  1. Would have thought Lakeside would try to use Ben Morley? Who will cover Ashley Birks?
  2. Please see my friends blog on last night's meeting. Her first time at speedway along with others that I brought along and all loved it! http://squibbvicious.com/2015/07/lakeside-hammers-at-arena-essex/
  3. As a supporter of the the Hammers since the 80s, I have always enjoyed going to the Arena as unlike most other circuits, it actually has a bit of character. Typical to get negative comments from idiots who think all speedway stadiums should be, in part, a dog track with the usual boring cement hole on one side and 'grand' stand on the other. Each to their own, but I love the Arena and will miss it, all of it terribly should a closure occur.
  4. Looking forward to this. Hopefully a good performance will further raise the profile of British Speedway. We've actually had a good year. Tai, first British world champion since 2000 and first world cup final since 2010. Not bad for a nation going backwards. ..
  5. Richard Lawson should be considered for the squad imo. Maybe a bit soon for the main 4 but like Craig Cook is learning very fast and definitely has something there.
  6. Shame on anyone who would rather have Pedersen over Hancock. Greg is more talented than Pedersen imo without having to resort to dirty tactics. I personally wouldn't cross the road to watch Pedersen for what it's worth. I actually get a bit bored with Pedersen as he can't take it back after dishing it out. All the fella does is slide off when he gets touched with his arms a loft...the speedway version of diving. In football terminology, he'd be a Robbie Savage as opposed to a Roy Keane
  7. Howarth and Lawson are just starting to come on so this is not the time to confine them to the PL. The ruling is done with good intentions but im not sure they have thought this through properly. Wouldn't be surprised if this is heavily revised.
  8. There's no 'step up' if they are only racing each other. Pointless idea.
  9. Usually, progress is fairly simple for aspiring young riders and they end up being heat leader standard by 25. Was thinking about Martin Smolinski's rise to heat leader when I decided to start this thread. Quite incredible when you consider how long he's been around. The only other one who come to mind is David Norris. He was always a good standard to be fair but one season he looked world class. Any others come to mind?
