  1. Realistically, they could be better options than some? At least we know Kauko and Magnus are good heat leaders around Beaumont Park in the Premier League, which is usually a reasonable guide that they'd be half decent at second string in the elite league? I know these options aren't going to set the world alight, but we don't exactly have the greatest number of options readily available to us. I still think the 7 I put earlier would be competitive with the Bees septet, which has highlighted how difficult it is to build a strong side IMO Nick Morris is likely to end up at Swindon again I'd imagine. I like him, but don't think he'd be a number 1 in this league. Don't think we'll see Lindback at Leicester (wouldn't turn him down mind you), Piotr didn't go down too well at Wolves- bit of an elite league user last time he was here? Not likely to come here in his first GP season anyway... Lahti, Milik or Gracjzonek are nowhere near elite league number 1s
  2. Loads better at Swindon because it's not Leicester! Don't really want barker, agree with you there should be better options. Doesn't necessarily have to be a double upper... Wonder if Wozniak has any mates he wants to bring over!
  3. I didn't think jonasson was that bad, but he's not gunna be a like for like for Doyle. Unfortunately, our options are even more limited than most. Though I'd have thought we could do better than barker. Wonder if Magnus or nemo might come back? Might do a job at number 4. Would prefer thj over batch though, not convinced Troy tried at a club he actually wanted to ride for- and he's never been our biggest fan
  4. Unfortunately though, there aren't many options. Someone with recent gp experience, and whilst he didn't set the world alight also didn't disgrace himself would do a reasonable job I think. Think Wozniak is likely to be higher up the pecking order than masters, szymon was excellent towards the latter end of the season, and is better round Beaumont park
  5. If a team made up of the suggestions made on here (or my interpretation of them) looks something along the lines of: 1) THJ 2) Masters 3) Walasek 4) Barker (although personally I'd like us to try and get Klindt first) 5) Wozniak 6) Auty 7) Starke I don't think we'd be quite as weak as everyone is suggesting. That team would give the already announced Coventry septet a fair meeting I think. Hopefully, with the race structure remaining the same, our particularly strong reserve pairing should give us an advantage in most meetings (with the possible exception of Poole). I wouldn't be an unhappy Lions supporter if we were to field a septet of this quality.
  6. I, as with most Leicester fans, would love it if you signed Bjarne. Just so it's absolutely certain (although I think Norrie would rather field 6 riders than use him) that we'll never see him in Lions colours again
  7. Think Boxall, whilst a risk maybe, is probably a sounder option than picking say, a national league rider thats not raced much in the premier league let alone the elite league. I think, on his day, he'd be a very handy tier 1 rider, so you could argue that getting him as your second draft pick could work out well for you. I'd personally suggest for example, that Boxall is better than both of Coventrys reserve riders.
  8. Are you able to tell us the names of those who have turned us down and who that particular rider is? I'm still hoping Walasek, Masters and maybe Klindt might return... then find someone, anyone who's half decent to ride at number 1 (although I appreciate, they don't tend to just appear and options for us, especially, are limited)
  9. Think KK is a signing a lot of elite league clubs will have been wanting. Good move from the Bees. People questioning his reliability and motivation maybe after last season, but no doubting a man thats finished 2nd in the world as recently as 2 years ago has got quality. Could be a risk, but I think it's one that was worth taking. Lack of high class number 1s in this league, but I think KK should be competing with the likes of AJ, Doyle and Holder (presuming he'll probably return to Poole)
  10. Struggling to see where a genuine number 1 might come from now for the Lions... Wonder if the Lions promotion could persuade someone like Madsen, THJ or MJJ to return to british speedway? and if they do return to British speedway, still feel we might struggle to compete with Belle Vue and Kings Lynn (who will also be on the lookout for number 1s). Keeping my fingers crossed Walasek will return (but would have expected that to have been announced with Wozniak, wouldn't blame him for wanting to give Britain a miss after the injury plagued 2015 season). Assume Wozniak will be on the heat leader this year, think towards the end of last year he showed his real quality, displaying some great performances away from home too. Hopefully he'll keep coming from strength to strength, probably at number 5. I wonder if Simon Stead might be an option? Although he'd probably be on the heat leader list too.
