erm hello fellow countryman and all that?!!..the danes and the swedes kinda come from different countries!!! Not just fellow conuntryman but also friend. The Joe and Mark thing was completely different. Joe gave up his chance to win the meeting for Mark to be world champion, that's what mates do for each other. Although after the meeting I had a text message from a friend of mine who is actually Danish. He congratulated GP on coming 2nd etc and asked how I thought the meeting went. My reply isn't repeatable but he then phoned me to ask why I had called Hans Andersen a ******. He said that of course he let him by, it's because he was Swedish and that they always help each other out as they are the nearest country to them and all the rubbish. Think he was just rubbing it in, but it gives you the perspective from a Danes point of view. I just hope that the Ippo promotion are having a few words with him before they let him ride again. He has made himself a very unlikable person throughout this year (Richardson at Peterborough and Norris at Wolves), but this is the final straw. Wonder if he got out of the stadium ok or if someone let his tyres down??

well done AJ+ tomaz wot a meeting
Ruby Tuesday replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought he was great. Really enthusiastic. It was great to see someone in the sport with some spirit. All I mean is that it is nice to hear the riders speaking for themselves without him getting himself on tv. He didn't but in with Gollob and Hampel's english is good enough without him, a character he is indeed. -
Track for Final
Ruby Tuesday replied to Lanzilla's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Does anyone know the track man at Poole? Maybe if we all slip him a fiver then he will be able to do it as Havvy wants? Will be worth it! OR Someone can kidknap Ole before the meeting and tie him up behind the pits and leave him there til it's over? -
well done AJ+ tomaz wot a meeting
Ruby Tuesday replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I managed to get haom from a rained off Sheffield to watch from about heat 15 and it was fantastic. GOLLOB IS GOD. I always bet on a Pole at Poole whenever i've been there and now I remember why. They were fantastic. But someone please shoot the.ir manager! He really needs to let the riders have a go at saying something for themselves instead of butting in. Will be 95% behind the brits on sat 5% of me behind the Poles. Should be a cracker of a meeting. Cheer up Crumpy, I know it's your birthday today, but face it, YOU LOST!!!! -
I am the kind of speedway supporter that travels as far as she can for meetings, within the montly money budget, allowing for someone to be able to let the dog out and feed him and have to plan it around work. I also don't want to miss Sheffield tonight and I have sky to watch the final on saturday. I have travelled the length and bredth of the country in recent seasons to watch meetings and in the past have been @ Wolves on Monday, Lynn on Wednesday, Ippo on Thursday, Peterborough on Friday, Cov on Saturday and Buxton on Sunday. I've travelled to Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Poland for GP's - that's what kind of fan I am. If they held these kind of events more centrally (Cov would be ideal) then many more people would financially be able to go. We aren't all made of money. There will be scottish fans for example that can make the trip to Poole and Eastbourne and maybe tie it in with a holiday etc, but if it was a bit more central then there will be a lot more people attending, more money through the turnstiles, more money in the pockets of the organisers all round people are happy. Or is it just because you all live on the south coast that you think it's a great idea? If I could go then I would, but can't so have to make the best of a bad situation.

Perhaps, just perhaps, there are some people who don't want to go and sit on a beach all day. That is after a good 4 hours of travelling, traffic jams, the petrol cost, then the cost of the admission prices etc... If it was being held at Belle Vue, Worky and Sheffield for example would you still be saying there is no need to have it centrally. (That is if you are based in Poole?). I would love to go to Poole on saturday and infact for the other rounds, but time, money and location make it difficult, until then Sky it will be.

I remember that there were some toilets on the 4th bend, very scary, with big spiders and cobwebs. It was always dark, probably better that way, you couldn't see the spiders then. It was always cold in there too. The only bad thing about Station Rd for me. Used to enjoy my trips there.

Darren Mallett at Buxton was shocking to watch, really shook me up. Also Steve Clarke and Michael Mitchell at Sheffield last month. Both riders together going down the back straight and MM I think got ahead of SC and they just tangled up. No one's fault mind you, just one of those things. I knew that it was a bad one when you see bike, rider, bike, rider etc cartwheeling along. If you read the speedway star recently with SC's analysis of his injuries etc, he was a very very lucky lad. Hope he's recovering well. I also remember seeing David Howe at Peterborough once come off on the pits bend and he literally slid along the top of the fence with his chin, got a nasty cut if I remember too.

Nicki Pedersen Spits Out His Dummy Again
Ruby Tuesday replied to REAPER's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just to add, it was good tv from which ever angle you see the accident from, but it was also nice to see that Nicki was seen smiling not long after and laughing and joking. If the roles had been reversed just imagine how miserable and grumpy Jason would have been for the rest of the meeting. -
Nicki Pedersen Spits Out His Dummy Again
Ruby Tuesday replied to REAPER's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I was sat watching the GP with one of englands top riders fathers (who happened to teach him all he knew) and an ex rider, both who agreed that Nicki had the racing line and that Jason was at fault. The replay shows Nicki's dirt deflector touching Jason, thats all. Nicki rode wide yes, but as Nicki put it he was in the front and commanding the race. Kelvin (I'm always right about everything) Tatum said Nicki should have been able to see Jason out the corner of his eye, yes, but only if he was looking towards the fence and not towards the inside of the track. Only Nicki will know, but I got the feeling that people are now finding any excuse to slate him. I hope that Tony Steele didn't exclude him for this incident with the Greg incident in mind. Yes it shouldn't happen like that, but who knows. He's made some shocking decisions this season, I always used to think he was a sound ref, but now I'm not as sure... -
date for Cardiff 2005
Ruby Tuesday replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What are people doing about booking accomodation in Cardiff for next year? Taking thre gamble of it being the 11th June and booking rooms as soon as, or waiting until the date has been announced? There are lots of other things (footie and rugby) that go on at the stadium about the same time so I would imagine that it would be the 11th? -
Did anyone else get on TV
Ruby Tuesday replied to Ruby Tuesday's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Oh well, must just have been me then! Guess that's what happens when you don't have SKY every other week at your track, when you do see the camera's you go mad!!! -
Did anyone else get in from Cardiff at silly o clock last night after hours of driving and lack of sleep, only to sit up til midnight watching the video and trying to spot themselves in the crowd shot? I saw our group there but if you blinked you would have missed us. Please don't tell me i'm the only one who did it!!

Flags/Banners to Cardiff
Ruby Tuesday replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We've had some t-shirts made which have Hampel, Gollob, Ulamek (yes I know he's not in the GP but my mate fancies him) and Sully (to confuse matters) on, taken ages to sew all the piggin sequins on but it'll look good on the day. Poland all the way!
