Other than all the crashes caused by the watering. I just don't get the comment about GB being "not as good as they believe themselves to be". We were nicely poised, and then got screwed by the track. We could/should easily have been a race from the race-off, and just two races from World Champions...

I've received an email from someone asking me about a "European Championship" held at Ostrava on September 28, 1947. Obviously, it was an unofficial championship, but it was mentioned in Basse Hveem's book. Eric Chitty was second, Hveem third, and Karl Killmeyer fourth. It was won by one of the Craven brothers, and I assume it was Malcolm. Can anyone confirm, or provide any additional info, please?
