  1. When Bowden signed him he said he was a rider he admired
  2. I agree montie, i think the only one that don't is Bowden, at least Ben is a tryer, Holder is very trying, Tom Brown outscored him on friday at the SBA, and he hasn't been on a bike for a year.
  3. Putting Ben Reade in the main body of the team, great team building by Mike Bowden.
  4. I agree, well done Nicki for doing that, maybe if all the riders did the same we would get somewhere with Bowden, to agree to a drop in wages means you get less and Bowden gets more, why would anyone agree to that, because we all know what Mike Bowden it about, if you don't then where have you been for the last six years.
  5. Dave it says in the local paper tonight that Reade could be out for a while, if so what then.
  6. Will be very interesting to see what Bowdens does, he won't want to spend any money, so we will just have to wait and see, when has Bowden ever looked at the rule book, i think i saw it in the toilet down at the track
  7. I just hope that if someone do come in and take over the club they don't ask Bowden for any advice
  8. I would have gone for Lee, not many better riders around Stoke in the NL than Lee, much better than Cockle i would think, don't understand the thinking bringing Cockle in.
  9. Bowden need's to look at how Leicester have turned there team around from last year after they finished bottom, they are now second in the PL, where are the Devils second bottom, now that's the way not to do it, but with someone like Bowden at the helm only thinking about how much money he can make, and not caring one bit about putting together a balanced team, what do you expect, what we have, a team at the bottom end of the PL.
  10. Don't be so sure of that, Holder is NL standard and he interested the promotion at Plymouth.
  11. Yep there are one or two Queens around in speedway, handbags flying everywhere in some meetings.
  12. In my opinion all any average speedway supporter needs to know when watching his or her's team are the basic rules during a meeting, it did not take away my enjoyment over the last 40 years not knowing all the rules, and if my dad had told me i should read up on the rules before he would take me, i think i would have gave up, and tried chess or something else.
  13. No mate, i think it is fundametal for the sport to get him out, then maybe we can get someone in at Plymouth who can follow the rules
  14. So you think it is a fundamental requirement to know all the rules if you want to follow the sport of speedway Dave, i bet if you ask most riders about the rules they wouldn't have a clue about them, for you to say it is a fundamental requirement to know them to follow the sport i think you need to sit down and engage you brain before you make a statement like that, most people just like to watch the sport, and not all of us are masterminds of the sport like you seem to be Dave, i leave knowing the rules to experts who can tell you everything to do with the rules, and good for them, i have watched the sport for over forty years, and have never tried to read the rulebook, i just like watching the sport, the basic rules of speedway are the only one's anyone needs to enjoy the sport, but who am i to argue with an expert of the sport like you.
  15. Great to see Matt back in the sport, all the best to you Matt.
  16. Can someone explain to me how at the weekend Newcastle can use Paul Starke 3.00, and Robin Aspregren 5.68 = 8.68 has guest's for Richie Worrall 3.64 and Steve Worrall 3.45 = 7.09.
  17. Bowden only had one thing in mind from the first day he open the gates at the SBA, put has little money into the club has possible, and to take has much out has possible, you only have to look at the state of the area around the track to see that, for him too say his only aim was to bring speedway back to the city of Plymouth is complete rubbish, we all know now the real reason, there are one or two things to be sorted, but hopefully and with a bit of luck he will be gone soon.
  18. Devils rider Glanz out in the cold after injury PLYMOUTH Devils boss Mike Bowden has admitted Dane Nicki Glanz is unlikely to return to the St Boniface Arena in the near future. Glanz, who disappeared from the Plymouth line-up earlier in the season after sustaining an injury, has not been back since. The Dane was supposed to be recuperating in his own country, but is now locked in a contract wrangle with the Devils. His decision to stay put in Denmark is apparently the result of Plymouth's decision to cut riders' wages so the club stay afloat. Chairman and promoter Mike Bowden has been increasingly concerned about falling crowd numbers caused, for the most part, by poor weather. Bowden said: "It is true to say that the club is in a contractual dispute with Nicki. "I don't know what he's doing, because I haven't spoken to him, but I'm not sure we'd have him back anyway." Glanz is highly unlikely to solve his dispute with the Devils before tonight's Premier League meeting away to Ipswich Witches (7.30). The Dane, unless the attitude of both parties thaws rapidly overnight, can also safely be ruled out of tomorrow's league meeting with Workington at the St Boniface Arena (7.30pm). Even if Glanz was available, he would not solve Bowden's problem of how he is going to replace injured reserve Robert Ksiezak. Ksiezak looks as though he is going to be sidelined for a considerable amount of time after apparently breaking an ankle while guest-riding for Berwick. Scans are still being carried out on the injury, although doctors have told Ksiezak they are pretty certain the heavily-bruised ankle is broken. Ksiezak, however, has the lowest average – the number of points a rider is expected to win during a meeting – of any of the Plymouth team. Regulations insist Bowden has to bring a guest rider with the same average into the team – and there aren't any available. The Devils' chairman said: "My main problem is there are no riders available to bring into the team. "I've gone through a list of Premier League riders, but there's nobody available with an average as low as Robert. "The difficulty is everybody is riding tonight and of course we're going to have the same problem tomorrow night. "I'm now going through a list of National League riders, but nothing is really jumping out at me." Bowden may be forced to use the rider replacement facility, where Ksiezak's team-mates James Holder and Ben Reade would ride extra races to fill in for him. Plymouth have delayed naming their team for tonight's meeting. Read this report in the local Plymouth paper today, and i give credit to Nicki Glanz for sticking it to Bowden, i don't blame the lad for not coming back, there is only one person who isn't taking a pay cut out of this, and we all know who, he's taking it all, and we all know why the support is dropping, nothing to do with the weather.
  19. That would be one of many names you could call Mike (Dad) , but Devildogger seems good to me, i think he must be a dog lover I think the medical room is a little bigger
  20. No but i think the barmaid would know about it
  21. Just had a personal message from bads1971 saying whoever you are you need to stop putting stuff on the forum about Mike, i think she means dad, she says what you have heard is not true, the place isn't a dump like you say, Mike (dad) isn't going anywhere, your cosy chats with Seemond as if, if you don't like the way speedway is being run don't go simple as, you hide behind a name Devildogger, it's Devildodger, and my real name is Roger Martin, and i stand by everything i have said, babs1971 whoever you are.
