Reading Tonite
-DelBoyRodders- replied to lawman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well we did get the rain you had plus a load more. BUT THE MEETING STILL WENT AHEAD NO PROBLEM. PLUS THEY HAD TO WATER THE TRACK DURING THE MEETING. The Smallmead track is quite unique. Maybe now people will stop coming on here after a few spots of rain on Monday and then going into a blind panic about whether it will go ahead or not. We've had two rainoffs this year, but both could and should have gone ahead with a little more thinking. Reading is the best track in the country for getting wet meetings on, but sadly when it's hot and dry we know what happens. -

Putting loads of dirt on a track is not always the answer, and doesn't always gaurentee good racing. Take a look at the Oxford track prior to the start of this season. The big problem with the Smallmead track is that it is TOO DRY. The best racing at Reading is always when we've had a wet day on race day. Racing is then usually a bit sticky for 3-4 races and then after that it's as good as anywhere. Track staff need to flood the damn thing for tomorrow's meeting. -

I think you also have to take into account that the Reading track is quite unique. In all my years of watching speedway I would have to say the Smallmead track is the best track in the country for getting wet meetings on, when almost all others would be called off. Take the recent Reading V Poole Sky meeting - it rained all day up until 5.30pm. But unfortunately when it's hot and dry, we get last night's scenario. -

How many go through to the GPs from that lot? -
Swedish Speedway Free On Tv4+

Absolutely brilliant - thanks. Is there any way we can download the entire video to our hard drives? -
Sounds impressive - surprised we haven't heard about this disk before. Can someone order one, and then tell me if it's any good?

And if I remember correctly they followed it up just seven days later with a 74-16 win over Glasgow?

Jason Crump 2004 World Champ
-DelBoyRodders- replied to shazzybird's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nice one Jason - about time too mate!! -
Maybe he had engine failure?? I think you'll find he was a bit more than your average number one!!
-
I admit it's a nice idea - in theory. Perhaps the BSPA could get Ken Bates to put a consortium together, as he did such a great job getting the new Wembley Stadium up and running.
-
Who's going to pay for this super stadium then?

Well Done Crumpy

So what happens if they finish level on points - Crump scores 8, and Rickardsson gets the 25? is there a run-off? -
Well Done Crumpy
-DelBoyRodders- replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Best of luck to Crumpy - I sooooo much want him to win it this year. By my calculations he just needs to make the semi-final in Norway. If he misses out on that the deserter HAS to win the final. -
Rickardson rides his luck
-DelBoyRodders- replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In your dreams. -
I thought that was a good joke but after tonight you could be right: will Crump defeat from the jaws of victory again Pull yourself together man <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To be completely honest it was only a bump on the track that cost him a place in the final - that's not throwing it away, that is just bad luck!! He's still in a geat position and a win in Ploand will just about wrap it up.

Is this meeting 2 semis and a final after the 20 heats? -
Crumpy what a legend!
-DelBoyRodders- replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You are so right. But Ican't understand how "Ninja-Crumpy-Turttle" was not excluded for the rest of the evening and banned for one or two more GPs as punishment for the unsporty behaviour. You are joking of course? NOT AT ALL. Ninja-Crumpy has showed so much unsporty behaviour in the GP-serie this year. Talk about tunnel vision, when exactly? -

So we should forgive and forget then? People were going on about Maradonna's hand of god for far longer than a week after it happened you know.
