Berwick V Sheffield - August 15th
The Third Man replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You should have been at Sheffield when Vissing turned right on Paul Cooper just entering the third bend, after watching for him for the length of the back straight -
Sheffield Vs Rye 30th July Pl
The Third Man replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agree with all of this Lots of sour grapes on here, and some crazy comments about how good Garrity and Bates are from the Rye supporters, considering how few were there, they must all have been stood in the same place to see all the action and all must be posting on this thread -
Premier League Play-offs 2015
The Third Man replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway

John Cook Talks A Lot Of Sense
The Third Man replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I am sure you read what I put but just to summarise for you, there were guests, but about as many in a season as we get in a month now, so guests yes, but not the same as today, which was your point I was answering. -
John Cook Talks A Lot Of Sense
The Third Man replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
when I started going there were guests for your no 1 only, not for reserves, no 8s replaced reserves RR for 2nd and 3rd heatleaders, not anyone in the top five, if both teams had rr then no 8s were promoted if both teams were missing a number 1 no guests, no 8s were promoted this led to the majority of matches being 7 a side matches, anyone remember what they were so when I started going it was nothing like today and we had proper reserves in the old BL not juniors as we have today in the EL so you had a PL select against a PL select, if that was not dressed up as a PL match but listed as a challenge match would everyone there today have gone? -

Referring to the double points thing, I have never liked it, getting extra for doing the same as you would for getting 3 points I have never understood, at least with the old system you had to gain the points. however what really brought it home to me how micky mouse it is was when I was watching the Glasgow Sheffield match on TV. when Sheffield went 10 points down and Tatum said that because of being 10 points down they could nominate a rider to get double points, really reminded me of the serious sport of "Its a knockout" -
You keep saying this can I ask you where you have got the full facts of this case from, who is your source? just so we can all be as certain as you whos fault it is and therefore why a facility shouldn't be granted

Sheffo's Proctor Out!
The Third Man replied to TheScotsman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
but also anyone in this thread is only commenting on what is in the public domain, none of us know the full facts, and we never will unless all the parties involved disclose all they know. so we are commenting on what someone has been told, as presumably none of us were party to the actual discussions between the rider / promotion / BSPA, be it the truth or not can you name your sources, the ones who were present at all the meetings who have told you ALL the facts, or would they rather not be named? -
Sheffo's Proctor Out!
The Third Man replied to TheScotsman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
the problem is some people do get told information that is not in the public domain and cant say anything because of who told them others discuss the rights and wrongs of what is in the public domain that's life I am afraid -
Thats why I had to reply, surely a rider belongs to the lowest league he rides in not the highest, otherwise why would an EL rider want to ride in PL so because something has a title that makes it that thing, and anyway which word is the "higher" word Elite or Premier, something else open to interpretation and opinion. and shouldn't a leagues title be its lowest common denominator, and not a few riders at the top, so perhaps the EL should be known as the NL plus, just an opinion of course
-
7 of the 13 on show are PL riders riding in the EL, which just shows what a poor standard the EL must be

Just a slight alteration to the directions. the roundabout is no more, turn into where the new Sainsbury supermarket is and turn round there, and head back in the direction you came from. Lets fill this car park up first, more money for Ricky if we do, cant see any of the stadium car park money being donated to Ricky, buts lets hope they do the same Thanks Wednesdayite
