Yeh good crowd and the opening League meeting seemed to be quite competitive too! Despite the team championship being down to just 4 clubs hopefully they will each have a bit more strength in depth and it will make for closer racing and the title will go right down to the wire. Also good to see the feature in the fantastic SPEEDWAY SANOMAT magazine about the Finnish microspeedway project! With it up and running I feel it is definitely a step in the right direction. Who knows this season might just herald a revival in speedway in the land of the lakkahillo!! Kiitos for the results update F-S-P

Question(s) for Ghostwalker! How are the levels of support in Swedish Leagues this season compared with 2008? Are some clubs still experiencing big financial problems and is there any signs of improvement in this area? How are things with the 2 Stockholm clubs? has Getingarna's return been successful and can Hammarby ever return to Elitserien level in future?? Which is best track in Sweden to watch a speedway meeting? Can Smederna survive in the long term as surely Eskilstuna is a true speedway town? Does the TV coverage still get good viewing figures and will TV contract be renewed? Will the crowd for Goteborg SGP be above 20,000 mark? Why can't Sweden support it's own Speedway magazine ? Hope you won't mind all these questions GW but as our resident Swedish 'expert' I would be interested in your answers! Tak

Bloody typical of the weather!!!! But full marks to the club for trying to actively promote speedway and hopefully some of those people who came along on a frre ticket may be tempted to return for a future meeting

Very good crowd for Finnish speedway , better than some Premier League meetings over here and maybe the odd Elite League one too!!

If the Vojens event is the so called Nordic GP then can we have a Finnish Wild Card instead of the usual Danes or Swedes??

Thanks for the meeting report F-S-P. Glad to hear Tomi and Kalle okay, yeh Kauko put on a fantastic display! If only Joonas had been there then Finland might just have had a chance. Didn't help they were placed in the toughest qualifier either Here's to 2010 when with Kalle having another 12 months racing behind him the Lions will finally make it back into the SWC

Commiserations to Team Finland Hope Tomi and Kalle are okay and did not pick up any bad injuries. I am assuming they must have suffered from falls in their heats??

Suprised Tero Aarnio not part of the Team Finland line-up for the SWC qualifier I know he's been struggling at the start of this new season due to a variety of reasons but on Saturday night he showed a glimpse of his true potential when riding for Berwick at Workington. Having trailed round at the back in his 2 opening rides he sensationally beat Comets and probably the Premier League no 1 Kevin Doolan in heat 10 with a terrifically mature and impressive ride. And this was just after Doolan had smashed the Workington track record! Hopefully that win will give Tero the confidence boost he needs to get his season on track.
