Wow, they look horrible. Feel slightly less concerned about Rye changing colours now.
-
I'd class an a-list celebrity as someone who everyone knows of no matter what their interests are. David Beckham for example is an a-list celebrity, Guy Martin, not so much.
-
I know who he is but I wouldn't be surprised by people not knowing him, he's hardly an a-lister.
-
Tends to be how these celebrity things work...
-
Wonder whether Guy will have a spin or has had a spin on a Speedway bike. Would be a good bit of publicity to get him on one at a Rockets or Raiders meeting.
-
Chessell has all the tools to be a top NL rider if he can stay on his bike, if he can eradicate the silly falls then he'll be solid back up for Clegg and Morris.
-
Damn Compton and him dropping his average before retiring just to engineer a short spell at Glasgow prior to re-signing for Sheffield a whole three years later.
-
Was this event run on an invitation basis or just for riders that could afford it? It is good that weekends like this are being arranged for our young riders, although if the best ones or the ones with the most potential are missing out because they can't afford it are we not missing the point? It's a positive step though, hope it continues and the riders who did attend have benefitted.

No reason has been given really, the loss of Bowtell and Hume will hit us hard though and be a benefit to the sides they have joined. With those two and Hunter who we have managed to keep hold of we had the bottom end of a decent side, that's not to be now sadly. Of course that's a bit of a tangent from Eastbourne! It'll be interesting to see how Kyle Hughes gets on, looked back to his best with us last year, hope to see him keep it up.

I support Rye and there's plenty to be critical of there. Nothing personal against him or Eastbourne, I just don't see where all the hype surrounding him has come from when he has had one half decent season since 2009.
-
Anyone can look impressive in practice. As for being on BWD's bikes that doesn't make any difference whatsoever, I could jump on them and I bet you they wouldn't even go sideways. He has finished one season with an average over seven. He's a six point rider at NL level. He had some time with Sheffield in the PL and struggled.

Knight has been riding league Speedway since 2009 and is a six point NL man, wouldn't get too excited over him.

Premier League Predictions 2016

Will there be a dog track at the new Swindon stadium? Radical thinking but why not say "This is the race night for the Elite League, if you don't like it then drop into the Premier League." We can't keep sacrificing the good of the sport as a whole for one or two clubs.

All it takes is an official post on the club's website to dispel doubts and prove that the paying customers' opinions are being listened to/cared about.

Until standardisation is introduced to the sport worldwide it will be one of those things that sounds like a good idea but isn't. Bring it in for the NL and the top boys will have to have two sets of bikes because they will be the ones riding PL also against riders who can do as they please (within limits) with their bikes. Bring it in for the EL and we'll see the few top riders that can be bothered to race over here decide it isn't worth their time because they'll need to be investing in new gear just for Britain, that's not going to happen. If bike standardisation is high on the BSPA's agenda I fear for the future of the sport in Britain. Focus needs to be on how we can get more fans into each and every meeting at all levels, how we can make the Elite League a viable proposition for the best riders in the world and most importantly of all how we can develop our own talent to be competitive on the world scene in the next 10-15 years.

Always thought Bridger would do better if he put substance over style, get out and score points rather than hanging off the bike trying to look good for the cameras. Rather have a bloke on an eight point average with no frills than a six pointer who rides around with one leg sticking out any day of the week.

People complained Rye wasn't a good race track to stage it on, so it's moved to Leicester...
-
Of course, I was referring to his second stint though.

Searching for something positive to say but really struggling. The new logos just don't do it for me for a start, while the blue and yellow are synonymous with Rye House in Speedway circles. This shouldn't have been changed. Quotes coming from 'Team BMR' don't sound professional, there needs to be a person attached to what is being said, otherwise it feels impersonal. Who is saying these things about the club, the riders etc? What weight does their opinion hold? The team that has been put together is simply not good, people need to stop trying to sugarcoat it. One heat leader, 4 second strings, an untried newbie who by most accounts will struggle and our mandatory three pointer. A new regime want to make their mark, that is understandable, but you have to embrace the things that already make the place tick and the people that come through the gates each week. 'It's my toy and I'll do what I like with it' or words to that effect didn't work for Silver, a man who had given us two league titles and managed to get speedway back into the stadium at Rye, for the new promotion to seemingly be going down the same route there is no chance it will work for them. We need a vision of where the club is going on and off track, it can and should be an exciting time for fans, a new era. How do the promotion make it that? Communication. Tell us what is happening, tell us why it is happening and we will be more content and happier as a fanbase. Tell us why the team building was a huge balls up, tell us why Nicolai Klindt decided he'd rather go to Leicester/Scunthorpe. Smoke and mirrors don't help anybody.
-
Going to one league would be a massive regression. Just because the EL is a failing product, why should the PL have to take the hit to bail it out?
-
Communication is key, there's no reason that some details cannot be disclosed to nip speculation in the bud. If there are planning issues then say so, if the promotion want to fill the crater in the car park in but there are reasons they can't then say so. People are a lot more understanding when they are told things.
-
There hasn't been any speedway since October, I've not forgotten about it, have you?
-
Priority should always be given to the higher standard of competition, it's a sport. Allegedly.
