  1. Aye some of the fencing has gone in and once its finished I will stick some pretty pictures on here for all to see the latest progress but by all means call round for a look see and chat with the lads on site as they would love to hear your views Regards THJ
  2. Haha You can tell your a fan by the name @Bandits4eva To be fair and if I remember correctly you even converted a Rye House Fan... @Shadders All I can suggest is if you like to hold a grudge just drink Murphy's because as the advert always said you will never be bitter if you drink Murphy's... a grudge is good just dont be bitter about it... Nowt wrong with supporting your team through thick and thin as it takes all sorts... Keep up the good work... Nowt wrong with being a "Totally Biased Fan". . Been there done that and got the tee shirt... Regards THJ
  3. Nice to know that the cough hasn't impacted your long (long) (long) (yawn) term memory
  4. Yes and the new format was trialled in 2015 I think to mixed reviews which were well debated at the time however there was not this chronic rider shortage back then... Regards THJ
  5. Honestly You don't need to weaken the league... go to 6 man teams... reduce the build average to 32 points for the first year you run with the 6 man team until everyone's average is realigned then build to 45 points the following season and going forward from there... The first year you run with the 6 man teams it should free up around 10/11 riders with averages ranging from 5 to 8.5 which potentially opens up another two team slots in the league should the likes of Eastie Reading Coventry Worky or Bradford fancy a return... You talk of weakening the product but if all those clubs were to make a dramatic comeback where would the additional riders come from... the pool of riders is what it is at present... you can't weaken that pool any further... instead of double ups go north and south in the second tier and allow triple ups? Where does it end? Regards THJ
  6. Who was that masked man you say? well it certainly wasn't the Lone Ranger Take a bow Steve Lawson who has been ably assisted by the main man himself with the brains (and brawn and finance) behind it all Andrew Bain; also Neil "Boozer" Bewley (yes his Dad) Stuart Jenkinson; Paul and Brad Haughin; Old Ted? David Payne one or two others whose names I have forgot (sincere apologies) and of course the legend that is Alan (Unlucky for Some #13) Windbush... The effort these guys are putting in on weekends at this track is nothing short of heroic... kudos chaps and keep up the good work... Think Steve Lawson is preparing a GP track never mind a Championship one or dare I say it a one fit to host Premiership meetings on... Ooh a cant say that on here can I... oops to late... Regards THJ
  7. He wasn't that bad on a bike an he's proving to be a Wiz on a tractor... Regards THJ
  8. Really starting to look the part Regards THJ
  9. Awww man Ruff am getting the hang of this now... Northside coming on a treat; and getting wider by the visit... Regards THJ
  10. Here we go; latest shot from Northside and I done my first white line ever on Saturday Like them Politicians I have finally had to admit to it... Took some painting in but total satisfaction for me and Brad Haughin... A can see how them Politicians and Footballers like doing them white lines its very calming for the soul... Regards THJ
  11. So why can I upload this old picture but not my latest one? Doing my nut in this is!!!
  12. Jenga I am having a sabbatical not joining a monastery... give up drink!!!... give ya head a shake man... Regards THJ
  13. Funny you should mention that as a book was opened on one contest between two guys and both were even money... I thought it was a wind up... Not sure what was taken cash wise don't think it was much but the guy running the book was apparently a well known Worky bookmaker taking the bets... Never heard of an egg dump before let alone participated in one but what a laugh especially as everyone was hammered with the drink... good night out... local Maryport lass singing: enough buffet to feed the Border Regiment; late bar and a canny pint... couldn't ask for much more really Regards THJ
  14. @Diamonds85 Thanks for the offer of the beer but as stated in a previous post on the Diamonds thread I have cut my ties with Newcastle... and with Speedway in general for the current time to be fair... also I am not directly involved at Worky I just know; appreciate and respect the guys who are doing all the hard work at Northside and help out now and then when required... which might change a bit when the electrics need doing possibly... So far this season I have knocked back corporate tickets for the Belle Vue Peter Craven meeting; the Redcar V Newcastle meeting with DVR; the Cardiff GP and a European GP... which is difficult for a guy who would normally turn up.to the opening of a Greggs bag just to see if there was owt in there for him... I have had the full enjoyment I used to get from the sport sucked out of me... So I am having a sabbatical from Speedway... saving some cash and probably going to go back to.the football a bit more home and away now that Ashley has gone... Regards John
  15. No bud it's a brick built building now but the craic was fierce to be fair... Brilliant night out and a good time was had by all. Regards THJ
  16. So a got to the semi final of the "egg dump" WTF... me first ever... an what do you know "egg dump" abandoned... competitors "seven shades to the wind"... and there has been the accusation.that someone is using a pot egg rather than a paste egg... apparently a big scandal... ave seen nowt like this in all my nacho... these underpants will never dry... what a laugh... Regards THJ
  17. Aye ya might be right but he didn't go out with my daughter... Know what a mean Biffa... Regards THJ
  18. Honestly Turned up to a Workington and Cockermouth Hound Trailing do in a spot called Twiname Club in Brigham? World's End? Anyway hadn't been in the spot ten minutes and three different folk have asked me when is the Speedway starting back up... and that they can't wait to see the sport back in town... Couldn't make it up... only in Cumbria... Regards THJ
  19. In the case of Roynon I think it is form a queue... Unfortunately there is a lot of baggage and a back story that could keep a soap running for quite a few episodes... not quite on the Ken and Deidre scale with Mike Baldwin but up there Regards THJ
  20. Aye but mine was deliberate to prove a point.... and so you didn't feel self conscious.... That's my excuse an am sticking to it... Regards THJ
  21. But lets be fair it is easy to make a typing mistske now isn't it? Regards THJ
  22. Just heard the very sad news that Jim Purvis passed away earlier today... Sincere condolences to Julie and all of the family... RIP Jim... big miss in many ways... The Diamonds have lost a Diamond... John...
  23. There may be someone living there full time... possibly... Steve Lawson is there that much he's just about living there now... Regards THJ
  24. Right next to the track and there should be enough room to fit 200/250 cars on it (as long as the track doesn't get any bigger) and there will be an overspill car park for around 500 vehicles within 500 metres then within another 1000 metres there will be another couple of hundred spaces so the last problem anyone should have is with parking. Regards THJ
