  1. Just cheeses me off that we get the usual "Aussies get all the help" postings from people with chips on their shoulders rather than in their butties; especially when folks should be aware of all the sacrifices that have been made by young Aussies and their families to have a go at their chosen sport. Let's not forget we've already seen a few young Colonials sacked by their clubs this year for not living up to pre-conceived expectations of their being the next Darcy Ward - it works both ways. Dave I think the bit about sacrafices and family is unfair. ALL riders and families make massive sacrafices to try and further there kids careers what ever country they come from. What is unfair that it seems to be that its not a level playing field in regards to the help that is given out. Really hope James gets a place soon as he is a great lad and has lots of potential.
  2. Shane Hazelden is not eligible for U15 this year as he turned 15 last october
  3. Shane is doing very well Shaz. He has done his usual trick of a speedy recovery and has been told he can start riding in a few weeks time. He has been in the workshop with me building new bikes up as the one in the accident was wrecked. He is doing two sessions a week with the same physio that helped him when he broke his femur. He is also doing as many sessions at the gym as he can fit in. He still has a bit of a limp but that is getting better by the week and has been told that the plate and screws will be taken out next winter but there is no problem riding with them in. He cant wait to get on his bikes again and is driving us mad at home. He will wait to at least after christmas before he starts riding again as he needs to build his strenght up in the gym first. Garry
  4. Good to hear you are riding well chris and keep up the good work, great kid and and and well mannered and a pleasure to talk too. Look forward to meeting you somewhen in the season. Shane and Garry
  5. Neil whether Shane rode is irelevent. As i said the main thing is the 250's are getting promoted and well done to all 7 riders , there parents and anyone who got involved in getting the whole thing off the ground. Shane will be moving on to a 500 in a couple of months and this is thanks to learning to ride on the 250. Without that experience he would not have made the progress he has. So lets hope that by these meetings starting to take place that it makes the move from junior track to 250 and then on to the 500 a smooth transition for the youngsters and a safer one at that.
  6. The main thing is that the 250's are being promoted, so well done to everyone involved. Lets hope that this helps to start the whole 250 thing off and more parents may consider buying 250's in the future. The whole idea of the 250 racing is a very good one and if it gets the support that is desrves then junior speedway racing may get back on track and produce some good riders for the future. So as a few have already said it needs more tracks to take this idea up. Garry
  7. He was not invited to ride,There seems to have been a bit of a misunderstanding but lets hope he will ride in them in the future
  8. Well done to Nick morris for his 3rd place. This lad is one to watch for the future.
  9. Thanks for you nice comments Najjer. Shane really enjoyed his first ever vist to Somerset. He loved the track and everything about the place. He is on a very steep learning curve with the 250 but is loving every minute of it. His permanent smile on his face last night said it all. Garry
  10. so its u15 lawn mower racing soon then we have not fitted ours yet but the grass does need cutting.
  11. The 250 jawa engines are now in, we picked ours up today. One excited 12 year old here who cant wait to ride it. Garry
  12. To be honest if they state what carb and cam they are using we might consider it, but to be honest the way they have handled all this has not been good. All my lad wants to do is race a bike and learn and have fun. We have ordered a new 250 engine from belhams as they has brought the new age limits in. I understand why they have done it and to a certain degree i agree with it, but if I buy this engine and it is not eligible to do the 250 rounds so be it. If that is the way things are going to be we will go our own route and let the lad enjoy his speedway rather than getting dragged into all the politics of what has gone on in the last few months, and to be honest i think i am not on my own with the way i feel. Garry
  13. Lazyrider is the carb you are talking about just a standard jawa flat slide carb? We have got an engine on order from the first batch as well. We was planning to use a dellerto on it at first just to get going as we have one. Garry
