Totally agree with the post from Andy S, next years team needs a strong reserve and Ashley fits the bill perfectly but it all depends on the points limit lets hope it goes back to 42.5.

Why do people feel the need to critise George, he along with other people who have put money into the club should applauded for keeping it going since 1997, The rules of the sport make it difficult for a team manager to influence the result of a match so there is little he can do when things go wrong. With regard to the team there was very few people complaining when the side was put together during the winter and having both Robert and Steve at the top end made it weak at the bottom, at least the promotion have tried to do something about the bottom end the problem being that most of the 2 pointers coming out of the national league are not good enough yet for the championship. In my opinion what has really hampered Newcastle this season was the reduction in the points limit during the winter.

An exceptional performance from Newcastle to pull back the 16 points, whilst accepting that Ashley, Lewis and Ludvig all put in improved performances, the key contribution was from Ben Hopwood who made a significant contribution from reserve something that has been missing for most of the season and has been regularly commented on. It just shows the need for reserves to score points.

Good decision from an away fans perspective no fun travelling to a meeting wondering whether it will be on.

A good battling performance from Newcastle but once again heavilly outscored at reserve thereby putting extra pressure on the top 5, to those who are having a go at Danny Phillips can I ask who you would replace him with without radically restructuring the team bearing in mind that it would have to be a like for like replacement.

A very good meeting last night, but will 8 points be enough? doubtful when you consider our lack of strength at reserve, no trump cards to play this year but one must live in hope

One of tjhe best meetings I have seen at Berwick for a long time, some cracking racingwith riders from both sides giving their all.

Should be a good encounter, diamonds stronger at the top end but Berwick have strength elsewhere especially at home, expect the diamonds to come out on top after both legs.
