I went to Monmore Green for both Wolves v Bees and Cradley v Storm. My impression was the crowd for the Cradley match was bigger than the Wolves match. Was my impression correct? If so why would more people attend a less attractive fixture, with the result being more or less a foregone conclusion, when the World Champion is riding for Wolverhampton and Coventry Bees are very attractive away opposition and always used to attract a big crowd at Monmore Green. Is it cost of admission or what? Any ideas?

Harry Findlay still has four years left on his current unrestricted lease to run the Greyhound business. I don't know how long the Speedway lease has to run but I suspect it may only be on an annual basis. This may mean that any purchaser could not start work on demolishing the existing stadium and building a new one until 2017 at the earliest even if planning consent was obtained. This could mean CCFC playing outside of Coventry for some 5/6 years. That would be a non starter in my opinion.

I,m only stating what the Poole Stadium manager said after last years play off final. The figures you mention are from the distant past when additional accommodation had to be installed for the WCF and the Mark Loram comeback is just a make believe figure, dreamed up by someone like Shovlar I suspect, that was never officially announced.

The Poole Stadium manager announced after last years play off final (a meeting you may remember) that he was required to order the doors be shut when 3900 customers had passed through the turnstiles. This is the health and safety maximum attendance for a Speedway Meeting at Poole stadium. He also stated that this left about 400 people unable to enter the stadium. It was well documented at the time and I am sure if you look hard enough you will find mention of it on this forum. Stop living in your little dream world and get real!

What a joke! The crowd was woeful. CB252 is being generous with 1,500. The stand only holds 1,100 and it certainly was not full. The stadium only holds 3,900 and you're saying it was more than 50% full. Where do all these 2,500 people hide themselves?
