I didn't get a kiss. The racing was great and the company even better. Thanks for a great night guys.

GREAT pictures Nikki! Especially liking the one of you and the policeman!
-
Not at all surprised. I don't suppose you remember the many very incriminating pictures of you that were taken last night? C'mon Nikki!! Get them on here!

Can we please have links from anyone with a camera that night?

Wanted - Recording Of Swindon Swc
shortoi replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Alan, if that offer is open to anyone then I'll gladly take it! I really want to see the whole thing and I was gutted when it was straight through racing - I'd already seen that! If not, then anyone else, it seems mummyfairy beat me to it. Did anyone else notice her on the closing credits?! -

Rabs, I have to admit I was worried about Rico too!! And was I the only one worried that he was going to throw up during the bumps? Seriously, he did good. I've never been one of his critics, but now is definitely the time to offer him some real praise! GET IN THERE LEE! -
THAT WAS AWESOME!!! I think you had to be there, the atmosphere was incredible!! Going to watch the re-run on sky now. Good ole re-run Rico, working his good luck for a change. Deserved the 15 pointer, and the bumps that came with it. Watch this space for a picture of Steve Shovlar in a pink & sequinned hat, playing a blow-up guitar and holding a pom pom.

Oh damn, I did as well. Scones and cookies then. As long as I'm allowed to partake in the picnic. Heheheh...

Mummyfairy, Alan is right, no-one is going to say anything about it. If I make some cookies and bring them can I join the picnic?

Swc @ Swindon 31 July 2005

Thread here. -
Well come round to say hello anyway, be nice to see some new faces.

The grassy hill on the third bend sound ok to everyone? Seriously, if there are many forumers coming to the WC I think it's well worth having a forum meet and you probably get the best view from the third bend hill. Anyone up for it?

Mediocre. And the prices would be the same no matter where the event is hosted. It's an FIM event. Three reasons why Swindon are hosting the WTC: 1) The track is smooth, grippy and fast when properly graded and has provided some fantastic racing in the past. Although our stadium isn't the best the track is a damn sight better than Coventry's. 2) We have four bars. 3) Terry Russell is our promoter. He's probably got a lot of influence over this kind of thing. I would rather stand in a mediocre stadium and watch quality racing on a decent track than sit in a better stadium and watch processional racing on a poor track.

Cardiff 2005 - Advice please
shortoi replied to Wacky racer's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I've never been to Cardiff I desperately need to sort myself out a lift soon or Cardiff will have to go on hold for another year! -
I'm looking to go to Cardiff for the first time this year, obviously I want to book something well in advance and make a weekend of it as I know so many other speedway fans before me have done. So I ask ye veterans of the Cardiff GP - can you suggest me a reasonably priced hotel near the Millennium Stadium? Preferably one where other speedway fans / forumers are likely to be staying? Thanks in advance.

Hopeless optimism? You'll be sleeping in the same house. As I say, I'm sure I can find an appropriate form of revenge. Back on topic? Yes, well done TRick.
-
Hope Shortoi doesn't notice! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lets just keep this one between me, you and the other 3,500 members, eh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tsch. Not to worry, rabbit. He'll be in Swindon a week today. I'm sure I can take some sort of revenge then.
-
Definitely NOT all for it. I spent 10 minutes explaining to the Pharmacist (my boss, who had been to the speedway for the first time in years the previous evening) exactly why Swindon had managed to pull off a win. I also had to try to answer his questions about why the rule is in place and what sense does it make. I had very little success.

Could a mod please lock this topic now? It's turning into a schoolyard tiff with insults being chucked all over the place. The problem has been resolved and this is now turning into a debate about whether CD is a good father or not. In my opinion he does a pretty damn good job raising little Chris all by himself and doesn't deserve all this flack. Those who are sitting in judgement here more than likely have the child's mother to help with the child as well. Anyway. That's not what this topic is about, and that's just my opinion. So shall we all give it a rest now?
-
No problems mate. You can tell Chris from me that he's gotta behave if he wants me to let him help with his website design.
-
Look, I'll be dealing with this on behalf of CD. Anybody with any enquiries could please email me via my profile? If everybody could please cool it on this thread. Anybody interested can email me. Good luck at home Pat.

Even the Mighty One makes mistakes. Ya forgot to lock the topic Phil!!

shortoi replied to 2ndbendbeerhut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely if he was on medication he should not have been out drinking with Streety earlier in the day anyway.........! If he's on medication and was out drinking then it could easily explain the whole thing! -
21CH - that makes so much sense that I'm scared.
