I know that there has been many goodwill comments and having a 6th team is one that I feel would prove beneficial. It is now very unlikely that a championship team would move up but I wondered if a "pool" of championship riders could become the sixth team. Plan: Have a pool pf say 12 riders and appoint a team manager. Based on availability the team manager will choose the team for each fixture. The home meetings for this sixth team would race on a championship track. If possible each track will have one meeting with the probability that a couple would have two meeting to allow for league and cup. The sixth team members would be paid at championship rates keeping costs down. Hopefully the squad would be happy for the additional meetings and the home track would hopefully get a decent crowd as well as another fixture to fill up their calender.

His "team", think it was his mechanic, let us know how serious his illness was but many seem to have forgotten or ignore the fact. He came back, still not fully recovered, from his illness, and many negative comments have been made about his lower scores. I believe now that he is recovered Berwick has made an excellent signing and that we, the Monarchs, may regret not including him. It is always difficult to come within the 40 point limit or perhaps travelling costs were a factor. Who knows but most Monarchs fans wish him well.

How about Dan Thompson Justin Sedgemen Erik Riss Paco Castagne Johnaton Grahan Dayle Wood Jordy Loftus This totals 39.88 I am sure that I read somewhere that there would be a surprise so perhaps it is Erik which leaves out Kye. I just feel that Dan and Justin need another strong heat leader to give us the top end strength. I just put in Dayle who would be perfectly acceptable to me although the young Aussie Whalley has been mentioned. Possibly a bit early for him but may fit in the NDL team.

There is no mention of his illness which seems to have had a serious effect. This was the message from the pits, I believe. Leaving a healthy and fit Victor out may be something we will regret.

Sad news in my opinion for Monarchs if this is true. He had a really good first season and was progressing after getting to know all the tracks. If he has chosen to join another team there is nothing we can do about it with all riders self employed. If we have not included him for a rider that is "fitting" the averages that is something else. I have always trusted the promoters to build a good team within budget. Top end strength and decent reserves seems to be an essential for success now. Loftus and Grahn were must have riders for me , starting at the low end and it looks like we will benefit with a decent top end rider by default because of the 8+ rule. Mr Campbell it is over to you.

Possibly nobody has put pen to paper but I would be pretty surprised if a club as professional as Glasgow, who have lost a rider (one way or another) do not already have a replacement lined up.

A good balanced comment some of which identifies the difficulty that Monarchs have attracting riders to travel so far north to Scotland. Not quite sure I agree with the statement we were lucky to sign Masters, Cook and Pickering. Promotion identified the opportunity to sign a young struggling Craig Cook and sacrificed Summers to fit him in. Including Pickering I can count 8 or 9 riders who were introduced to this level of racing by Monarchs and probably another half dozen who were struggling at their clubs and developed at Monarchs. So around 14 in total out of 59 signings to date in Championship which shows that the promotion work hard for to secure a successful team. In the past when we lost our number 1 (Carr, Schott and others) we were in the same position as now, so yes we really need a number one. We await our seventh rider optimistically.

Only other rider I can see who rides in UK is James Pearson on 5.51. I am still trusting in promoters to surprise us with a new face. Situation is that I await Blobby making the comment "won`t be Pearson" which will give us a yes or no on Pearson

Hopefully the promoters will give us a pleasant surprise but assuming Paco on 7.11 and a 2 point reserve then Claus Vissing`s average of 6.34 fits in. Other than that it looks like it would have to be someone from outwith UK

I know that it fits as it was one of my permutations but if Boughan is available to us I would not want to lose him. I also like Lasse and that is the problem with the points limit. Happy that it is the promoters who have the difficult choices and not me. Nilsson may be the key as he might just be a rumour that is going around. I believe that the promoters know that a repeat of the last 2 years is likely to seriously damage attendances but can we afford the cost of bringing some of these riders to Scotland without damaging the finances? So difficult!

I don`t usually do this but I found myself with some time to spare this evening. I also picked up some of the comments from some of the contributors who may have inside information. I came up with this team : Sedgemen 7.92 Castagna 7.11 Thomson 6.53 Nilsson 6.50 Boughan 5.16 Palovaara 5.00 Max James 2.00 Total 40.22 If I have the correct averages it is 0.22 over the limit so I was hoping Nilsson may possibly be a bit lower and perhaps Boughan has still to receive the 0.13 reduction as a British rider. This gives us fresh faces and Victor as a reserve. Just a bit of fun and I am probably well off the final team.

You forgot to let us know your actual medical qualifications. I understand that you have an opinion but health is something best left to the experts in my opinion

So pleased that my fellow Monarch has decided not to request a refund for the stream issues. I think it was the Monarchs who were first to introduce streaming and I thought this will be good as it gives a vital source of income. When streaming was extended to other clubs I thought that it would be a good way to give support to clubs struggling financially and Newcastle were the club I was thinking about. I understand that Birmingham are having to rely on individuals to keep them afloat. How about we "promote" as many as possible signing up for a particular Birmingham match being streamed, regardless of who it is against, and give them a financial boost? Surely we can get 1,000 at £11.99 which might be the £11,990 that will go towards keeping them afloat. It is too late for Newcastle, let`s help Birmingham and possibly we can "save" others going forward. Alternatively we can do nothing and we know the consequences for speedway.
