Did hear Sedgy was promised a team spot and was let down badly don't know if there is any truth in that.?I hope he does well for Leicester a nice guy and there is a very good rider in there big year for him.
-
Gustix i wished Iris a happy new year and had moved on but was then shafted about discussing a subject with Steve R.How dare we!!!!😅so sad it is unbelievable.
-
Get a life Iris does it matter that much ✌️️does it affect you? at times on this forum you F. ing annoy me bigtime.😡
-
When did the old monkey mask go out of fashion the nineties i suppose.?I think Autrey/McKnight were two of the first group of imports that wore full face helmets a trend that now is the norm.

King's Lynn Stars 2017
Sidney the robin replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I like young Bailey i really think the lad can keep improving also King's Lynn have always tried to give young lads a chance over the years. (ie) Sparshott,Dye,Mallett,Framingham,Featherby (ect).I have seen Josh ride twice he has a tidy style and i believe at Saddlebow he can mix it away it will be difficult also his gating is a weakness but he has real talent though. -
I totally agree with all of that can't stand the bloke he would shaft his own granny to make a few quid.Maybe i should of used another example rather than Hearn to front our sport. Also apart from Orient how much damage has he done to Snooker? massive devides between the players that he has created i have totally lost interest in snooker now.Back to speedway can it reinvent itself i don't think so myself.
-
Is British speedway dead and buried could it be revamped with a Barry Hearn type at the helm or a impartial governing body running it.?I watched the darts this week and how that sport has prospered and moved on.Speedway for me now in this Country is in decline terminally damaged old stadia with no younger generation supporting the sport replacing old farts like myself.

Spot on Chunky 1969 deffo, i have a picture in 1969 of Briggo on the front of the Speedway Pix magazine. Can certainly remember him wearing a full face helmet in the 1970 World Final how time has flown by.😜
-
Think he rode with one in America also i think briggo wore one maybe 1971 when he had pale blue and red leathers .????
-
Steve maybe you would know this? did Briggo wear a full face helmet before Garry Middleton(Oxford).?
-
I can remember Ivan wearing his white leathers for Exeter riders all had there own identity something that is missing today.
-
When i think back Ivan often got booed at the Abbey but he took it all in his stride.I think he took it as a compliment it spurred him on for me he took speedway to another level a one/off really.Great immaculate aquipment a big van spotless had a good team around him and he was always great with the fans.Being a Briggo fan i was never a fan of Ivan but whenever i saw him ride it was an ocassion how i so admired what he achieved in his career a true legend.
-
Are you sure about that ? to say it does not matter what day you ride on is a crazy statement.
-
No sign of any workmen with cups of tea in there hand with a fag hanging out of there mouths.😆I bet they are all foreign😅😅can't get the workers now but you can get plenty of shirkers.😆
-
I did say Sanders was one of the best in the top five riders easily around his untimely death.Penhall yes maybe the passion had gone but i always remember what Briggo said at one of his farewell meeting's Germany that Penhall had gone to soon.He said he would of won more titles and if he was dedicated and put in a years training could even ride at a high level then. Both you and Iris make great points cant argue with that both have a happy new year.😀
-
Penhall if he had stayed around how many times would he have won it ? quite a few times i believe..Lee was top class in 83/ for me at his best the best rider in the world that year. His career after that was finished nearly all of it of his own doing Carter well was just unlucky no doubt about that.Sigalos was classy had a bad injury and his top days were gone.Sanders Iris dont know where you are coming from with your oinion about him he was always a very good rider.Up until his death for a couple of years he had really come into his own upped his game not far off reaching his PEAK if he had been around he would of been a player.
-
But Ole had to fight to get where he was like Ivan it was not all plain sailing at the start and he earned his dues.Nielsen for me would he have mastered a Penhall/Lee, if they had stayed around he hadnt before they left the sport .Also Erik had his number to,nothing against Hans a great great rider and if anything he SHOULD of won more title's.But Penhall,Lee,Carter,Sigalos,Sanders all real talents leaving the sport in the same period really opened it up for Hans/Erik.
-
But i would put Olsen higher than both because of the level of rider they all faced in there PRIME.Nielsen was a rider i never liked but grew to respect but after the demise of Penhall,Lee,Carter,Sigalos,Sanders, things fell into place for him apart from a handfull of riders he had an easy time Erik often being is achilles heel. Not damning Hans but if all those riders had not of been lost to the sport no way would he of won four titles.
-
Yes for me "norbold" was Mauger just the better rider in Longevity at World class level?.Mauger was a icon took over from Moore/ Briggo god he was good you expected him to clean up most meeting's.Olsen he was so different very good from the back Olsen for me is one of the few riders i could put alongside Ivan a high accolade.😀
-
Knutsson certainly was FORGOTTEN i would say with Lee and others the best to have won only one title."norbold" do you think Olsen is sometimes forgotten when mentioned with the greats.? I do Olsen was certainly one of the best riders i ever saw ride in my top 10 even a top 5 a great rider who had an awesome riding style.
-
Is that bet VALUE "Crazy ?😜😀

William Hill 2017 Odds
Sidney the robin replied to KingIvan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Emil,Dudek,Pawlicki for me against the field. -
Knutsson i think would of won maybe a title or two more but to say he was better than Olsen is etretching it a bit ?
-
Wont go that far Alfred a bit of a rubbishhole😀to be honest (joking)its good everybody has a home good or bad.Swindon is ok no better or worst than anywhere else i was brought up in Stratton ST Margaret still live there now.😜
-
You make some good points but is Swindon that bad a place to live? maybe you were only teasing.? Swindon is not the best place to live not by a long chalk but there are LOADS of worst places to live believe me.
