  1. Not the best of meetings due to the weather but the experience of the Mildenhall riders was the difference in the end. Got to feel for Martin Knuckey. He worked hard to get himself into some good positions just to get caught out in some very difficult track conditions. He looked pretty dejected but he should keep his pecker up as he was very unfortunate. I thought young James Shanes was impressive. Needs to stop looking behind him entering the corners though!
  2. Yes, lots of rain since about 4.00pm yesterday unfortunately. The track might be able to cope with it though if we don't get too much more!
  3. ................and Main Man's not doing a bad job either!!!
  4. Same here Markyb. My 8 year-old granddaughter was team mascot for the EL meeting against Eastbourne and now she is totally hooked and wants to go to all the EL and NL meetings. This is exactly what we need to be doing to attract the next generation of speedway supporters. Mick & Neil are definately doing all the right things at Brandon and I think it shows with attendances etc. Back to the meeting. Good luck to the Storm on Friday, this should be a good test for the team and looking forward to seeing 16 year-old James Shanes making his debut.
  5. Another very enjoyable meeting last night with the Storm lads performing very well indeed. I thought it would be a lot closer with the experience of riders such as Smart, Chessel, Reade and Priest. Pretty decent crowd again too.
  6. Yes sorry - hadn't meant to put anyone off, just not checked the weather in the last 24 hours or so.
  7. Hope to be there tomorrow night, weather permitting. Great value speedway racing if previous meetings are anything to go by.
  8. Bo Brhel second on the right.
  9. Just to add the commentary and roving mike interviews was very good too.
  10. Yes, enjoyed the racing last night - there were some good races from the Storm lads against a very strong Mildenhall especially with Adam Ellis guesting for them. As has been mentioned, took a while to get through the heats with the numerous crashes but the track did look tricky to ride particularly early on. Good value speedway racing I reckon - glad we have an NL team this season.
  11. Looking forward to this meeting - hope the weather holds out!
  12. I spoke to Adam at the Coventry fans forum on 3 May and he said he expected to be back riding in 2 weeks so I would think any time now.
  13. I played the game last weekend with my son & granddaughter who is 7. She was a bit young to play on her own to fully understand the rules but she really enjoyed it as she loves speedway. We didn't manage to finish the game as we ran out of time but I can see it is going to be very addictive. My son wants to know when we are playing next!!! As has been said previously, I can see it will appeal to the strategy game player who does not know speedway as well as the speedway supporter. I think the thing I was most impressed with is the level of strategy in the game making it very challenging. Well worth the money!
  14. Ditto. Just received mine today - cheers Neil. Top bloke!!
  15. Football doesn't worry me - much rather see these young lads racing any day but the weather does concern me! Hope I am wrong!
  16. Looking forward to this meeting - hope the weather doesn't get the better of this first fixture for the Storm!
  17. Can anyone tell me if there will be any specific 'Storm' merchandise available in the trackshop this season alongside the normal EL items.
  18. I think that is a bit harsh Villiers210. Love him or hate him, Matt Ford has always been considered to be good at promoting Poole Speedway but even he is finding it hard to replace a 'lost' sponsor. It aint easy!!
  19. Yep, 10 out of 10 for Gemini, Dave and Ramsbottom!!
  20. Your'e welcome Gem. John Boulger was a favourite rider of mine from Leicester - always seemed to be a nice chap and fair rider. Yes, H&S will definately be the reason the capacity has reduced. Recognise any of these Leicester riders from a reunion in 2010:
  21. Aggregate scores from the programme was 93-63 (see below) so the score at Leicester must have been 35-43. Probably got that wrong again!!
