  1. The track is usually quite grippy particularly around the the fence at scunny, maybe it was prepared slick due to the early season weather / coldness.
  2. Nice start to the season for the Scorpions with Picko leading from the front and remaining six riders doing a solid enough job! Suspect this will be the type of scorecard that Scunthorpe will produce more often than not when at home this season!
  3. Well the BSPA clearly do not class the National League as a professional league (which is more than fair and correct in my opinion). Lots of people get paid small fees across a range of motorsports it certainly doesn’t make them professional! No standalone National league rider can make speedway their day job! You only have to look back to the Covid times when the national league / national league level matches were allowed to race because it was classed as amateur!
  4. At the end of the day I hardly think people are not going to watch speedway because Nathan Ablitt has had an 8 percent reduction!! The sports struggling for a host of other reasons!!
  5. Well must have been applied an 8 percent reduction for missing a season whether people like it or not
  6. Simon Lambert it is. Ultimately on that average around scunny you couldn’t get much better. The side is clearly made to win at home and you can’t really argue with that
  7. Suspect he will get the 8 percent reduction whether people like it or not
  8. Yeah no chance of fitting Vuolas in as Scunthorpe only have 4.81 to play with
  9. Not sure how they’ve exactly worked that out, ultimately time will tell what his average is
  10. 4.52 if he gets the 8% reduction and then 2.5% for being British, or 4.91 if he just gets the 2.5% British reduction
  11. Can’t see a long line of people wanting to have his job! Putting his money on the line year in year out. Yes the teams might not always be the best but at least he’s there giving it a good go. Let’s be honest speedway still exists in Scunthorpe because of him
  12. Interesting listening to Godfrey on the speedway 360 podcast. Says that Lambert isn’t in the side and that he and David Howe haven’t decided on their final two yet. Perhaps looking at some international riders from Europe or Aus?
  13. I thought Pickering was 11.64 because his final average in the prem was 7.76 x 1.5 = 11.64
  14. If it’s Lambert and Ablitt, Ablitt would need the 8 percent reduction. Scunthorpe have 9.33 points left to play with and Lambert is 4.49 with British reduction and Ablitt would be 4.91 with British reduction
