Whilst there does seem to be plenty of British riders about, I don't think many of them are getting team places at premier or elite level. Perhaps one of the forum statasticians can come up with some figures ?

Junior World Cup 2005 Teams And Details
suzuki star 882 replied to Hazzman's topic in International World of Speedway
Typical of our speedway "leaders" to reject this competition. Our new academy scheme would be the ideal start point for young British riders to progress to junior championships. Having seen some of our under 15's and budding CL riders I think they would actually do well, given the right support. -

Try using your brain SCB. The weather forecast was made days earlier, plenty of time to inform all riders, fans etc; of an earlier start time. -

During the preceding Conference League match presumably! Your comment is about as sensible as the organisation of the meeting. If the CL meeting had started say 2pm, the under 15's would have been finished before the track became unsafe. It would be nice if the speedway authorities were as professional as these young riders. -
Cheers Ole for a great track!
suzuki star 882 replied to mark cox's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I dont know why but Ole seems obsessed with slick, hard tracks. BSI need to realise that the fans ( and riders probably ) want more chances of passing. I think they are considering using more permanent tracks next year, but they will only produce good racing if Ole does not interfere with them ! -

I would like to say ******** to the organisers who did not have the initiative to start the meeting a couple of hours earlier, especially given the weather forecast ! -
I think it is a great idea, add in a speedway training academy, and fund it by skimming off a bit of TR's sky pocket money.

I suggest that the British Championship is run at the end of the season with automatic entry for the highest average British rider in every EL + PL team. The winner, and winners of all other countries domestic championships automatically go into the SGP next year to contest the world championship.
