Sheffield Vs Leicester Pl 30/5
psycho3a replied to lionking's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I wasn't there this evening but if its correct a supporter is criticised for stating our FOUR reserves are pants then I would be next for the public hanging !! I stated I won't be back until changes are made and its not looking like I will be parting with my hard earnt cash any time soon.. Our 4 reserves only beat the opposition 7 times from 16 rides.. What a slaughtering it would have been with Magnus in.. Odsalboy please continue to voice your opinion.. -

The fanzone the 1st year was really good and refreshing and broke the day up but last year was exactly the same as year 1 and looks like its planned exactly the same.. One of the biggest problems also is space .. You cannot get around to look at things as people are pushing about on a very narrow street.. Why can't it be in the castle grounds/park.. Loads of space no pushing and shoving and whilst the entertainment is in maybe sit and chill in the sun in the grass !! I fear though this will be same old same old so an hour in pub will have to be enforced -

There lies a problem, Sheffields 3 heat leaders were outscored by Ryes and that's our strength !! -

Another meeting and our 4 reserves had 18 races and beat the opposition twice !! Wtf we raced a premier league 4 man team and still got annialiated.. We will get lucky and go through but we will now have hoggy continuing to say how well we are doing.. Fed up and bored of promotion glossing over this shambles ..

If sheffields 4 reserves dont get 15 points between them its going to be two more humiliating scores... Stead and Wells will get about 27 points hopefully but that means the 4 reserves have to really back them up with at least 13 to 20 to keep the scoreline close... Will this happen are they capable ??????? I hope im wrong but could make the KOC return leg a none event with some empty terraces !

Well it now looks like everyone's fears are coming to haunt us.. The bottom 4 have consistently failed to beat opposition riders in the 4 premier league matches so far : Redcar away - 3 times from 18 rides.. Redcar home 5 times 19 rides.. Workington home 8 from 16 .. Berwick away 4 from 16 .. Our season is already starting to spiral out of control and if changes are not made soon it will be too late

Sheffield Vs Scunthorpe 04/04/2013
psycho3a replied to OdsalBoy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very very impressed !! On a bitterly cold night attendance was very good and after last night people will hopefully be coming back for more As everyone has said Facu was impressive using inside and outside for passes, Hopefully he wont be a one track pony as he will certainly encounter some tricky tracks were passing is difficult so will also need to gate. Knight looked capable proven especially when he crashed, having collected a back wheel, looked to be heading to the corporate boxes but had the ability to rescue it and pretty much save it from being a career ending crash.. Koppe improved but unsure if he will improve enough to warrant a 5 average (time will tell) It was certainly 100 times better than last year, fingers crossed it continues and also we can get the riders picking up points on our travels.. Ps was it Joel in the Peterborough leathers on Richard Halls bike ?? -

http://m.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/speedway-american-wells-could-end-up-back-on-track-1-5210689 This signing I would be happy with, showed great improvement at home but was very consistent away, if we could just manage to get out of the Hall deal and go for someone like Taylor Poole who is young and has aspirations to improve and ride at elite and world level, he had a bad injury last season and maybe came back to soon a little like Joe and Adam Roynon but they both proved themselves last season..
-
In the last xx number of years when have Sheffield ever made changes to the starting 7 barring injury.. That also concerns me I like loyalty but if 2013 starts poorly we stuck with it..
-
Well the signing of Hall does it for me.. I missed 50% of meetings last year which was more than I missed in the previous 12 years .. I really think this could be the end of Sheffield .. Some teams already have strengthened and they were top end of table last season.. I think we are weaker and will go backwards and win the wooded spoon by a comfortable margin .. We might win the odd home meeting but will certainly be very lucky to pick up more than half a dozen away points and will get some major embarrassing hammerings.. I think Mr Machin should take a good luck at were it all went wrong.. The addition of his Co Promoter I don't think it now matters what day they run as I have lost all interest with the potential re/signing of Hall
-
This is different.. Possibly 2 outright number 1s totally different idea but could work.. 2 experienced World Cup / Grand Prix riders packed with youth up and coming riders : Lukas Dryml 9.14 Ales Dryml 7.32 Ricky Wells 6.47 Taylor Poole or Richie Worral 5.99/5.71 Joe Haines. 5.04 Damien Koppe 5.00 Joe Jacobs/Simon Nielsen 3.00

Thursday
-
Entertainment at Home dreadful away, Most points for a win is away points.. The Premier league is mostly won on how teams fare away from home, we cant carry one track ponies any longer
-
I think Sunday would be ridiculous as people have family commitments, sporting activities etc, whereas a Thursday night is easier to swing .. I totally agree about the idea of a survey .. Ask the people who matter.. The supporters.. Like others before it was not the day that stopped people attending it was the ridiculous increase in prices especially kids and the shocking team that was constructed.. Leave on a Thursday and build a strong team with a out and out number 1 reduce the prices slightly and watch the crowds return on a Thursday... If its a Sunday 2 more deffo not coming I would gladly drive Richard hall to Workington to sign his contract if it meant he was not signing for Sheffield
