Cardiff 2007 - Speedway Party ?
Pinstripe replied to SCOOBYDO's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wont be doing nothing other than getting totally hammered on the Friday night watching Newport then probs heading into town with my mates after it. Mind you may be drunk enough on the FRiday anyway without going into town, I am sure SCB will tell you how plastered me and Robbo were on the Friday night this year -
Swedish Play-off-semifinal 2
Pinstripe replied to Zetters's topic in International World of Speedway
Just shows how much stronger the Swedish league is than ours. Vastervik consist of 6 riders who are Heatleader material in the UK!!! -
British Selection For 2007
Pinstripe replied to Gaz W's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
GB is by far the weakest of the leagues. Look at the EL teams about 5 years ago and look through their lineups. Compare that with now!! Most EL teams now consist of 1 or 2 stars and the rest are mostly PL standard. Somethings gone seriously wrong!!! -

Harris a much brighter prospect than Stead. Without a shadow of a doubt. -
Tony Millard!
Pinstripe replied to longlivefrankie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agree with everyone. Millard is totally useless and despite at least 5 years in the game has not learnt a thing. Boot this pillock off , waste of time. I can put up with Pearson, he is passionate about the sport and knows his stuff. Gets a bit wild though! Get out Millard you imbecile! -
Gp Qualifying Final
Pinstripe replied to spook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Iversen had already proved he can do well in a GP. Came in the semis in 2004 and narrowly missed out on a semi in 05. Bomber or Stead have never got close to this. -
Gp Qualifying Final

If we want Brits coming in the top 8 of the GP's then shoving Harris and Stead in is not going to result in this. Loram has to go back in. Along with Nicholls regardless if he comes in the top 8 or not. Scotty has raised his game this year hence lying in 6th place. Loram would reap the benefits of the new system. Sorry but Richardson has to go. Been absoloutely s**t for the last two years. Time to go Lee! -
Gp Qualifying Final

I feel the GP should be made up of the best 16 riders in the world but I guess this will never happen without them looking at the rider statistics over the last year or so. So, less of the "chuck Harris and Stead in because they are young and improving". If people insist on the top two brits, then it has to be Nicholls and Loram. Why people want Iversen out I dont know. He has not been totally crap this year. He has picked up 4's, 5's, 6's and 7's and has not been well off the pace. We all knew he would struggle to bang in semi finals and finals every week but so did BSI. There is no point chucking him in for one year and taking him out. Next year he will improve upon these results guaranteed and I still feel he is a much better rider than both Harris and Stead, though they may have EL averages his Swedish/Polish/Danish form is good. Its very confusing. But I feel Loram would be class in the GP's now. Nicholls has been good so definately needs a wild card. -

Who defeated Ostergaard surely not Vedel?? -
How has Henrik Vedel been doing in 2006? Rode for the Waspies in 05. Always impressed me despite averaging only around 4.00. Was clearly not race fit after 5 years out the sport as he would lead for 2 laps and look fast and steady and all of a sudden lose control of the bike, as if he didnt have the strength to hold on. Was a great team guy though, and I would of loved to see him back this year on his REAL average that he acheived. He rode 12 matches but sadly not the required six home six away, instead he done 7 home 5 away. Has he improved upon 2005?

Swc Event 1 - Rybnik
Pinstripe replied to Mateusz's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Cracking meeting. All 5 GB riders can be proud of themselves. Particluary impressed with Nicholls though Steady and Bomber done well. Pearson makes me laugh. He seems to get so excited! Some of his comments are so funny its unreal. He shouts some s**t but much prefer him to Millard the Dullard. Tatum seems to be getting much better on sky and much better in the box than Louis!!!! Keep the team the same, or maybe, just maybe, replace Steady with Norris.... -
Great day I thought. Track was awful. Nicholls rode well I thought but Richardson was poor. Zagar was good, but I thought Iversen would do better. Produced a great last ride though to go round Zagar. Think he will go up the standings by the end of the year. Hancock was awesome in the heats and Bjarne and Crump were good. Stead was well off the pace in most of his rides, how people can suggest replacing the likes of Richardson with him I do not know - he would be even worse.

Taking The Good Luck With Both Hands!
Pinstripe replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wondered the same myself. Was a shame to see Puk struggle until he produced a stunning last ride. Great day tho I stayed off the booze after friday night! -
Lee Richardson
Pinstripe replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its fair enough to see the likes of PUK struggle, its his first year in the series. But Richardson has had chance after chance and has done sod all. Nicholls is good at league level but is awful in the GP's. Yes Niels is struggling, but it is his first year and not like he has been in it for years. Pepe has been round years and never impressed, neither has Richardson. -
Where is everyone meeting before the GP??

? Wild Card - Denmark
Pinstripe replied to Hansfan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
For god sake Garf, less of it. Your just bitter and twisted because your man Bjerre was not picked and Iversen was. Iversen had a higher EL average than Bjerre last year and has also done well in the GP's he has rode in. Give it a rest for god sake! -
Hans Andersen Statement
Pinstripe replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This is rubbish. The bottom line is Iversen, Zagar and Pepe have been chosen through no fault of their own. I personally think Iversen and Zagar will prove a lot of people wrong. No idea on Pepe, howver he was hardly impressive last time he rode GP's. Why Richardson is still in I do not know. Been in two or three years and barring one GP he has been totally crap. Wow he is British. Who gives a stuff? Richardson will not get better, he has reached his peak and will have another embarrasing year like 2004 and 2005. Nicholls was a fair bit better than Richardson and at least he provides some excitement. Richardson has to be the most boring rider in the series, as I feel the two new boys in Iversen and Zagar will show some thrilling racing as they both have shown in their wildcard meetings. I just cant wait for Subedei to be posting on here this time next year when both Iversen and Zagar are ahead of Richardson in the standings. -
Iversen has rode two GP's, both on a track he hardly knows as it is a one off track. 2004 he was 5th and 2005 he scored 7 and was unlucky to miss the final. Both he and Zagar will take the chance with both hands and do well. I do wish Subedei would shut up, I doubt he has even seen NKI ride before?
-
Give it a rest Subedei. Maybe BSI feel Andersen hasnt pulled up any trees over the past few years so they feel that another young Dane in Iversen deserves a chance. I think Iversen and Zagar will surprise a few, both are very professional with excellent machinery and are on the rise in the sport. One of Nicholls or Richardson should be slung out and Andersen should be in, preferably Richardson as he is the most boring rider ever. Had an awful year in the GP series and I bet he has another poor one this year.
-
Time for three fresh faces and in Iversen and Zagar there are two young exciting prospects. In Pepe I think they made the wrong choice, Andersen should be in there instead of him. But I agree with Iversen and Zagar they made a pair of good choices. Two young exciting riders with excellent futures. I think people should write them off at their peril!

Where can I find this years results and scorers from the Danish league(s)? Cheers Pinny

So, Racer X, is it safe to assume you are right in what you say about Vedel? If so, he could be a good asset. Racer X normally knows who is up to much and who isnt't (barring Jonas and Niels of course!! ) so he could be a good addition. I would think he would come in on 8, so that leaves us about 7.50 for a replacement for Colesy. We could become a handy team if things are done properly, though we certainly lack an established number one even though Collins is having a good year!!
