  1. Sorry? What don't you understand about 'the track was the best its been all season'!? By definition that means the track has been below-par all season - something that I and most Poole fans and riders have been saying persistently since April!! The main problem has been the inconsistency from week to week. ie never the same from one meeting to the next which is partly why Poole's home record has been quite dire this season. In the Poole programme last night there is an interesting Q and A with Chris Holder who has come out and complained about the state of all EL tracks compared to what they race on abroad - particularly Poland. Most riders, using the current equipment, prefer a smooth, slick(er) surface with just a little dirt. If there is too much dirt and if its over watered, riders hit the heavy stuff and have to shut off, losing speed, power and often the race. Last night at Poole was nothing like that!!
  2. What absolute b/s. The track was the best its been all season. No passing??? Or maybe you meant no passing by any Coventry riders - except Nicholls - despite their very best efforts!! ....and yes I was actually there, not watched it on TV!!
  3. Oh yes Cook rides the Poole track so well!!?? Scotty should get the wild card.

  5. Practice is on the day from 12 noon. Gates open to the public at 4pm (1600 hrs) with first race scheduled for 6.30pm (1830 hrs). Not sure what they will do about parking on a busy Bank Holiday Saturday as the main car park is usually full of shoppers??!!
  6. And to end it all, Belle Vue appoint Cook as Captain!!!
  7. Tungate got a 15 point max and a place in the final!!
  8. Interesting to see in the long run, who has the biggest balls (BSI or OneSport) with Eurosport??!!!
  9. But then Barker gets into all sorts of situations that he shouldn't do!!
  10. Surprised Steve0 didn't put Swindon down for 4!!!!
  11. Could be an away win then??!! Is Gollob riding? assuming his bad back isn't too bad!!!!!??
  12. Team GB have little team spirit because of too many 'issues' between the riders - whoever the manager selects!! Morris doesn't get the results that Brummies achieve through good team spirit, especially the british boys!! He gets it from great performances from an Aussie, German and Italian!! With weakened Aussie and Swedish teams, Middlo and Morris thought they had a decent chance to do well this year! We were never going to win it and imo we should have started the rebuilding process by tracking Woffy and the untried youngsters. (ps. Great to read that Woffy is starting his Speedway Academy next year for young Brits! - It was in yesterday's Sun so it must be true!!)
  13. Surely this 'campaign' should become the remit of the newly formed 'Speedway Parliamentary Group' announced by BSPA this week!!
  14. I put this on the other thread as it seems just as relevant - with or without Middlo/Morris!! "I don't see why the BSPA should have (or want) the responsibility of the National team - whatever its called??! For most of them it doesn't do anything for their day-to-day speedway businesses either in the short or long term under current rules!! Maybe the ACU or this new 'Parliamentary Speedway Group' should take it under their wing, with separate management, development, training, sponsorship and funding!!? "
