Wiesław Jagus (Apator Torun) 1 (1,-,-,-,-) Surprisingly Jarek Hampel did not qualified, Tomek Gollob was in trouble as well because of defect in his second heat while leading. Wieslaw Jagus crashed in his second heat and was taken to the hospital. The news is he got just bruises and was released from the hospital later that evening. Tarnow fans, myself included, are going to have rear treat, 5 local riders qualified for the final and considering how good Marcin Rempala, Janusz Kolodziej and Tomasz Gollob feel on the Tarnow track their chances for medal look strong
  4. Moving ahead to Sunday Extraliga matches, it appears that Tony will not make it to Wroclaw. Rumor is that Unia Tarnow is about to sigh with Scott Nicholls so he will replace Tony in Wroclaw. Unknown as to what kind of contract it is going to be, could be just for one meeting with options for more. Wroclaw is suppose to ride without Antonio, but it is not confirmed 100% yet. Anyway, it is going to be tough meeting for Unia regardless, our riders seem to have a lot of trouble on Wroclaw track, we will see how they manage on Sunday.
  5. I wish Marcin Rempala could be a darkhorse of the final but in reality this season on away tracks he is not half the rider he is in Tarnow. Too bad, and I hope he wil get over his slumps, but I do not see hime doing better than 5th-6th in the bunch. More hopes we have for Kasprzak and Hlib. Kasprzak has realy good season and he should be in the medal comeptition. The question is how good Antonio is going to be on that night. I see him taking the gold.
  6. there is quite large database with Polish League matches and other tournaments on the www.sportsboard.pl discussion forum, however there is one gimmick. You have to have a Super User status to get in and this requires an annual subscription to be paid. it is just few quids and for somebody inteerested in Polish speedway it is worth doing.
  7. Much has been said in the Danish GP thread about ref and the mishaps with starting machine, especially in heat 1. Few facts were missing back then, like the fact that because of lack of power referee could not signal the race to be stopped, and to make things worse there were no signal flags to do it by hand. Anyway, Olsen has sent an official letter to Grodzki, thanking him for his cool conduct at the GP that made possible to complete the event. Ole basically admitted that they screwed up, and offered his apologies to Grodzki for making him work is such extreme circumstances. And on the side note, apparently Gnianini was so pissed after the GP that he publicly bashed Olsen and told him that in Loningo he will see how GP should be organized.
  8. I do not think it was settled. In addition Tomasz might be in trouble for the way Polonia Bydgoszcz spent city donations in the past, while he was member of the board. Apparently most of the money were used to pay riders, Tomasz for most part, while city money were supposed to be spent on other things. Anyway, the local prosecutor is investigating the matter. I just hope his name is being mentioned because he was the biggest star on the team and not because of any wrong doing on his part. Time willl tell.
  9. It was a great evening yesterday in Tarnow. Both teams had their chance to get the bonus point and it all was decided in the last heat. Throughout the heat the fight between Grzegorz Rempala and Damian Balinski was bordering on foul and Rempala’s exclusion seems to be the right decision. So no bonus for either Unia. Tony was ok, but he was overshadowed by Adams superior performance. This guy was something last night. Unfortunately, very weak performance from Gollob brothers marred what otherwise would be a perfect evening for Tarnow fans. Together they managed 11 points, less than Marcin Rempala scored single-handy. Marcin was the one who brought home fans to almost bliss like state, his riding was amazing. Only wish he would ride on this level on away tracks. Anyway, good speedway in Tarnow
  10. Actually, you should add bonus point to Torun, Bydgoszcz and Czestochowa. No bonus in Tarnow - Leszno duel as in Leszno it was also 51-39. best,
  11. This one is going to be a real test for Jarek Hampel. He is coming off very good performance this week in Sweden. Hope this will continue on Saturday. I certainly hope that he can make it to the final again. If so, I would say that despite missing to GPs, he has a chance to be in the top 5 and maybe, possibly compete for one of the medals. We Poles, really miss our rider in the top 3 in general standings. As for Tomek Gollob, I think that semifinal is the top for him right now, especially that we have another temporary track awaiting in Copenhagen, not his favorite thing, and he is still torn between Jawas and GMs. Nicki should be in the final, unless he does his “Nicki stuff” again. For the sake of the whole GP series it is about time for some other rider to come on top. But will Tony let it happen?
