Vissing against Paul Cooper at Sheffield, the only rider I can say deliberately knocked another rider off
-
No just a jam on the M60, then another to get onto the M67, then another getting off the M67, then a jam through Mottram, then over Woodhead behind a lorry, every time regular journey for me at the moment, the road link between Sheffield and Manchester is 40 years out of date, usually average 20 mph or you can try the M62
-
Have you driven between Sheffield and Manchester? Takes about 2.5 hours, probably still less time than Redcar though
-
Remember that one, and Haley did it from the back as well and at Halifax in 68 second part of a double header with the lesser tigers Bob Paulson riding round the boards in the heat 13 to beat Boocock and Boothroyd to draw 39-39

Was also a class act for Sheffield, all the above could also be said about him when he was with us

Premier League Speedway Agm
The Third Man replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looks like all teams to have a NL rider at number 7, that should reduce costs for promoters and supporters then -
I hope the prices drop if 30% of the riders I am going to watch with be of a lower standard to this year this cold be the final nail in the coffin for me with regards to speedway

Fully agree
-
Easy In March give us the cut off points for the fours, pairs and PLRC say all league matches have to be concluded by the end of the first week in September next two weeks play off QF next two weeks play odd SF next two weeks final do the same for the round of the cup and league cup all teams and supporters know whats happening, if you don't fulfil your fixtures you are out how radical would be that be however as this is speedway that will be far too hard to organise

Me too, he seems to be the only person in the stadium who thought there was anything wrong, he must have a unique view from somewhere -
Berwick V Sheffield - August 15th

You should have been at Sheffield when Vissing turned right on Paul Cooper just entering the third bend, after watching for him for the length of the back straight -
Sheffield Vs Rye 30th July Pl
The Third Man replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agree with all of this Lots of sour grapes on here, and some crazy comments about how good Garrity and Bates are from the Rye supporters, considering how few were there, they must all have been stood in the same place to see all the action and all must be posting on this thread -

John Cook Talks A Lot Of Sense
The Third Man replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I am sure you read what I put but just to summarise for you, there were guests, but about as many in a season as we get in a month now, so guests yes, but not the same as today, which was your point I was answering. -

The Third Man replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
when I started going there were guests for your no 1 only, not for reserves, no 8s replaced reserves RR for 2nd and 3rd heatleaders, not anyone in the top five, if both teams had rr then no 8s were promoted if both teams were missing a number 1 no guests, no 8s were promoted this led to the majority of matches being 7 a side matches, anyone remember what they were so when I started going it was nothing like today and we had proper reserves in the old BL not juniors as we have today in the EL so you had a PL select against a PL select, if that was not dressed up as a PL match but listed as a challenge match would everyone there today have gone? -

Referring to the double points thing, I have never liked it, getting extra for doing the same as you would for getting 3 points I have never understood, at least with the old system you had to gain the points. however what really brought it home to me how micky mouse it is was when I was watching the Glasgow Sheffield match on TV. when Sheffield went 10 points down and Tatum said that because of being 10 points down they could nominate a rider to get double points, really reminded me of the serious sport of "Its a knockout" -
You keep saying this can I ask you where you have got the full facts of this case from, who is your source? just so we can all be as certain as you whos fault it is and therefore why a facility shouldn't be granted
