  1. The ceremony possibly wasn't shown due to live golf from New York at 21.00?
  2. Worked hard for his 2nd place behind Darcy in heat 14 though! Iversen kept him more than honest!
  3. Just how can Cardiff be considered overpriced at £29 when you look at the price bieng charged for the "Elite" League Riders Cahmopinship at Swinidon in October? The ELRC is being advertised at £25 - hmmm, presentation will not be anywhere near that at Cardiff, nowhere near as good a view, all seater stadium, clean, loads of facilities to keep the ladies happy, the firworks, the spectacle of the event, the big screens, the racing, yes the racing this year was good imo and the track good. So who then has got the pricing wrong? Cardiff is a one off, the highlight of the British calendar, far better to be there than watch on the TV in my view, I'm lucky to be close enough that is no more than an hours drive away. I for one will not be going to Swindon at that price to see a depleted field as riders pull out for whatever reason, the poor facilites in comparison, the disruption of the weather etc etc.
  4. Cardiff is the annual spectacle in my opinion, last night a smooth track unlike many years ago shows that they are imprving the creation of artifical tracks year and year. Some excellent racing and fromt he start we didn't have all four hugging the white line - thought the track favoured the brave and the racers and some of the action on the third and fourth bend was outstanding, Freddie last going in and first out for intsnace. Date was fixed due to the Olympics and the preparation needed beforehand, did the clash with the cricket affect things? Well we will not know that nor will we know whether the football match at Swanse did either. Perhaps to my mind, the Bank Holiday staging was always going to be a potential problem with this being the last chance of the summer (yes, what summer) to have a break coupled of course the price. The cost of tickets apart form the lowest priced tickets seems to only go one way, the discount offered for early birds just brings the price back to last year's price, ok, better than paying the increased price for sure. However, the East stand at the upper level is nigh on empty again, why not grab the bull by the horns BSI / IMG and promote cheap tickets - why not sell early? Offer seats in the upper tier for £20 and see the result? The accommodation is out of their hands, cost will always be dictated by supply and demand, witness how wrong hoteliers got it by pricing themselves too high and left with empty rooms by the score, why not bulk book rooms themselves at the big hotels at a fixed rate? The accommodation issue has been attempted to be addressed by the earlier start time - bring it forward to say 16.00, would that work? All that said, I'm going to be getting my ticket for next year as soon as!
  5. Round by the pits entrance, take a look at http://media.speedwaygp.co.uk/docs/Cardiff_fanzone_266x170.pdf
  6. Hmmm, I was planning to take in this meeting but would prefer to see both teams at full strength - is there any reason being given for the change in time?
  7. Is this still available to visit as up in Scotland next w/e on a northern speedway tour lasting from Thursday to the Tuesday. A
  8. See http://www.speedwaygp.com/event/speedwaygp-2012-cardiff although the link provided to ticketmaster shows that they do not yet recognise this event!
  9. From twitter, 25th August at Cardiff, contract till 2016!
  10. Nothing mentioned tonight re next year either, normally they announce the date for next year during the meeting. Looks like either the MS have jacked up the price or IMG trying to bring it down...be a crying shame to loose the venue...what about the Olympic stadium post August or even Wembley?
  11. Tried to PM you - not accepting messages repsonse! Anyway, on behalf of friend - where are these tiks located, block and row would be good! Rgds A
  12. Can anyone confirm the start time of the meeting on 24th April against Dudley for me please as will be travelling down after taking in the berwick meeting the night before as part of a mini tour. Thks in advance A
  13. No sign of these appearing unless someone knows any different! Does anyone know when they might be published? Failing that, does anyone know of any NL fixtures for Easter Monday or for July 31st (Sunday)? Thks in advance. A
  14. Just to echo the previous comments re the new web site - clean and uncluttered, visually very good. Congratulations to the designer. Rgds A
  15. Does anyone know when the NL fixtures will be out? Trying to plan a sppedway trip over Easter and would be useful to know if any tracks are riding over that w/e. Any info would be appreciated. Thks A
  16. Agreed! Had thought Tyson was after and ready for a PL place this year - maybe this might be a doubling up spot? Will he get enough rides to make this pay? However, after reading the article, this looks like a numbers game especially if Tyron and Tai are remaining with Wolves and also the line "We have explained to him what we expect and the job he can do for us..." Hopefully this won't end in tears. Rgds A
  17. Steve - if you have the schedule agreed, are you not able to publish a list of venues and dates? Rgds A
  18. "Again this is for non-payment despite the fact the BSPA have owed me money for two years, whereas I owe them six months’ money.” Something doesn't seem to add up here! If this is correct then the BSPA have a case to answer in that why have they not paid PB and why weren't they monitoring payments - to end up being owed 6 months money (not sure what this is meant to cover or be for) smacks of poor administration on the part of the BSPA. Shouldn't they have been involved after a month of non payment? Also how can the bond to used to pay a fine? Can someone explain that? Do the riders who haven't been paid have a case against the BSPA? All in all, no matter which way this is read, an absolute mess. Rgds A
  19. Rider requests? Well you asked, how about a septet that includes Eddie (be hard to imagine a tour without him), Tyson (assuming he is not a PL rider), Austin, Gino and Bryce to name but five!? Not sure how feasible that might be Steve but be good PR material perhaps? Rgds A
  20. "The reason we are touring so much is based on Kenny Ingalls and Tyson Burmeister's progress, it seems that those riders who could make it to PL level need three tours to get to that level." Steve - whilst not wishing you to reveal anything untoward or anything that hasn't been agreed, do you think we are hopeful of seeing Tyson in the PL in 2011?
  21. I stand corrected! Thanks Jeff! Did think it a bit odd that there it was being portrayed differently! Not sure I agree 100% with Steve's direction from another post "but I also like to bring the riders I want to bring" sounds very much like the "little boys club" to coin the phrase. Hopefully it isn't like that as talent whether your face fits or not should be encouraged. All that said, it is an opportunity for these guys and not doubt takes up alot of time and effort to organise, so, I guess thanks Steve for doing it as I have seen these guys in both guises now and have enjoyed both although if pushed, I enjoyed the Dream Team visit more, that might have been due to location and many other variables though! Again, just my view!
