  1. I was already prepared to say I'm gonna be wrong! But now checked and the Polish 1st division is riding on May 4th with Lokomotiv having a home meeting against Lodz. Now everyone in favour of having a SEC quali and a league meeting on the same date, hands UP?
  2. Come on bigD... Youre not following...
  3. I actually think scb was implying on the date of the sec quali and me saying it's not on may 4 as one sport says. Havent seen the 17th confirmed anywhere yet. I heard it from a source reliable enough to quote...
  4. They should try something like this: Basic money: For travel and back tyre Y £ For points scored 1-5 points X £ for points 6-9 1,3X £ for points 10-14 1,6X £ max points from five rides 25X £ Or similar. Why not? EDIT: Changed the Basic money
  5. This is British Speedway Forum, the international section. Not just Germans here. Actually there are contributors from around the world (AUS, USA, NZ...) here. You can say it's free tv when you speak/write with just Germans, but you saying it's free doesn't make it free where I live. And not in the UK either. So it's not free!
  6. It's public knowledge he doesnt want to be there. Instead planning to lineup at Daugavpils for the SEC quali, which apparently WILL be held on may 17th, not on may 4th like the sec site said a week ago.
  7. Just read from my email that Kauko Nieminen is #17 and Juha Hautamäki #18 for this meeting. I had a really nice sauna booked for the whole gp weekend, really nicely situated at the city center. Would have welcomed a hundred guests. Had to give it away and having a few drinks with friends instead.
  8. Just occurred that each one that watched the full Smolinski interview count as ten. One viewer is actually two for each answer Smolinski gives... LOL
  9. From speedwayeuro.com The scope of the transmission in Europe was over 5 million people (5 100 000) from which 625 thousands were in Poland [1]. The tournament, which was the opening of speedway season, was watched average by 860 thousand viewers in Europe and by 218 thousand [2] in Poland. [1] Based on: Nielsen Audience Measurement / AdvantEdge / the scope: number of viewers who have been watching the programme for at least 1 minute [2] Based on: Nielsen Audience Measurement / AdvantEdge / audience AMR: the average number of viewers per minute during the transmission
  10. 120 riders remembered at a speedway museum that have died while racing (I presume). Thats 1,5 on average between 1930-2013.
  11. If I say Ward, you say Poole... I'm not that interested in getting in to that debate with you. But without knowing absolutely EVERYTHING regarding Ward's Poole related sponsorship and rider contract, you cant say Poole would be the biggest loser either...
  12. I know I cant make you see the other light in all this. But what's his call against representing his country against 28 days ban from withholding services* in the UK and all what comes with that? * = what ever the amount of days7 the current rule currently is.
  13. My point exactly, most of it anyway. Thanks.
  14. The more I dwell on this, the better I understand the view that BSPA is not involved. Uk speedway is a product that is worth protecting. It has an important role to play in the world of speedway. Comparing it to Latvia is a bit silly. Half a dozen riders (though good ones), one track, one team. Basically they have nothing. Of course they want to be involved in everything.
  15. [quote name="Skidder1" post="2422437" timestamp="As for May 10th its just a shame the Finns didn't enter a pair!!!! Whats on May 10th? Finland was never asked, this is an invitational event. Unlike SWC, where every federation is entitled to enter. There some nations are approved, others not.
  16. Any links to rules regarding gate positions and swapping them?
  17. The somewhat recent review on Gary Havelocks World title back in the day in Spar stated that Finland indeed was one of the suggested countries to host GP's early on. Attending a Finnish federation meeting a while ago I confronted Juhani Halme about this. He was at the time (early to all the way through 1990's) a CCP member and he denied any such talks having ever been taken in the CCP... Doesn't mean talks have not been held though... Where and by who is another matter...
  18. He DOES NOT have dual license. That is NOT POSSIBLE under current rules. He has dual citizenship and is currently riding on a Swedish license, under SVEMO. But he can line up for Finland in the longtrack team final in August, if he has not ridden/been nominated for the Swedish national team (thats the keyword!) in any FIM competition prior to that. The title in the news story should say "SWEDISH KYLMÄ FLIES FINNISH FLAG"
  19. It's just that I've never seen one... But I'm not a regular on the Elite/Premier/general sections, just here on the international part.
  20. Do you EVER comment on speedway related issues?? Where are you MODS?
  21. I think that the ferry shop is tax free, because it stops at Åland. If you come over by night, I think the stop is just long enough to load/unload the locals with their cars. And Åland is not especially cheap, same to rest of Finland. I dont actually know what the beer price is at that ferry, it's possible to google it from their site. But I can name you shop that sells beer for 21 euros a case everyday, and thats the cheapest I know at Tampere. I have my beer from Tallinn for around 11 euros a case. There's a Lidl store not far from Ratina next to Sokos at Hallituskatu. lidl is a good choice for beer... EDIT: citymarket stores in Finland have made it their business to have an extensive selection of beer. The one near me has over 250 different foreign beers. But then its 6 euros for a pint of bottled London Pride.
