  1. We should have Shale Searcher without a doubt, great idea, if we can have a bloody betting section then a newbie section is just as important.
  2. The GPs could easily have put people off going to league meetings IMO in three ways, 1) because league mtgs aren't the big event that GPs are obviously 2) people save their money to go to GPs rather than league mtgs 3) people want to see all the top guys racing against one another which they don't get in league mtgs In what way were they asked to get involved? Of course the GP series stops riders racing here cos basically it's like racing in another league ... The major change that would be good for British Speedway would be to race on a set night or nights imo
  3. Like the old days ha .... of course it should but that's not the modern way lol
  4. NKI put some of the blame for foreign riders and top blokes not racing here onto the quality of our tracks ......
  5. If we tried a two day only league I don't think there would be enough teams, it seems Helmsley and Dugard won't change so that's two gone!
  6. And go stand on the back straight on the stock car track opposite the start/finish gate or to the right of that so you can see the action on the 2nd bend, you'll be closest to the track you can get :-)
  7. I do :-DIt does annoy me immensely that there are people with multiple names, how sad! Re the section for newbie fans, great idea, do it :-)
  8. It adds to it yeah but some fans are definitely more vocal than others!
  9. The smell could be sorted immediately if only Castrol R was allowed to be used mmmmmmmm The atmosphere is up to the fans I guess, fans are either noisy supporting their team (Cradley) or indifferent (KL at times)! But promoters could attempt to encourage the fans more by a good, speedway loving mic man for starters!
  10. So what would get our young people to speedway? A good, cheap bar and music with speedway as a side show on TVs?
  11. Watched it tonight, good prog, he clearly loved his life in Aus and it will always be the life he eventually wants, which is what I have thought about him always. Total daredevil, all speedway riders are aren't they lol. His Dad was his mate and mentor, never thought anything different, and his death affected him deeply, good that he has such a strong relationship with his Mum :-) Nothing surprised me, Tai was great in front of the cameras from day one, just like Holder, totally relaxed and natural. He must have mixed feelings over the old Aus v GB thing although he's set out his stall for us now and is doing a great job, World Champ and possibly on the way to another! The Aussie boys will always be his mates, he was brought up with them!
  12. I'd be rolling in it if I had all the money I'd paid for British Speedway over the years! Lol. Got my money's worth most of the time ;-)
  13. So what's happened over the years to our speedway, old promoters have sold all the best stadiums off for housing/development. The first promoters of the sport didn't put British Speedway onto a form footing, they just treated it as a money making show and when the crowds started to dwindle they cut and ran! So now what's the answer to all that's gone wrong in the past? Of course the promoters need to work harder, the riders need to do their bit too, that's what their conferences should be for, to share some great ideas to increase the popularity .......?????
  14. So how is British speedway going to persuade the councils to buy all the tracks up, redevelop them akin to the Polish tracks and then get big business to invest in them? Then get all the youngsters to attend in the local areas? Is it all about the love of their home town/city clubs for the fans in Poland or is it because of the cheap booze and the atmosphere? Or perhaps a combination of everything?
  15. Depends if he has that pride in his local team or not!! :-) I might go have a look at a Polish league match but I sure as hell won't care who wins!
  16. In 1950s\60s GB!!No comparing Poland to GB, we'll see how things are in 20 years time there!! I guess if our promoters had huge council owned tracks and rich sponsors they could encourage the youngsters to come to our clubs for next to nothing and chant, sing and drink. One thing they couldn't do is make our young people care about and have pride in their local club like they seem to do in Poland!!
  17. Yeah I would have got rid of the pair of them!!
  18. Read that Cookie has been getting some set up advice off Nicholls, he rode well at Lynn this time so Scott has done him some good!
