  1. Yes I know where you are coming from with young riders showing loads of promise at a young age and not progressing to the very top. Three riders come to my mind who I felt under achieved, and I am not knocking them these are Alf Busk, Kevin Jolly and Mel Taylor in my opinion I thought they would have gone further than they did.
  2. Thanks PP, im a big Lambert fan & hope you have a good season
  3. Can anyone tell me how Rob Lambert looked at press practise day
  4. Sidney is just very passionate about his speedway & very knowledgeable
  5. I dont totally agree with you that Screen was better than Lambert AT 16. Ther is know bigger Screen fan than me, yes Screen was outstanding at 16 but i think Lambert is by far more polished at the same age
  6. I believe what Lambert achieved last year is quite remarkable. With him coming in to the main body of the team and ending up with over a five point average and claiming a paid maximum in his first year was outstanding. In my opinion apart from Mike Lee. Emil and possibly Ward I have not seen a better sixteen year old!
  7. I would bet a pound to a pinch of salt it would not be Ward but his lawyers, if they did take on the FIM, they would be the ones advising him.
  8. Some fab footage, thanks for the link
  9. No Finn Thomsen in your list!
  10. So surprised no one has mentioned Coatbridge yet ??
  11. Interesting track choice, i never got to view ther but got a few programmes!
  12. I believe Ward in 20 years time will have many titles to his name!
  13. What has Ward achieved, 2X World under 21 champion, won a GP & yet to finish a season in the GPs. So hardly not a bad record is it!!
  14. Come on Gustix, yor are very knowledgable on speedway. Get a Olsen thread going, that would excit me!!
  15. Yes, what a fab track Hyde Road. Did you ever go to Coatbridge ?
  16. Yep, never was the same rider after his prestatyn accident
  17. Yes have to agree, fond memories at Plough Lane
  18. Never got to New Cross, started watching speedway at Wolverhampton in the late 60s
  19. I have to be honest with you Norbold, dont know that much about Farndon. I started going to Wolverhampton in the late 60s. Norman Hunter was my hero then! When Olsen came to wolves was amazing, The epic races between Olsen & Mauger around Monmore were memorable.
  20. For me the most professional rider of ALL times was Mauger
