Yeah right, and in theory Pedersen or Gollob won yesterday.......will you be the one to tell Hancock that he didn`t deserve to win in Bydgodszcz? But I agree with you, the GP series needs new blood. Holder, Sajfutdinov and Pavlic are alle strong contenders. Unfortunately it is a year early for all of them, they will not be able to cope with the setup nor the pressure of performing max in every heat you are riding even though you f.i. have failed to score in your first 4 outings. I tell you that is HARD! On top of that comes injuries. Both Holta and Iversen has been riding through the pain barrier for weeks now, both with similar injuries. But they are still out there winning the occational heat and fighting for their existens in the GP`s. Holta even have had a nightmare with engines this year, blowing up engines for 10 000`s of pounds worth and on top of it all he has been stabbed in the back by his club in Sweden which he loyally have served for 5 years missing ONE single meeting in the process. As soon as he had a few bad meetings he lost his place even though his club KNOWS that he always comes good in the end of the season if he gets enough meetings. The dedication from both these riders should be rewarded regardless of what nation you ride for! GP riders have to cope with all of this and fortunately both Holder (interview), Pavlic (interview today) and Sajfutdinov (through experienced spanner Susi) knows the stake and I am sure they will wait another year for a crack at the GP series and NOT go in the Lindbäck/Lindgren trap (although Lindgren I am sure will be a world beater one day) End of story.......put in the three qualifers from today instead of the bottom three in the GP series 2008 and keep the rest for another year.

They have qualified by right not through nationality as certain other riders........

What makes u think being Norwegian, or Italian, German or Russian for that sake would make it easier to get in among top 4 nations? It is just politics but in a real world Holta should be picked before both Nicholls, Harris and Lindgren for next year. After all he has won a GP and he is also in the Super Prix........ I for one would love to see what happens if he finishes in 9th place and then wins the Super Prix!!

Funny post of the day. LOL! ...and you doesn`t even seem to understand how wrong you are in this matter and how right Subedei is..... You got one thing right though, the quotes says it all :-) -

You could also include 2007 7. Holta 8. Nicholls But surely if it hadn`t been for a referee who took an unatural approach to the Nicholls/Harris incident in the run-off Nicholls would have been out again.... -

U got that one utterly wrong. He was waving at the referee because of the state of the track once again had caused someone to fall, NOT because he was angry that the heat was stopped. -

You can`t see it on those clips, the resolution is not good enough, but if you watch it on TV you can clearly see Gollob turning his head slightly to see where Andreas is when they exit the turn. On top of it all, when they exit the turn they are almost level which means that Gollob for sure could see Andreas front wheel (and HEAR him coming) and he knew exactly where Andreas was. On the other hand, Andreas never changes his line, Gollob does. -

If you watch those clips on TV you can see Gollob looking for Andreas just when they exit the turn. If you watch the incident from the overhead camera you can clearly see Gollob changing his line dramatically just before the crash. On a small track you can usually get away with turning left but on such a big track like Ullevi it is critical that you stay on your line because serious incidents could happen when they are racing at such high speeds. Riders have less time to make their choices. No malice from Gollob though me thinks, he just went for it but most definately should have been excluded and with Tony Steele opting for the easy way out he also opened up pandoras box. He had the chance to make an example that turning left on the straights is not acceptable, instead he set a new standard for what is allowed or not. I can already imagine the first rider turning left and be excluded in the next GP`s on the phone to the referee: "But what Gollob did in Gothenburg was much worse and he was not excluded" -

Yes they should be stopped. Even the riders think so and since the tracks differ so much from practice to race-day the only thing they use their practice sessions for is to test their machinery. -

Forsberg slowed down to let Lindgren passed. That made Nicholls run into him and in a GP you are not prepared to meet second graders like that, not that Forsberg won`t be there one day but right now he should not be a reserve in a GP. BTW; why does always the reserves be local lads? Can`t they use the official reserves list instead? -

....and take into consideration that both Rune and Emil are among the "lightest" riders around..... As I said before, spoke to Rune today and he said the pass was unreal, his backwheel hardly spinning at all when exiting the turn and he couldn`t belive all the room the others gave him. -

AFAIK engines from the three top riders are opened and checked after every GP. I did not mean to say that you insnuated that he did something illegal. Rune has also had big engine trouble this season but clearly had sorted them out last night. Spoke to Rune today and he actually thought the red light had come on because the other riders were going so slow when he passed them. He also said that even in the heat where he came last he felt that he was on a quicker bike than the others and he felt fast all night. Congrats to him, well deserved. -

So you think he had some "wonder potion" to put into the bike he had ridden all night? Maybe he opened it up between the semifinal and the final to add another 100 ccm? Or maybe he just found that perfect line when everybody else was concentrating on staying as tight as possible going out on the back straight leaving a freeway for Holta on the outside..... Holta was fast all night, track condition and outside gates was the reason he didn`t score more points earlier on. Truly a deserved winner! -

That is correct, a rider can be excluded for unfair and dangerous riding. -

B**ls**t. Never been racing have you.......turning lift on the straight is the worst u can do in speedway and even for me who is a Gollob fan that was ruthless..... But Andreas should have seen it coming when Gollob turned his head to see where Andreas was....... -
What about Ferjan? Has he finally gotten a Hungarian passport?
-
Yes. It was decided to have two different titles two years ago. Has been working very good as we have so uneven teams that the league/NC often used to be decided before the final leg of the league. With this new approach we always finish off the season with a good and exciting team competition.

Speedway In Norway / Stavanger ?
Maddas69 replied to Diamond Exile's topic in International World of Speedway
There is a practice session at Elgane this week-end (18/19.04). Unfortunately that is the only speedway in the Stavanger area in april and may. League meeting at Elgane is on the 22.06 and at Riska on the 03.08. Other than that there is the Individual Norwegian final on the 23.08 at Elgane and an open Longtrack meeting at Forus Raceway TBA in august.
