  1. I have some great memories of the place. Just scary to think that it's nearly 50 years ago...
  2. 4 points in 1963, and 7 (and two E/F's) in 1964.
  3. Unfortunately, upping it to 24 would mean 8 more also-rans... There just isn't the strength in depth these days.
  4. To be honest, I have no idea why they reduced it to top 6, as we knew what would happen. If course, it happened because we have limited suitable choices... The one thing that gets me is that people whine about the top however many getting their spots for the following year. What they forget is not only that it IS qualification, but they are having to qualify against the world's best, which is not the case with the GP Challenge.

  6. It seems that you want riders in "on merit", so I assume you want as close to the Top 15 as is possible? So, how many riders NOT in the GP's would have made five semi-finals this year? Which is what Lambert did...
  7. You sure he won 5, Bob?

It's really sad that I was not only that young, but all my heroes were that much older than me. 9. Sadly confirmed on Facebook by his son Tony. R.I.P. Al...
  10. So, you weren't a famous author back then?
  11. I was hoping that Tai could finish ahead of Janowski and Madsen as that would help his finishing position. It's weird how we had the riders in 5th, 6th, and 7th all in the final.
  12. The same reason it hasn't been all season, and the same reason it wasn't allowed in the Olympics...
  13. Proof that in ANY sport, the head is the single most important factor...
