  1. Am I missing something here? Have the remaining wildcards been announced then? from what I can understand of the post above it appears that the posters seems to think they have, and that Pepe, Zagar etc are included.......
  2. No, not at all, I have virtually zero knowledge of the averages in the Swedish, Damish or Polish leagues though, so I am using the only tool I have to hand! I had intended to add a paragraph to my post saying as much, and that I understtod that there may be riders in other leagues with better form than Lee, but I still feel he should be included.....sadly I forgot to type it though! *edit* to be fair, at no stage in my post do I suggest that GP entry should be based on elite averages either - I simply mention the Speedway Star averages as most of the riders I refer to feature not only in the GP's, but in that list as well.
  3. Just looking at the Elite League averages in the speedway star. lee comes in 12th at the moment, although that includes TRick so realistically, 11th. Scott, as a point of interest, is 6th (Or 5th if you remove TRick) Now, of the 11 riders above Lee, only 2 (Karlsson and Max) are not in the GP. Max is now ruled out for entry to next season anyway, and karlsson I would think will get the nod. Of the PL boys the ONLY likely entry is Zagar, who I think everyone acknowledges has a bright future. Yes he will face a dip in form on entry to the EL I suspect (Not least because it's likely that he won't go in at reserve but in the more difficult 2 or 4 position - my personal feeling is that more than likely when the first set of gree sheets come out he WILL drop to reserve and that is when we will start to see his true form) Staying with the top 20 Speedway Star EL averages below Lee we have Ryan Sullivan who WAS in the GP, but once again will be out for next season I would think. I think to include Stead at this stage would be lunacy, although he will, I would hope, be the Wild card for cardiff 2006 (Or will it go to Harris? It's got to be one or the other, surely?) but at this stage there are many riders who would come above Steady in the pecking order for a place, Kasprzak, Bjerre and Gjedde, to name three. I think that giving Lee a place again is fair at this stage. There really aren't that many riders who could be considered ahead of him, and wghile he needs to work more on his consistency at this level - and perhaps to an extent his mental preparation aas well - He has shown better results from the GP's over the past couople of years than Scott.I don't see either of them as World champion material I'm afraid, but I do think that Lee copes better with high-pressure situations, and that could eventually be where he gains.
  4. Now, some years ago, Tony said that he would like his final racing in England to be with the Witches........will be interesting to see what unfolds from now won't it!
  5. This is presumably quoted from somewhere - could you credit please?
  6. who must be, what, 11 or so now? Talk about time flying! Glad Mike's still about and enjoying his speedway, it was a loss to speedway when he stopped promoting, in my view.
  7. we'll get ours through the supporters club again no doubt.....
  8. The referee should feel ashamed for adhering to the rule book should he? Can you confirm that I understand you correctly there, bearing in mind that it is clear from the excerpt posted above by SCB more than an hour prior to your post that that is indeed what happened.
  9. LOL - true!!! American GP - blimey, do you think that the people responsible for todays decisions might have been involved there too?!!
  10. I think this is a pretty sensible summing up. Bizarre isn't the word is it - the words "P**S up" and "Brewery" spring to mind......lets hope that some kind iof review of this takes place now and rules are put in place to ensure a more sensible handling of this situation in the future. I'm just hoping now that the Poole side might be distracted on Wednesday by all the celebrations.......we might manage a second win at Wimborne Road this season then! (That's be the Witches team including Pepe Protasiewicz even though he apparently has nothing to do with Ipswich this season...... )
  11. Mildenhalls were the ones with the tassels on the sleeves weren't they?!
  12. Oh lord - so do I.........dontcha just HATE it when that happens?!
  13. Go ahead - if you want to get yourself banned that is entirely your look out! It is possible to have lively debates without resorting to insulting people - it's not as though it is the first time you've done it is it. By the way - could you clarify where I have suggested you were having a go at KK? I have read your posts very carefully, and my replies, and yes, I see you congratulate KK but nowhere can I find any accusation on my part that you had not done so....... Thanks to Lioness for the editing by the way.....
  14. Steve, a report from the track says that the top two were offered a race-off, Suchanek refused, and instead a coin was tossed to decide the winner between him and KK as they were on the same points.
  15. LOL - I said "those of you having a pop" - I didn't name names...... .....guilty conscience anyone?!!! (just kidding by the way - I appreciate that many people aren't having a go at him, but there are others who will, both now and on into the future. I feel sorry for him - he deserved an attempt to win it fair and square as did the rest of the field)
  16. You see that little button to the bottom left of your posts.......well when you resort to personal insults like this (and please have the guts to be honest about it and not put it down to a typo - the fact that you edited it immediately prior to me quoting it to remove the 2nd "d" you initially had in there makes it clear that it was intended) you may find it gets used. Your comment regarding Poole was designed to try to provoke trouble from the Pirates fans. Had a Witch, Wolf or Bee won it of course we would have considered it an accolade for the club as well. KK has come on no end riding in the Pirates racejacket and they are quite right to be proud of him. I know at Ipswich we have been rightly proud of former Under 21 champions Chris Louis, Robert Miskowiak, and pepe Protasiewicz. **edited for comment in bold above**
  17. I think it was 1990, in Lonigo (?), the weather was too wet to run the meeting at the first attempt, so they went back the next day......it was still too wet so they had to put it back yet again! Seems that perhaps it was an unwise decision to even start the meeting in the first place really. Those of you having a pop at KK though - if you'd been in his shoes, and you'd just been informed that this was how the meeting was to be decided - what would you have done? Held your hands up and said "no, it's the wrong way to decide the winner and I want no part in it!"? No - thought not! Give the guy a break - he won the meeting by whatever means (yes, not the ideal way of doing it I agree) and will probably already spend the rest of his life feeling in his own heart that he's not a "real" winner. Poor bugger.
  18. Oh stop being so petty. So we'll hbe hearing nothing from the Bees fans from here on about them making the playoffs then eh? Otherwise I can guarantee that the Pirates fans will be queueing up to accuse you of "clinging onto everything" *waits for Mr Bee to come back and pretend that was a wind-up attempt.....* Always a shame when a meeting is disrupted due to weather but sadly it happens. Well done to KK for making the best of the situation.
  19. They'll come in on heat 1 and cut the usual waffle to let them catch up, I bet. either way no sense in getting agitated over it!
  20. Now you see Kevin that was what I wanted to say, but I tried to be nice about it!!!!!
  21. Surely Wimbledon isn't up to FIM Standard though is it? Problem is that most of the regular speedway stadia in the country simply wouldn't be big enough to hold a GP crowd.
  22. 6th of June would make it mid-week - can't see them doing this somehow......too many people simply wouldn't be able to make it.
  23. Judging by the scarcity of hotel rooms in Cardiff, I think everyone has assumed that the British GP will be the "normal" weekend - 10th June.
  24. No sense of national pride and a hunger to win from your camp then?!
