  1. I'm ever so grateful that speedway is now introduced to us Finnish people... EDIT: Video from Hautamäki's helmet cam EDIT2: Kylmäkorpi had found the stadion after I left, another video at their facebook site. EDIT3: According to the grapevine, they've been given the permission to widen the track at Ratina by a metre or two. Thats excellent news!
  2. They had a a few riders training at the track tonight. Juha Hautamäki, Nike Lunna and Joni Keskinen were riding. Kylmä was supposed to be there but wasnt. It's been raining for a while and the track was pretty soft, so they didnt/couldnt ride flat out. Hautamäki said it was a bit narrow, but the shape was pretty ok. Its basically your running track, theyve taken it out in the bends but the inside line is that of the running track. It's 14 meters wide in the middle of the bend, 10 meters going in/ coming out (I was told by one of the crew) The material is "homemade" and the chatacteristics of it sounded good, just that they were not to be seen today cos of the rain. They are not covering it at all for the winter. There are plans to have a winter park (another promoter) at the stadium with skiing, ice hockey, snowboarding and stuff like that during the winter. The gravel in the middle in some pics will host an ice hockey match this december between the two local teams in the national champs league.
  3. actually when comparing all those, PZ has a point regarding torun.
  4. Wouldnt lose any sleep over those pics. Once they get started with the renovation, it's plain sailing till it's done. The GP is in August, and they had new material already in Daugavpils for this years meeting... Even if someone pulls the plug by mid July, they'll just transfer it to Daugavpils... Really cant see any problem over this, though it looks pretty bad.
  5. The organizer paid the points money to riders as listed in the rulebook. For a euro quali it was something like 10 k for the lot. It's all in the rules... The same applied this year for the quali's, SEC/OneSport came to play after the ECC when it turned to a championship series.
  6. A battle once already lost, when Ward, Vaculik and Prota all declined a place in the GP in favour of the polish league.
  7. This talk has been going on for maybe a year already, least six months. No way did I see it become a reality with all the talk around SEC and BSI during the season. I think you should put your ear on the ground again and hear for us who is the FIM Europe person that is stirring the pot. EDIT: The CCP has actually had quite a revamp recently. Many faces are now out and the most interesting newcomer for me was Stekkers as a DMU rep!
  8. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/news.php/2013/11/03/isracing-lagen-klara-inf-r-vintern.html 5 team series for the coming winter. I spoke with Seppänen last friday and he said that Svemo have been notified that a Finnish team wants to participate again. Deja vu, me thinks... Didn't they forget Team Finland last year as well.
  9. Even if you do it on the cheap, you still need to score points.
  10. My wife spent last May at home, she could not shut up how wonderful the weather was all that time... Who knows how will it be, there's been great May's in recent years! And there's no Atlantic winds bringing rain like in Göteborg. Speaking of rain, the 1:10 scale rc offroad ep worlds were held at Chico, California last month. They had selected the week according to past 10 years of (no) rain stats. You guessed it, it rained, bad. The did have winners in both classes, but it was all badly affected by rain.
  11. Lets hope so, really! It's 10 meters wide on the straights, and 14 from the bends. I might be wrong about the bends, but thats a number I remember reading somewhere. With those figures it's 98 meters longer than Poole and 2 shorter than Ullevi. Regarding the apex of the turns... CHECK this out and then look at the pic Chris is quoting. The "Tampere" text can be seen on both pics at roughly the same place between turns 1 and 2. EDIT: It was here.
  12. Conkers, on what you base the FIM calendar? Svemo had their isracing möte a few weeks back, looks like only one series this winter, no Elitserien and therefore Hammarby isn't bothered at all.
  13. Not that I'm "in" on this field of expertise (online publishing), but selling/distributing it as .pdf means pretty soon you are only selling one copy... You sure there are no app's that show Yudu? Photon shows Flash videos that safari dont.
  14. The grapevine says all German tracks are withdrawing from next years GP's. Forssa on the other has gone public in their local paper that they are hosting the team final on August 23rd. Now there's a place for you to visit. And no, I cant recommend anything... Other than two different bus companies for transport. http://www.forssanlehti.fi/uutiset/?newstitle=Forssassa+jaetaan+MM-mitalit#.UleB9deImiE.facebook And on a side note I hear that FIM Europe is planning their calendar this coming weekend and FIM Main is doing theirs a month later. So I'd expect after everything is sorted it's mid January before we'll see a calendar that can be called final draft.
  15. Yes, that's how it went. But still I think he was as wild as Andreas Jonsson in the series...
  16. He was and the in the Challenge he finished as 2nd reserve for the series. One thing worth noting is that only 3 qualified subs for next season giving the organizers a bit of room for passing candidates not good enough..."Should any more riders be required as substitutes during the 2014 season, the SGP Commission will nominate the rider."
  17. Tony Olsson saying for Race magazine in Sweden that Laguta was never even asked, just Polish sites stirring... http://www.racemagazine.se/tony-olsson-om-wc-tilldelningen-vi-var-overens-tidigt/
  18. This asking info was from this same thread about a week ago, relied on a polish portal that eventually had 3 from 4 correct...
  19. I honestly thought that Lindback would fit the bill better than the rest of the Swedes and Monster Joe would sort it out... Which is closer to truth then, the FIM/CCP/Castagna blocking Laguta or Laguta himself giving the wildcard a miss?
  20. if Jonsson is in, this is his second consecutive wild card. And yes, you know what I mean.
