  1. The whippet tickling was cancelled too. Lovely morning in Sheffield, not a cloud in the sky. Onwards to look at the rain in Glasgow now. Hopefully a suitable rearranged date is found, regardless of the rights and wrongs of which riders are chosen, the concept behind the tournament seems sound enough.
  2. Decision made. Off. Now showing on Sheffield website. Was taking this in on the way to Glasgow so could have backed a double loser looking at the Glasgow forecast for the coming days.
  3. This is like Wacky Races. The tractor grader in red leads from the tyre roller in yellow. The water truck in white has retired. Just need a blue tractor and we've got an alternative meeting.
  4. Well we're here! Could be West Ham in the pub instead then. But seriously the reaction if it doesn't happen won't be good.
  5. At the risk of asking a silly question, why are tickets so hard to get for Wroclaw, even for people living there? We've tried before but no joy.
  6. First time at Gustrow, as I happenned to be in the area. Didn't realise I had to bring my own chair though. Well run meeting, with a scoreboard that was clear and accurate. Even got hit with shale on the first bend a couple of times Enjoyed watching Dan Bewley, who did well to finish third.
  7. Bikes being loaded into vans, so unless we are going van racing......
  8. Some hope! Grey as ever where it is coming from. Many have left already, track just getting wetter.
  9. Their forecast is worse! So I'd like to believe the BBC app but guess we know which one is likely to be more accurate.
  10. All eyes to the sky after 20.00 when according to the BBC weather app at the moment the chances of rain increase. Could be a meeting to rush through in the hope of getting a result.
  11. Including Great Western and Cross Country which both serve Cardiff. Transport for Wales is not on strike. Start the car.
  12. It will be interesting to see the size of the crowd, but difficult to determine whether this app stuff has had a material effect. On the plus side at least transferring tickets to other phones (providing they already have the app too) for others in the group worked first time.
  13. Website now live. Tickets for both events successfully purchased with visa credit card, but as usual you’re never confident everything has worked until you’ve printed them off. Helps to have Google translate handy for the bits of the process that are in Polish. At one point you are asked the option of collect in person, or home delivery. No print at home option. I clicked collect in person, but later in the process got an email (one of five) to say I could print the ticket from my account on the website. Sure enough the ticket was there, but when you print it is very basic with no fancy graphics, just your seat details and two small QR codes. Thanks to R&R for the early advice of tickets going on sale.
  14. Yes frustrating. Once you’ve pressed ‘confirm your account’ you get no further emails to say your account has indeed been confirmed. I sort of found out by luck where the tickets were, only after logging out of the phone app and then logging in again.
  15. That was a faff, took 20 minutes using a combination of I-pad and mobile phone to get the tickets onto the phone app. I now have two tickets on my phone with a QR code for each. One can be forwarded to the other person providing they have a See Tickets user account. Unless everyone does that, you can foresee a family or group having to keep passing the phone round at the turnstile as each individual enters the stadium. There has to be a better way!
  16. Congratulations to Martin Vaculik who seemed to be a popular winner. Hate being negative but even the fireworks were a bit tame compared to previous years At least we are now in a cracking bar with great beer Nearly forgot to mention Dan Bewley. 6th was a good effort, never mind the bike problem.
  17. Best passing moves so far, water truck (not spraying) has passed the tractor four times. DJ now playing 'let me entertain you'
  18. Tractor just did more laps than the bikes to try to take the dirt off, much of which is now on the back straight.
  19. Now live at the track where the sun has come out briefly. Track looks OK considering the rain, just one bloke putting the broom round the inside now. Yes shame no Brits but will be interesting to see the standard of the others. Further news: Just been announced intros at 19.30, first heat 19.40. Quite a bit of blue sky now so more optimistic than at 15.00. At least the music is good, usually is at Prague.
  20. Yes indeed, thanks. And believe it or not its just stopped raining at 16.45 - for now.
  21. Ah found the right thread now. It's been raining all afternoon in Prague, so if anyone hears tonight's meeting is off we'd appreciate the news. Thanks.
  22. Damp afternoon in Prague. Would appreciate any news if tonight's u21 meeting is called off to save a wasted tram trip and drinking time Forecast for the main event tomorrow is much better. Edit: ignore this post, found the correct thread.
  23. Yes, all very enjoyable. Zmarzlik will take some beating though, to state the obvious. Can’t wait to go to one live again but meanwhile the tv coverage was indeed excellent. Kelvin and Chris are a good team, especially tonight under the circumstances, hope Chris continues in the role as he provides some interesting insights. And a big thank you to everyone whose first language isn’t English. We take it for granted but I wish I could be so fluent in a foreign tongue.
  24. We always get a 72 hour tram / metro ticket at the main station in Prague. Valid from the time when you first validate it in a ticket machine, so for example midday Friday to midday Monday.
  25. Long while since I went to speedway at West Ham but if it were to be logistically possible the London Stadium gets my vote over Cardiff.
