Well.. I'm back from Ice Racing in Wartena! What a great day, awesome. The organisation did an awesome job, nice little track (about 250 meters). Johnny Tuinstra was even racing there, awesome battles betweem him and Tjitte Bootsma. Small note.. loads of negative words about our "great" federation. Loads of Moto-x/Speedway riders where ready to rock, but they couldn't because they could risk a 2 year ban! And to make to story even "weirder".. Henry van der Steen was allowed to race on a Ice Racing bike, but not on a Speedway bike? . Anyway... roll on Stadskanaal next week... hope the weather stays like this .

Two Dutch Speedway riders did some practice today on a lake near by Koosterkille (The Netherlands) for the Open Meeting in Wartena (The Netherlands) tomorrow... guess both haven't got a KNMV license then LOL. Pictures. Also received some great news that another club (MAC Stadskanaal) is running an ice-racing meeting, next Sunday (18 January) 14.00. Advert.

Don't think any foreign riders will race in Wartena this Sunday.... the KNMV was complaining about the safety and decided that riders with a Dutch license are not allowed to take part. Also the KNMV "officials" (people with the flags on the infield) are not allowed to "flag" sunday, pretty childish eh? Riders in the "Ice-Racing" class: Tjitte Bootsma, Wiebe Vochteloo, Hielke de Graaf, Gerrit de Bruin, Gerrit Rook. No info about the "Moto-x" and the "Speedway" class yet.

Another (!!) update to the Saalfelden lineup... Max Niedermaier is replacing Dimitri Tschatschin.

Received some interesting news today... . Some guys from Holland are going to run a ice-racing meeting in Wartena (The Netherlands) this sunday. On the day there will be 3 classes; normal Iceracing, Moto-x, and normal Speedway. I have no idea if there will be any International Ice racers (should be..), more info soon (I hope lol).

That's right, there were 2 500cc sidecars at Assen last year; Matthijssen and Holstein.

Another update to the Saalfelden Quali lineup.... Finnish riders decided to swap numbers, so Akkoo rides at #3 now and Hytonen rides at #13.

Hellooooo all Sorry for the bad amount of information about The Netherlands and Belgium in 2008, this year; 2009, will be better . Well, lets start... with The Netherlands... As some of you may now is that the track in Blijham is still not "approved" by the Dutch Federation... to me it's quite alot of bullsh*t... the KNMV is complaining about the fence.... imo they should better shut up and try to run some meetings. Confirmed dates for the Dutch Championship 2009: 30/05/2009 - Vledderveen 18/07/2009 - Veenoord That's 2 rounds confirmed sofar, and it's January already! They've promised to run 6 meetings at least, alot of Dutch riders aren't very optimistic about this as the KNMV did promised alot more in the past . Anyways... they want 2 more rounds in Lelystad and they are talking with organisers in Germany. Rumours are that the KNMV will add some kind of entry money; 20 euros per meeting. With the license costs of 185 euro it's all very expensive for these few meetings. And I won't start about the tracks we (I'm also going to ride) have to race.. As you might notice... I'm not very positive about speedway in The Netherlands... . Belgium.... With only 1 track in Belgium.... in Heusden-Zolder..... are they doing it pretty well. They've runned a round of the 2008 Dutch Championship... but the KNMV was complaining again and decided to not race in Belgium... imo alot of nonsense again as (so far I know) no-one had trouble with the track. The Heusen-Zolder club has annouched a couple of dates for 2009 (all un-confirmed though): 18-19/04/2009 - Big Practice 07/06/2009 - Open Meeting 06/09/2009 - International Golden Helmet .............
