Agree totally Montie, Daley rode well at Buxton when he was required to take six rides, and also was not off the pace at Kings Lynn when failing to score. He has looked a little over eager at times at home, but he is getting there. Agree with that, the lad has talent for sure, hopefully our promotion will stick with him for now, and give him some help with his machinery

Bad news for Stoke just as we reach the business end of the season - it will be interesting to see who lines up for them on Monday at Mildenhall 1. Birks? will he arrive from a 3pm PL fixture +at Scunthorpe in time? 2. R/R 3. Atkin 4. Andrews 5. ??? 6. Carr 7. Rumsey

The truth behind the 3pm / 4.30pm start time will never fully be explained however much the usual 'internet commandos' drag it up. What is for sure is it is no excuse for the behaviour yesterday! I have travelled around the country with Mildenhall, and whilst we have some noisey and loud fans I have not witnessed that sort of bad feeling since the days we used to do battle with Newcastle in the early eighties, and at least back then there was humour involved. Don't get me wrong, in yesterdays atmosphere throwing a Dudley flag on the dog track after the Garrity/Irving incident wasn't very clever and I wouldn't defend it for one moment. But ... Heat 1 in the mainstand Jacobs slides off at the back, a Dudley supporter with I think 'Bish' on his back cheers loudly whilst throwing the w*****s sign in Jacobs direction ... quality, nice start For the first time in 8 years of taking my daughter I need to check on her to see she is ok, she tells me parents where she stood with friends have told a group of Dudley supporters to move away from their children if they cannot contain their foul language, this happens again a little later..... quality again. I can't comment on bend two's activities so unlike others that were not there I won't, but the likes of Mr Mungo dont blow things out of proportion I know that much. As I am leaving a friend tells me that he had been speaking to a Dudley fan who was so apologetic of his fellow supporters behaviour, blaming drink as some had been on the booze since the bus left. He said he wished he club would sort them out!! Now blame 3pm, Roynon not being there, the weather, Michael Lee or whatever, but Pearson and co need to get the house in order quickly. If this is acceptable behaviour then Dudley as a club have a big problem! The meeting was very enjoyable with plenty of good racing but as Mr Mungo says the atmosphere was not. Irving and Garrity were two fine guests who certainly gave their all and for Dudley Ritchings impressed as well. BTW Perry was there with his arm in a sling someone said? Is he ok?

villiers210 - fentigers79 has kindly posted the promotion contact details for you. You have a question ask them, how can any supporters on here answer your question? I think this is a case where you have a question and an answer already, and even if someone did try and answer you wouldn't be satified unless it agreed with your view. Surely it's time to move on, Sunday is nearly here, weather looks ok, lets enjoy the meeting with everyone coming through unscathed and hopefully, fingers crossed, look forward to meeting in the KO Cup final and Play Off Final (although I am sure Stoke will have something to say about that ) in Ocotber!

I am still looking forward to this meeting greatly, Garrity and Irving are two exciting riders to watch and add them to the rest on show we still have a great meeting to see. I wouldn't insult Halsey, Nielsen, Jacobs, Bates and Terry-Daley by bleating on about the missing Heeps and Blackbird, but then for me it has always been club first! Obviously Dudley supporters on here view it differently. I wonder how Bekker, Greenwood, Ritchings and W-Williams feel as they seem to almost have been dismissed with Morris and Roynon missing?

Well you are at least consistent! consistently wrong If Heeps wasn't injured he would have been riding for Ipswich on Sunday, so his injury made no difference for Sunday, keeping up? How about trying to post facts for once Heathen1984? Actually you do your side an injustice, with Irving booked as a guest you could still win (he was excellent in the NL Pairs at Mildenhall recently), alot will depend on our choice of guest (from who is available), don't suppose you had considered that.

What confusion about last week??? It was advertised long before the meeting that it would be a 3pm start!! Actually posted on the clubs facebook page on 22nd July and on their Official website on the 20th July. As the meeting was not until Sunday 5th August surey that was enough notice? Of course unfortunately due to weather conditions it didn't in fact start until 4.45pm, but surely that was better than another rainoff?

I have been asked to post this by the Mildenhall promotion SO PLEASE don't shoot the messenger, I know nothing of what is going on. - The only meeting that there was an agreement with Leicester to change was the Stoke meeting. We have not discussed with anyone changing the start time for the Dudley fixture, we do not know where these rumours started. Dudley have never spoken to us about changing the meeting start time. The meeting will be starting at 4.30pm on the 19th August - Mildenhall will actually also be without Cameron Heeps, so it is not as one sided as being stated. For me (and this is my personal view) it is a great pity that five top riders will miss what should be one of the fixtures of the season, but I guess that is what can happen when both teams are full of exciting young riders on the way up.Also had the weather been kinder I would have said move it to another date, but free fixtures are few and far between this season I would think (I don't know) after all the rainoffs.

