NP has already tasted World top status and wins GPs even when not 100% fit. These three were on the podium at the Check Golden Helmet in October. 1 JC 2 HA 3 NP I can see these three on the GP podium at Gelsenkirchen but in what order is anyones guess.

A bit closer to home, now that rugby has been played at Croke park maybe an Irish GP a possible ? Hampden, Glasgow previously staged speedway but that before the rebuild, could be a goer. Dont know if there would be space for a temp track at Murrayfield but as its been done at Cardiff & PARKEN why not ?

Is there a club side in Gothenburg ? have they a track that would do for a GP ? How did things go so wrong 2003 ? I,m sure there were plenty of great meetings at Ullevi for years.

This is a fine suggestion if the aim is to entertain as many speedway fans as possible in the stadium. It should be noted that the paymasters for SGP events are SKY TV & they decide Kick off times to suit armchair subscribers to their service. I cant see them approving 3pm sat for the BSGP ? If they were to get the FA cup final at new Wembley they,d probably have it 7.35 pm on a tuesday. Only joking

A well intentioned post & info for discussion Tomazpozrl, but the thread has lost its way due to several posters changing the subject to something totally different. Back to the original : A good,simple, easy and fair system was in place for years. Before GPs the rider with most points after 20 heats was World Champion. This was a long time ago, not BC but BS ( before sky ) The points system, format, Qualification system ? all hinge on how the sale of pay TV packages will be affected. We are not the only sport to be affected by this, hence an away fixture for your local side 200 miles away on a tuesday night rather than 3pm Saturday. However the BSPA & their equivalents have accepted the money, (all in the interest of furthering speedway) ? so they and us, the speedway supporter are left to reap the benefits ?

While we are on this subject, do you know of any publications ( books, video, DVD ) on the history of this great speedway event ? ( peferably in english )

PS The Ferry from Dunoon & Car Parking at Glasgows gonna cost ££££ so still a good deal

There may be a good reason why no collection has been made. I can think of a couple. Dont rememember a collection for the excellent "Cinders & Shale" Speedway Museum in Edinburgh in 10 years at Armadale ? We have collections every week, its for the riders fuel fund. We also have collections for Speedway riders Beneveolent Fund, the Ambulance service & maybe a 1 or 2 Ive forgot about. This year the Dale was attacked on two occasions by animal rights activists and I think there was a collection for that two. Its maybe thought that the fans have taken collection sickness !!

When Jason scooted back into the pits on the prize brand new JAWA after 1 lap of the track i assumed he was doing a Scot Nichols & scarpering back to the airport. How wrong was I, he left the bike then ran round the boards high5n everyone as they walked past on their way out. He could have hurried off as he had a meet on Mon night but didnt. This kind of courtesy & respect for the fans has won me over & probably many more who were there.

I used to go to Langbahn, grassbahn + Sandbahn when I was stationed in Germany and the meetings were very well run with good crowds. I am concerned that this may be not the right venue ? Impressive Stadium for football but what size of speedway track will fit in ?

Yes, correct Venice Airport 70 miles, Trieste Airport 19 miles. Nearest town Udine 6 km. All track details & info are on the FIM website, just punch in Terenzano on the search window. There are 3 Terenzanos but this is the 1 you want.

Every GP I ask why not award the points after 20 races. every rider competes against the other 15. Best rider eg. Greg Hancock 5 wins, wins max pts & so on. The present farce is like asking Alonso or Rossi to go again after wining a GP.
