  1. As John Mills said.."Surely this is a Bridge® too far "
  2. This last sentence is so correct. BSI are extremely shrewd clever pepole with a massive company (IMG) behind them. I have no pre-knowledge of what they are planning, but it makes huge business sense to grow a buusiness gradually. But I would be highly surprised if say 5 years on you don't find the SGP in many areas not previously known to have Speedway. Add to that the USA and I expect the series to be truly worldwide.
  3. I was fortunate enough to be very close to many major players in that 1970/80 era..just like Phil. He is 100% correct....the Wembley crowds of 1975..1981..were about 55- 50,000....sizeable enough..but shows you the work achieved by BSI over the past 6 years. To give you an idea our client numbers to Gothenburg W/F 1991 were 2200...Pocking 1993 about 1400...Vojens 1994 about 900....and in the 1st year of GP events.....42....try running a business on 42 !!
  4. Yep well known...and we do know who it is...so....
  5. Has anyone any dates/venues etc for 2012 LONG TRACK RACING in Germany ????..Preferably Bavaria...Thanks
  6. Any news yet on the Nordic Final in Finland my friend please ?
  7. Dave...Clare has been very ill...but thankfully is now well on the road to recovery. She is indeed a highly valued member of our Team, and we have missed her. Not quite sure if she will be fit enough for NZ...but hopefully she will be in the 2012 team for the European GP events. James...thanks and I will pass on your best wishes.
  8. And if you do get the chance to meet the urbane, charming Mr Rising..call him Loppy Lud and claim your free beer !!
  9. His son Vladimir came over with the Russian team we brought over in 1990...nice guy, I believe that he is still racing. Nickolai Kornev was another "old timer" who made teh trip
  10. And every year on 25th December a kind old man comes down teh chimney with gifts for the children
  11. An excellent posting...sadly your words are very true. Without doubt that was the very best Speedway ever seen on TV..a superb advert for the sport. Why are Poland so good ??..same as Sweden and Denmark...they can see the bigger picture, don't get bogged down in stupid rules, and they invest in THEIR riders development..until this changes in the UK then the future is bleak.
  12. The sole reason for this is that our Public Liability insurance will NOT cover us if we have a none paying/contracted client on our bus.....you will find that this is European contract law..and we simply cannot take a risk
  13. I would guess it was somebody on his way home rather than to an airport.

How sad...yet another of my boy-hood heroes gone. An honour to meet him a few years back. Add the fact that he also rode at the 410yd track at Foxhall. I was pleased to hear that he was by all accounts a man who could "look after himself"
  15. We do...exactly 4 rooms remaining saturday night only at ETAP..City approx 15 mins walk from Stadium...cost £96.00 room incl breakfast.
  16. I would very much welcome a return to Stockholm. I have always regarded Gothenburg as a city without soul. Personally I would prefer Sarasota as a replacement.
  17. Remember him from my very very early days at Foxhall heath. tall guy..always up for a decent race though. Had leathers with ribbed shoulder pads..funny what you recall.
  18. very many thanks for your help James
  19. Any idea please of the dates when the Swedish fixtures will eb announced?
  20. Tony Mac..you are so perceptive..and aware of the Nations Literary taste.....May we assume the next step is the mangement of the 'Ammers ???
