I,m affraid I can't help you with info about Graham Guthrie, before my time but in my mind there's absolutely no doubt that Cloive Fisherrr would be, by far the best announcer Swindon have ever had, If you could only decipher what he's saying!!! Closely followed by 'Bazzer' Mathews, sadly overlooked on many occasions by the Swindon promotion, but on his day star of the show even down to singing Elvis songs to the crowd. Top man!

Never mind starting it up now and then, why don't you ride the beast, that's what it was built for!!!!

What about 'Milton' ?

Cheers Nitram i'll speak to him on Thurs., mind you he'll probably just tell me to 'put me handlebars up, just like Kilby used to'! Bee, funny you should mention anything being bent, as the diamond is bent below the saddle and just before the forks . Must be honest, I've never heard of Fred Hodder, but you never know, thanks for the suggestion.

I know this is a huge long shot, but I wonder if anyone may be able to shed some light as to any previous owners of a bike? I bought a 1968 4b JAP off a chap in Swindon back in 1984, I took it apart to restore it and now 20 years later I've just started!!! The engine no. is JOS 68302 b and is a bit of a hybrid as it originally had a Cole mag. platform and it has a BTH mag. The barrel is an 'ALFIN' alloy type. The frame is a North, Jawa style one and has an NTF (North) dual fuel/oil tank. It has a Norton clutch on a Jawa style countershaft. The initials FH are stamped on the head and the bottom of the mag. As yet i've not been able to find any riders of that era with the initials FH, maybe it's a tuner? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't Mac Woolford's career finish with some bad injurys that still affect him now? Never knew he had a brother though.

Like I tell all the youngsters, if somebody's in front of you give 'em a good kick, how ever old they are! At last Crumpie's taken some notice!!!!!!!!!!!

Alun Rossiter, surely the greatest rider ever to be eligible to ride for Wales.

Christophers Dad, why do you turn every thread you post on into a slag off session of Chezza and her old chap? Even if according to your smilies it's said tongue in cheek it's getting personal. If Chris wants to be a speedway rider one day you'd do him more of a favour by trying to get on with people, not winding them up. Even if you think they won't be around for long, things have a habit of coming back and biting you, don't burn your bridges you never know when you'll need them again!

Who are you talking about then Mr. B?
-
Yes, and last night teamGB lived up to his immortal words 'England expects that every man will do his duty.' For any problems with jolly foreigners that need sorting, Horatio can be contacted at viscountnelson@victory.co.uk just tell him Hans is French!

Halifax must have been extremely crap if David Ashby managed to score 5+1, but as usual he still managed to let the side down by scoring the only zero in the team, bless his heart!

Well desert islands don't have electricity either! -
Pre-war Southampton centre green had a roller skating circuit and an area for roller hockey and tennis, can't imagine there was a football pitch though, there wouldn't have been enough grass!
-
Just one small point there Chezza, don't forget you're older than me! And believe it or not, I wish I had been at some of those old meets!

Registered ages ago, well worth it there's loads of old speedway footage on there!