Agree 2ndbendpostie, totally out of order. As Mildenhall supporters we have to face up to the fact that if our young team is successful the result will be the riders moving up to the PL either this year or in the future. Personally I have no problem with that. Top quality post Damon, some people have short memories too. It was only two years ago the club was closing for the third time in our history, and the future looked pretty bleak! I'd say since the current promotion took over we have had little to complain about.

Usual quality comment :rolleyes: Who do you suggest they replace Blackbird with? And if you are right and he "gets dumped" by Leicester maybe a short period of R/R may work in our favour? As for Saturday night R/R at Number two seems ok to me, Nielsen, Halsey, Jacobs and either of the reserves should be ok. Looking forward to the meeting and hopefully we will bounce back immediately after Sundays blip and claim three if not all four points!!

From the Mildenhall website - Mildenhall Fen Tigers have been given a boost ahead of their crucial National League clash with Stoke Potters at West Row this Sunday (3pm), with up-and-coming teenage star Josh Bates declaring himself fit to ride despite a heavy fall at Buxton last weekend. It had been feared the youngster was facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, after landing on the shoulder that's caused him trouble since an early season crash. But after treatment from speedway specialist Brian Simpson he will be able to race on Sunday. Mildenhall Co-promoter Michael Lee said, "The problem with Josh's shoulder is quite complicated and at some point he will need to give it some rest to let it fully recover. But, as always, Mr Simpson's treatment has been a massive help and Josh is determined to carry on riding." Lee is fully aware that another tough task lies ahead for the Fen Tigers as they look to keep their unbeaten league record intact against the Potters. "With Simon Lambert back and Ashley Birks leading them, they can never be under estimated and I'm sure Ben Reade will be determined to make up for the off day he had here in the Pairs. We had some terrific tussles with them home and away last year, where we came out firmly on top, so I am sure they'd love to get one back on us." Before the two sides battle it out for the league points on offer, Mildenhall Number One Cameron Heeps will go head to head with Ashley Birks for the Bronze Helmet. "It makes it a great double bill of action and it'll be a real feather in his cap if Cam can win it," Lee added. Agree with all the above Adz, saturday night speedway is really good shame it cannot be our usual race night for me. Stefan has just come on incredibly recently, 18, 15 (paid), 14 (paid) and 16 in his last four meetings I think ? (Mr Mungo can correct or confirm). He looks real quality and surely PL teams will be giving him a crack in that league sooner rather than later. Josh looked so smooth on the bike last night, he is improving quickly under the guidance of Louis Carr and the Mildenhall promotion. As for the referee, best left unsaid Buxton were good value though and if ex-Fen Tigers Priest and Felton had shown anything they may well have nicked a point. Definately much improved with Charles Wright in the line up.

If it is 'form', rather than averages surely Stefan Nielsen should be there?

From the Official Mildenhall Website There is a double bill of action at Mildenhall this weekend as the club host the prestigious National League Pairs Championship on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm), following a crucial National League encounter at West Row on Saturday evening (7pm) against the rejuvenated Buxton Hitmen. Co-Promoter Michael Lee feels a great weekend of action lies ahead. "The Pairs promises to be a cracking meeting. I know our boys, Cameron (Heeps) and Lewis (Blackbird) will be there and thereabouts, but the more I look at the rest of the field the more difficult it is to see a weak pairing. I guess that if you had to pick a favourite it might be Simon Lambert and Ashley Birks for Stoke, but suddenly Buxton look strong. Robert Branford loves riding Mildenhall and Charles Wright's return has given them a big boost. "It should be a terrific afternoon's racing and we look forward to welcoming supporters from all over the country to West Row. It's a great honour for us to stage this meeting and we want it to be a day to remember for everyone." The club have kept admission prices pegged at £12 for adults, £11 for concessions, with children under 15 admitted free. There will also be a full colour 24 page souvenir programme. Before that, the Fen Tigers face Buxton on Saturday night, with Lee feeling their long home unbeaten record could come under serious threat. "No offence to Buxton, but a few weeks ago people would have laughed if I had said that, but now they look a strong and classy outfit. Getting Charles Wright back was a real coup for them. We all know what Branford can do around here. He has been living in New Zealand with his family for the last few years and has been coached by no less than Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs and Ivan Mauger!"
