Please don't look at the national league as the same all the way through. Some clubs, Cradley,Mildenhall,Birmingham & others are able to stick to the fixtures quite well. I admit some don't.
It is the modern thing. A few years ago beards were on old men drinking real ale. Now its young men drinking crap coffee from very small cups & paying a fiver for the pleasure.
As a speedway fan in general i find it hard to read some of the moaning about signed riders. I'm sure that all clubs are trying to sign the best riders they can afford (or fit the averages) & still keep their club afloat in these trying times. I for one will attend stoke as often as i can & not moan about the riders who will be trying their best to entertain us the paying public.
When you have no track to call you own as long as i have please sometimes be thankful for what you have.I know we all want our team to be the best & top of the league but, this is not always possible for all. Some just have to keep going anyway they can.
(Short rant over)
In an ideal world one old hand & six younger riders? Don't think that would be possible, yes some younger riders but, no all of the older guys have had the breaks to make a step up or didn't start young. A general mix is the way it is & i think will always be that way.
At the start of last season Andrew looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. He improved as the season went on & i was surprised that cradley didn't give him a second season. Next year he needs to improve his fitness, still young & getting taller but looks to be carrying a little puppy fat which could soon be burnt off as he grows up.
Have to agree, A little bit slower yes & some will fall off a few times. Just give it time & those who were falling off slowly will get quicker & stop on for longer as the season goes on.Watching a young rider improve week on week in front of you must be just as rewarding as watching 4 riders going flat out following each other evenly spaced apart.
I have to say that i have never had a problem with the people on the gate. The lack of a working PA system, a working power supply yes.
It could do with a lick of paint & a buffering up all round, yes.
You maybe right but, how many of these will we see at the start of the season & how many will appear a month or two later? Sadly some will vanish from speedway tracks forever.
