused and inaccurate comments. After all the Old Spotted Dog is massive three and half miles from Lea Bridge Road...... not exactly way out!!!! Anyway I hope this helps.

Orient played at Lea Bridge between 1930 and 1937, however Orient also played at Wembley Stadium and Highbury due to Lea Bridge Stadium being deemed as unsafe for spectators (a complaint over perimeter fencing which meant that pitch invasion frequently occurred). Lea Bridge gates averaged 7000, and in 1936/1937 Orient's match versus Millwall attracted the ground's highest attendance, 20.400. But the club was never happy at the speedway stadium, and in 1937 rode their final move to Brisbane Road, a mile away in Leyton renaming themselves Leyton Orient. I think you were getting confused with Clapton FC who play at the Old Spotted Dog a short distance from Lea Bridge Stadium. Clapton FC still play to this day at the ground currently in the Essex Senior League.

Such a sad comment, and what's more totally wrong. To illustrate his ignorance these are the latest BARB ratings for the week ending 14/7/2013. Live Speedway - Poole v. Wolves 45,000 The Top ten ITV 4 programmes for that week all had audiences in excess of 320,000. Indeed even the time delayed ITV4+1 had an audience in excess of the speedway!!! I notice that that once again the anonymous and pusillanimous hand of moderation has been in action again. Of course these faceless guardians of good taste and morality, have not shown the common decency to explain why they found it necessary to edit the post. I understand that when you join a club you accept the rules of that club, but having checked the Forum Posting Guidelines, I cannot understand what rules I've breached. This time it was felt necessary to edit and delete the phrases: Now without an explanation one can only speculate. Was it just ignorance, a fear of what they didn't understand or some perverse form of xenophobia?

I think if AFC Wimbledon are now the "darlings of Merton Council", then it is something that's long overdue. In the past the council have treated the football fans of Wimbledon pretty shabbily, so hopefully they plan to redress the balance. Remember Wimbledon were a first division / premier league team in 1991, when their owner decided to move them across London to Crystal Palace. Then in 2002, as a Championship team (2nd tier of English football) they were reallocated to Milton Keynes. So what did their fans do? Whinge about it on Fans Forums, petition the local council? ......yes of course they did. But some of them were not going to be beaten. They got off their backsides and did something about it. They formed a new club, and joined a league in the 9th tier of English football. Through sheer hard work they fought their way back to regain their league status. All this with little or no support from the local council. So personally I think those AFC Wimbledon fans deserve the right to play once again in the borough, and to have a Plough Lane address would be magical.
-
Because of its location, those in the know suggest that stockcars at Wimbledon has a very short shelf life. Since the introduction of the London Emissions Zone, there has been a steady decline in the numbers of drivers booking in, as costs are making it prohibitive. Indeed it's been suggested that the stadium improvements at Foxhall have been done to accommodate more car racing when Spedeworth pull the plug at Plough Lane. On a personal level I would love to see AFC Wimbledon playing again at Plough Lane, which would be a fantastic reward for those loyal Dons fans.

So judging by other, possibly more informed comment, it appears that cup matches ARE NOT ALWAYS RE-RUN OVER TWO LEGS. Interesting.