  12. If I may follow on the earlier discussion about TR’s low standings in general, I think that two factors contribute to this. First contributing factor was the event in Czestochowa meeting, when after colliding with Sebastian Ulamek he did not appeared in his last three heats. In the books it was treated as not appearing on the track therefore zeros were put in his scoring. On the other hand, there is a visible pattern here, and some say, that TR is concentrating just on winning WC thus his Polish league performance suffers. I’m calling it a pattern because it seems the same was the case last year with Crump riding for Torun. If you asked Torun fans they all said that Jason’s league riding last year, in his championship season, left a lot to be desired. Of course Tony said last weekend that he brought his best motors to Bydgoszcz, but is was not so apparent on the track on Sunday. These are just speculations on my part. Being from Tarnow I'm vitaly intersted in Tony's perofmance in our league. Defending the championship will be hell of the task with so many teams claiming their rights to top places in the league. But that's what makes it so much interesting this year
  13. I wouldn't dare to vote any other way: Tomek Gollob is going to win, Tony comes in second, Andeas third and Pepe Protasiewicz fourth. This way we will have a hell of the last GP with Tony and Jason battling for the crown in the crunch time.
  14. is he the one that qualified for next year? i keep getting all these guys muddled up <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes, that's the guy
  15. Chrzanowski and Kasprzak. There are some controversies in Poland on this, especially on Kasprzak as he seems to be not at his best presently.
  16. Joanne, where did you get this book?? Indeed there is something like tartare on the menu in restaurants sometimes, but favourite? At least I've never tried it I never put on my plate anything that could walk off it on its own
  17. f.s.p usually it is packed during extraliga matches but there should be no problem on Sunday in Torun considering that home team has nothing really to fight for, they are in the 4th place and not going anywhere plus there was a little less than perfect atmospere concernign the team and thier lack of expected effort therefore many fans were skipping matches recently. So no problem with tickets. This said it doesn't mean that the meeting is going to be a boring one, on contrare. Tarnow needs just one point to secure the championship and they should do everything to get it in Torun to have easy last game with strong Wroclaw. Torun is an ambitious team and they will not give in that easy, so I expect very tight match going to the clutch heats.
  18. Joanne, most trains from Warsaw origin from the Warszawa Wschodnia (East Warsaw) station. The next stop on the way is Central station and the next one is Warszawa Zachodnia (West Warsaw). time difference in between them is around 4-5 minuts. In the on-line trains schedule i do suggest you write full name of the station you want to depart from otherwise there might be glitches like the one you encountered. Actually I will be going to Bydgoszcz via Warsaw taking the 10:25 train but it will be on Saturday. best,
  19. I will be in Bydgoszcz as well and it would be fun to meet and have a beer together, if not at the stadium than maybe afterwords, if any of you are staying till Sunday. I'm staying to support my team Unia on Sunday meeting in Torun. Should be great event, plus Per is suppose to visit. best,
  20. I didn't believe and I stand corrected. I thought I'm gonna have a heart attact right there at the end. This is soo sweet. Our young guys came through and it was real team work. Great!
  21. I see it like that: 1. Denmark 2. GB 3. Sweden 4. Australia seems to me like a logical assumption or: 1. Denmark 2. GB 3. Poland 4. Sweden just my wishful thinking to me it looks like a question - is Denmark going to overcome home team? I think they will but it will be very hard to beat you guys at home. Of course I'm assuming that Denmark is going to stay hot.
  22. Well, my prediction is that Sweden is gonna win it tomorrow, with Aussies second, but hopefully after some fight from Poles. I do expect Poles to put more fight than in Eastbourne, and Poole track better suits most of them. But at the end I do not think they will make it to the finals. That doesn’t mean that I’m not going to cheer for them. All things consider, we going to have a hell of the match on Thursday, cannot wait.
