  1. Failed test doesn't mean innocent. The hearing will be to decide the level of punishment dished out and wether ignorance or bad advise were a factor which will reflect in any punishment handed down.
  2. I was told that during the match vs Kent he was barely riding round due to his knee and lucky to not be excluded for not attempting to race. Theres no arguing that Luke has upped his average and plenty like him he's just not my cup of tea thats all. To be fair i was shocked he went back to Mildenhall after last season but i guess a ride in the shop window is better than nothing at all.
  3. Hurty knee was what i was told.....along with a bruised ego and lazy @rse. Think the novelty of NDL is wearing off for him and whilst managing to up his average in his second year where does he go from there?
  4. Think Muff has been struggling with an injury for a while so maybe having a run out and see how it is rather than take the long trip down to a track he doesn't ride very well? Sadly his stand in Jacob Fellows suffered a nasty double leg break so the injury crisis at Mildenhall continues.
  5. Glad to see the MSDL hasn't decended into too much of a mockery. Sittingbournes best rider switched sides and got a 4 ride max, Rhys Laker took 5 scoring rides (is there no limit on RR rides now?) That said it was good that a way was found to get the meeting on and that it exists in any form is still a bonus.
  6. Only time neat and Rhys has been used in the same sentence . Seriously though he beat his opposite numbers in the qualifying heats so definitely did his job. Frustrated in the semi final but should still hold his head high. The comeback has definitely gone better tha expected.
  7. Was a point when it was an honour to get a NL team place and by signing on and doung so the rider agreed to all the fixtures. Re-arranged meetings and dispensation for riders under 18 and still in education are all fair game but those who don't really fancy the travel/don't like x track are dragging the sport down further.
  8. If only speedway was my main anything anymore.....even the forum is boring these days.
  9. In which case its very poor form from the promotion. Its been clear from the start of the season that its 2 from top 3 in averages. As i said i "thought" it was mandatory after the debarcle of the NLRC a couple of seasons ago. "2 of the top 3 riders in each team by MA, from the green sheets of the month prior to the event must be selected to participate." Must be selected, any club failing to do so is cheating the public.
  10. Wow. Obviously injuries playing a part but i thought the pairs was a mandatory meeting? Complin & Phillips dodging it for Armadale, Verge ducking it for Kent and you can bet Andrews & Extance will miss it for Plymouth. Shame really as the top two from each group pick themselves but semi finals and finals should hopefully create a bit of interest.
  11. 4 riders in a race and experience for an unattached rider. Letting 3 rides go for nothing is poor form as is allowing the host promotion to advertise a line up knowing full well a rider wouldn't be attending.
  12. Think both Simpson and Perry are safe, if form is anything to go on it should be Spencer who gets pushed out but i don't think that will happen either.
  13. No but perhaps Plymouth should/could have arranged some level of cover even if it was an unattached 3 pointer
  14. All very murky. The same as a rider with an illegal silencer being allowed to use it for the Northern fixtures, its either legal or its not, end of.
  15. So Andrews returns? Can't have been ill or with holding his services on the Northern tour or he would be missing this fixture....perhaps he got lost?
  16. Happy be to be corrected just going on what i was told. That said no fixtures in August is just daft.
  17. Thought I heard a number of key staff are taking August holidays (yes really) which is why Kent NDL fixture couldn't be arranged until September
  18. Who knows seriously though probably going to happen after the Belle Vue away fixture, leaves 3 league fixtures (plus play offs) and maintains a nice clean 3.00 average to start next season on.
  19. Belle Vue are a mightily good side at home end of. They build well utilising riders from last season who were gaining in ability and track knowledge, scooped up Ablitt on a small average and are properly dialled in at NSS. They have put 60+ on 3 sides this year and 50+ on the other 3. Even Leicester who have a strong squad this year will have their work cut out to come away with anything.
  20. Any reason given why Richard Andrews failed to show for this and the Armadale meeting?
  21. The fact that the fixture was taken and remained in place with the knowledge that Bowtell and Morley would miss it due to Plymouth commitments was staggering enough. Guests will step in and do a job but have no allegiance to the club and no responsibility to help other riders through the meeting. The injuries added to the massacre but it was always destined to be a bashing anyways.
  22. Spot on. Can only have guests up to cover whos missing so unattached 3 pointer for Connor at reserve and up to 3.5ish for Halder as non of those were available it became another unattacher 3 pointer. A lot of teams get battered at Belle Vue and the later in the season the visit the more dialled in the home side. Kents full season starting 1-7 may have got 10 points more.
  23. The questions raised there are is the NDL a professional league? The governing body certainly doesn't think so. The disparity between riders will always be there when teams can be built using riders who double up and are riding 2-3 times a week vs riders who ride twice a month. The only way the standard will get raised now is for more double downers to drop back in from the CL, the journeymen have been pushed out/drifted away already. The youth setup is producing a few riders each year but not many and certainly not enough to fill the reserve slots each season. Most teams started the season tracking at least one 3.00 rider with full seasons experience under their belts. The NDL can survive if its viewed as a long game for developing riders (with the quick rising exceptions shooting through to higher leagues). You can't build teams across any league using 10 pointers and 3 pointers and not expect to see some strung out races. If you want a "closer" product then its cap the averages of the riders allowed in, if you want the NDL to be progression keep allowing the double uppers (but accept the costs). Unfortunately the league as a whole is trying to be too many things and if it carries on is in danger of no longer existing. A glimpse of the future for the NDL is to look at the CL, littered with fading stars earning pay days for the final few years, when the mass retirements come the league will be in tatters, if the trickle of fading stars keep dropping back down to NDL it will become the same.
  24. The problem with Mildenhall has always been when its prepared grippy to start with. Theres no room or run off for any error when riders are caught out (as Halder found to his peril) then the track goes slick so riders just wash across the top (as Morley/Roynon found out). The home riders normally know more of what to expect, away sides face the lottery. Falls happen at this level, injuries will occur at any track but Mildenhall does seem to have more riders hurt than other venues which has always been a worry.
  25. Congreve doing alright in the IOW meetings. Competitive enough to mix and or beat Morley, Coles and Atkins who are all either CL reserve or fringe level. Yes his average would be a point higher but it seems hard to believe he couldn't hold his own at another CL club.
