Phew!! Thanks
-
I see the Russian forum no longer exists, it was a good place 4the live streams
-
It looks like a decent venue. Being a bit wet behind the ears when it comes to Ice Speedway, do any of you know why the ISG seems to stick with the same venues and doesn't expand the calendar so they can visit places like this on a more regular basis? Presumably cost?
-
Thank you Conkers, 3 months can't pass quick enough!!!! Edit: sorry, any idea when Heerenveen tickets go on sale?
-
First blood Ivanov. Go Daniil
-
Wish they would extend the highlights package to 52mins again, so much close racing on the Saturday left out. Highly disappointing
-
Him and Ivanov have to be favourites but I suppose you can never write off Koltakov
-
What a great weekend in Inzell, fabulous racing throughout on Saturday and a tremendous final on Sunday. They really do the track cleaning quickly and efficiently. First of all congratulations to the winners and podium finishers, secondly hats off to Ledstrom who was going so well Saturday and rode well through the pain barrier on Sunday. Good luck to Gunther Bauer, nice to see Weber wishing him all the best even after their past issues. Sorely tempted to book flights to Holland now !!!!!!!
-
Hard as nails though so hopefully he just cuts it off after 2!!!!
-
For Inzell? Fingers crossed but I read somewhere that his hand is in plaster for 3 weeks
-
Can't be up to date, Shishegov and Haaruhiltunen ain't going to inzell Managed along to Berlin on the Sunday, the ice really tore up quickly although I appreciate it was v mild for the time of year. Thought Geyer was a good laugh, playing to the crowd. Can't wait for Inzell, got tickets for both days. Bring it on and only 4 points between the four top dogs, should be great.

It's a pity they've cut the FIM TV footage down to 26mins from the two days rather than 45ish
-
Just watched the Russian meeting from the weekend, some great racing and nasty spills for Khomitsevich and Ivanov. Valeev looks like he could challenge Koltakov this year but does anyone think he was a bit ruthless and guilty for the Ivanov crash?
-
Daughter conkers. Ha ha!!!!
-
That is pretty arrogant indeed, especially when results clearly show Luca would not be competitive in world championship racing. I have to say personally though that G Bauer was happy to pose for a picture and sign a postcard for my 3 year old last year in the pits at Inzell so fair play for that
-
Thanks Conkers, it's just lucky his boy rides under the Italian flag then!!
-
Conkers, I see you refer to Bauer as " no mates" and I heard the commentator for FIM TV say in coverage last year that him and Weber have a frosty relationship. What's the issue with him?
-
I know it's part and parcel but to me it's going to lead to a weak line up 4 the ISG???
-
Sat and watched Jasper Iwema vlogs last night, my goodness the life of a central European ice speedway rider is far from glitz and glammer!!!!!
-
I've just read through the Russian forum and see that ( Koltakov ill), I still hope there is a serious challenge to him in the ISG finals but I fear he'll be back to his unbeatable best
-
That really was brilliant racing over the two days, Koltakov looked human for a change and pretty unhappy on the podium. Hopefully that gives Ivanov, Khomitsevich and Valeev fire in their bellies and belief that he is beatable. Not really heard of the guy Makarov before but to me he looks more exciting that Toloknov (?), shame he fell short. As I said in first post relatively new to Ice Speedway but take it no chance of Makarov being in ISG and indeed Kononov after the tragedy to befall him with them not being in qualifiers? ( except of course wild carding in Russian rounds)

Sorry if I've caused unecessary panic but still shows on the FIM website as 6th n 7th April. .......... http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/sport/ice-speedway-gladiators/ And defo the 2019 calendar
-
Wow, they changed Heerenveen to 6th and 7th April. It's now on the FIM calendar so just letting you guys know in case it affects anyone's plans

Thanks so much for the info folks. When I went to Inzell last year I got lucky with a last minute room in the town, although I paid through the nose for it!! I'm keen to get flights booked because I can see the prices creeping up and up. Family coming too and now bound by school so less flexibility about when we fly. As for accommodation don't mind driving from nearby town given the family are there and know where the shuttle bus pick ups are from last year. As luck would have it I'm in Berlin on a stag 1st to 3rd March, all the others are heading home Sun morning but I'm staying on a day to sample the Horst Dohm eisstadion. Is it easy enough t get tickets for the second day when there or better pre booking? Such a pity no such ice rinks in UK although I do think if they televised it there would be plenty of attention grabbed given all the thrills and spills
